We called this contractor on a Sunday and they responded very quickly, which was great. Corey came out that same day to look at the problem - a gas leak in the basement. He looked at it very quickly and quoted what I thought was too much and then bumped it down to $600. I thought he didn't listen and was a bit too hasty in his assessment but we needed it fixed quickly so agreed for him to come back the next day to fix it.
He came back Monday morning and set to work. Next thing I get a call at work that there is water running from the second and first floor down into the basement. His working on the gas pipes had pulled a water pipe loose and now we had a water problem as well. So now a gas leak has also turned into a broken water pipe.
He said he would fix the water problem for free. From what we could see, it appeared that this problem was not his fault but was the result of bad work that had been done upstairs previously. But next thing the water problem has turned into another water problem and the line of pipe alongside the gas also needs fixing. A $600 job becomes a $1000 job.
Again we thought it was not the plumber's fault and tried to be patient. Some of the pipes in the basement were very old and not in good condition. We could clearly see that the section of water pipe was extra work, not accounted for originally, and so the extra $400 was reasonable. He fixed this and we thought it was all over. We attributed the problems to old pipes.
On Wednesday morning I went to the basement and saw a very slow leak on the new joint where he had replaced the water pipe. I also saw a leak in another pipe near where he fixed, again quite a slow leak. We called and they said they would come out and fix the leaks. 
They never came and never called to explain why. 
A few days later I went down to the basement again and yet another leak had sprung from the water pipes. So now we have gone from no water problems to 3 leaks, all in new piping.
Fed up, we called another plumber, recommended by friend. He fixed all 3 leaks quickly and effectively, for $100.
I can understand the water problems happening in the old pipes when the gas was touched, and was willing to attribute it all to the age of the pipes (one of the water pipes was in very bad shape, and we didn't know about it until the gas leak happened - so that was not their fault), but I thought they should have at least come back to fix the leaks in their new work. On their contract this company says they give a one-year guarantee on their work, but they did not live up to that.
This is my first experience of using Angie's List and has given me a very bad opinion of it. If this is the sort of company that gets an A rating then I'd hate to see the others.

Very knowledgeable person (Matt). Cut open the sheetrock from 1st floor per instruction & found it was just a loose fixture. Also fixed a leaking tap. Cleaned up after everything.

This was our second time using Absolute Plumbing. Our bathroom shower was leaking and hot water pressure was very weak. Absolute Plumbing had an availability. The plumber was very knowledgeable and professional and did a very thorough job of replacing pipe, stopping the leak and adjusting the pressure. Overall experience was excellent.
We will use them again for sure.

They had been such extraordinary partners to us. They haven't gotten a dime yet they were kind and prompt and wrote an estimate that was complete when they really didn't have to do any of that. If the insurance company approves it.

I called early in the morning regarding a boiler repair- Within 20 minutes a young gentleman who  said his name was Gil showed.  That was the fastes ever for a plumber- he was very neatly dressed- no tools no clipboard - - I showed him to the boiler - and within 2 minutes he pronounced my problem as  a bad ignition system  and replacement would ake 4-5 days and the total cost would run me from $800-1100.  I looked at him - because I knew better- He went on to state however- he could have a whole new heating system installed that very day for  $11,000.00.  I told him- I am the daughter of a super- and I know a little bit about boilers and plumbing and heating system- " You tell my husband what you just told me"- - He looked shocked-  and amazingly the price went down for an electronic ignition it became 500- for a new heating system  it droppedt no more than 8,000.  Amaing the prices a man gets vs a woman.   My husband had to leave for work - and I showed "Gil" the door.   I called another company (Ryan )  I used A Absolute years back and the work had always been excellent no issues.  SOme days later - a different gentleman from Absolute called and I told him and described who came- he said that was not Gil - but he knew who it was- and he was going to have the owner call me.  Never heard from the owner - but Gil did call back  and left me a message if I had thought about his estimates.  I didn't bother to call back.

Absolute was open and available on Sunday. I called and they responded promptly, sending someone over within an hour. The first plumber was aghast at the problem - it's more complex than I care to detail here - but he told us that we would likely have to tear into the sheet rock in the basement (just installed last week!!!) in order to sort it out.  He left, and told us that he would need to get someone with more specialized tools to address the issue. We waited for several hours, but the second plumber (Rodney) arrived in the afternoon with a helper - and they were awesome! They did everything possible to try to address the issue without breaking into our walls - and they finally found a way! Rodney really went the extra mile to sort the problem out, and even cleaned up after he was done. They were very honest and very fair. Highly recommended.

He arrived promptly. Since he only had to tighten a screw on our very old toliet so there was no charge. He gave us an estimate to replace it but told us we shouldn't do that & it was a valuable, good toliet. How many times do you have a service person come & not charge you?

Very well.  Plumber, Matt, was very professional, worked quickly and cleaned up after himself.  Very happy with his recommendation and work.  He even adjusted a couple of loose faucets and gave recommendations on maintenance and replacement. 
We used this contractor last year for the installation of a toilet with the same excellent and prompt service.

A Absolute Plumbing and Construction provides emergency service and they do a professional job.  The utility and town inspectors knew the company and the job started and was completed like a well oiled machine.  We did not realize the extent of repairs required or the expense involved when we started but after seeing the entire job, we understand why the cost was higher than we expected.  This company is professional, the workers are diligent and polite, and they did what they promised under very adverse conditions. I would recommend this company to anyone.

They arrived when they said they would. They were very professional and courteous. They were able to analyze the problem and get the furnace working in 5 minutes. They did explain that the cause of the problem was a part past its prime and that it could be replaced. They said its running ok for now and that we can call back when or if it stops working again. When my wife asked ok what do I owe you, he just said nothing and to have a nice day....the whole thing took maybe 10-20 minutes. I just want to say thank you guys and even thou I don't hope or wish for things to break down LOL but if it does happen, I know who I'm calling LOL!!!! Thanks again guys!!!

It was coldest day in years.  I accepted high price only because I stayed home for PSE&G to fix my gas furnace (no heat for the previous 24 hours with 36 degrees in the home). I could not miss another day from work.  Pipe in garage burst 1-2 hours after PSE&G left around 5:45 PM.  A Absolute was the only 1 available of 3 referrals Angie's List Rep gave me.  If it wasn't an emergency I would have called around for a cheaper plumber.  This has cause great impact and setback to my finances!!!  My issue is with the exorbitant price not the quick response nor the quality of work which I will assume was at least adequate.

They were professional, on time and I was confident they knew what they were doing.

. Pipe burst in my garage at midnight.  I was able to stop the water but needed the pipe repaired.  I called in the morning and they answered immediately.  They were at my house within an hour and offered a free estimate (obviously I really needed it done and the price was good anyway)  He did a good job and actually helped me with another plumbing problem I was struggling with as well.  My only issue is that the pipe repair changed the angle of the original pipe.  Not a big deal, but returning it to the original layout would have left the pipe flush to the wall.  Now it is off the wall a little bit.  Quality work and problem solved, but I'm picky sometimes.  Customer service was great, prompt, quick, good price, job complete.  A grade overall.

Plumbing/snaking

It took two days and I had to pay a policemen to close the street. This did not happen and it was costly.The problem happened some time later when mud from around the pipe came into the basement.They responded to my complaint but found no problem.My son sealed the area around the pipe and I have had no problem since.I have a very good plumber who I would use in the future.

The plumber arrived a half hour after I was initially told, but I did get a follow-up call letting me know and he was on time.
The washer was changed and it is guaranteed for a year. I thought it was kind of pricey, but am glad it was taken care of.
 I dont know if they charge extra for going out on a Saturday, but it seems to be so. I would have expected it to be half the price charged. I understand they have a "minimum" but wasn't told about that in advance.  I did get the Angie's List 10% discount when I mentioned it - with no problem.
