So I ordered my pool in March followed up in May to secure and schedule an install date. Initially we were told we didn’t need a permit for replacement then in May we were told we did need the permit. We get the permit and Ed jerked us around regarding an install date. We were NEVER called back when we were told to expect a call, we personally went to the location to discuss install and Warren and Ed were NOT on the same page regarding customer orders. Now in June (still no pool)our pool needed to be picked up from Bound Brook NJ. Warren told me that the following Monday or Tuesday The pool would be picked up and we would get an install date. Again after NO CALL BACK we come back to the store and we are treated as if it were the first time they see us and our paperwork is NO WHERE to be found. Ed immediately pretends that it’s “no big deal and just get the customer a pool.” WELL THAT WAS ALL ******** because his partner Warren looked at him like “what are you talking about “. It seems that he was ready to take another order and deposit when they clearly know that they are not delivering the goods in time for this season. The whole experience has been HORRIBLE. Buyers Beware. I know we are limited in this area regarding professional establishments but expect NO CALL BACK & UNPROFESSIONAL CHAOS in how they run this business.

Olympic actually has two locations so depending on where you live will depend on which office services/ builds your pool.  In early 2012 we contacted Olympic to discuss having a pool put in and Ed came to our house and worked with us to understand the process.  Ed was extremely nice and very helpful.  Since we were located in Morris County, the job was passed off to the Flanders location which Ed's brother Bob runs.  The contracted called for Olympic to install the pool, build the retaining walls, break up the old patio and remove, do the new patio and install the fence.  The hole was dug, fairly quickly but after that, the process slowed.  Part of the slow process was from weather and part from Olympic. The pool frame was put up, the spa put into place, the liner installed the and water added.  The pool was back-filled and then they started on the retaining walls.  After the walls were completed, the existing patio was broken up and the foundation for the new patio was laid however the spa walls (which were to be stone) needed to be completed.   The patio was laid and the spa walls were completed.  What I was not happy with is that after this project was completed, I received an additional bill for several things (which we believed were included in the original quote)  We were given a bill for the patio being broken up and taken out (two separate charges)  We were also charged an additional amount for the foundation of the patio (QP) because the amount they had laid originally settle too much.  We used the pool and in October of 2012 had Olympic close the pool.
In September of 2012, the sand on the patio was coming up and washing away.  When the patio was laid, we paid additional money to have sand that would become hard to avoid the sand from washing away and from weeds, etc from developing.  When we contacted Olympic we were told that they would look into it.  Unfortunately their service in the matter was non-existing. ( I contacted the sand manufacturer directly and as of (May 2014) they have finally started to correct the issue.)
In May of 2013, we had Olympic open the pool and the spa.  During the opening process we tested the spa and it did not work as it did the prior year, several jets were not working and water was coming out of an area that air should be sucking from.  We let Olympic know.  After numerous calls they finally came to look at the spa in the end of July.  In October, after three different attempts to fix, I was told I should be happy that 6 of the eight jets work.  Bob the owner told us that he ordered new jets but they were on back order.  They closed the pool and said they would install the 2 new jets in 2014 so all 8 would work.  It was opened on May 8, 2014 and none of the jets now work.  So all of 2013 season the spa did not work correctly.  I will update this as to if 2014 is any better.
The service we have received on this has been horrible.  It takes numerous calls to get a response and even more to actually get them to your house.  When they show up, they tried to sell me a blower and an upgraded motor. After making a stink, they stated that it must be the jets.  Since I refused to buy the blower, I now have a four foot open pipe sticking out of the ground with no top and no comment from them as to what will become of this pipe.
Another example of their "attention to detail" would be that in the build process (in 2012) my town required then to pressure test the water lines.  To do that they needed to but a pressure gauge on pipes out to the pool.  As of this writing (May 2014), the gauge is still there and I have asked them in each of the times they were here and at all the closings and openings when would they take it off and each time I have been told they will be back to do it.  As of this writing (May 2014) it is still attached.
We love the pool and the concept they have provided was beautiful but the headaches associated with it are not worth it.  I would not recommend using Olympic.  Unfortunately I was not an Angie member at the time.

The price to close the pool was included in the purchase price of the pool. They were responsive, knowledgeable and excellent. Ed gave us his cell phone number so we call him directly on his cell. The price was fair.

We started talking with the owner Ed, in December of last year. We were expecting them to dig our pool a month or two before they started. He did not independently obtain the necessary permits so we had to go and do that ourselves despite him telling us that he would. He hooked us up with an electrician and a plumber that he recommended and then was misleading about the charges they would give us. He did not follow through in a timely fashion on the work that he was scheduled to perform. We had to call him and insist that he come again for every instance that he could possibly be involved with. He was not responsive to our concerns. He was untrue in his advertising and didn't follow through with his promises or commitments. As far as we can tell the quality of the pool is not compromised. It's a big hassle to install a pool and it is a lot of money and we were not pleased with how they didn't follow through on their promises. He was very unresponsive to our concerns when we contacted them several times. There was a lot of delay for no reasons. The quality of the work was thorough but the experience was unpleasant.

It is not very often that I take time out to write about a business that I have
dealt with, but Olympic Pools is not just any business; they are exceptional.
Our association with Olympic Pools began in August 2011 when my husband and I
decided to invest in an in-ground pool for our family after twenty-six years of
?thinking about it?. You have to understand that whenever we purchase something
for our home my husband thoroughly investigates our options. This was no different.
Ed from Olympic was the first of three companies that we brought in for an
estimate. From the start we felt extremely comfortable with him as well as his creative
ideas and suggestions for our backyard space. Since my husband and I knew
nothing about pool ownership we relied on Ed?s motto, ?we are in this
together?. Ed understands everything about the business and he surrounds
himself with a staff that is courteous, knowledgeable and reliable.

After thoroughly reviewing the three options Olympic was our clear choice. Ed
broke ground in October after guiding us through the permit process with our town. He
was there during every step of the construction process as well as provided us
with his personal cell phone number to contact him with any concerns or
questions. Within three weeks the pool was dug, filled and covered for the
winter months.

Due to our unseasonably warm winter, Ed was ready to begin work again in March. He
provided suggestions for the patio space and the next phase began. We never
realized how much was involved in our project. Our goal was to open the pool
for Memorial Day and we did just that! We couldn't be happier! We receive
endless compliments about the design of the pool, the placement in our yard, and
the salt water filtering system. It truly is our backyard oasis! Thank you Ed
and Olympic Pools for making our dream become a reality.

We had a very bad experience with Olympic Pools. I want to warn people to stay away from them. Our experience with them was disastrous. The installation was messy and the people who came to put it in were messy as well. We're stuck with this huge eyesore. The people we dealt with were rude and non-responsive. The price was outlandish.

I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS COMPANY. I BOUGHT MY POOL FROM THEM AND DECIDED TO USE THIS SERVICE WHEN THEY OFFERED IT. THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND DO A VERY GOOD JOB.
