COLONIAL CHIMNEY SWEEPERS

It went surprisingly well. We were surprised to hear that the chimney was in good condition and okay to use as we expected to hear that some work needed to be done since this area of home improvement seems to be rife with fraud. We were given many tips on operating a fireplace, storing firewood and he even gave us a cute little bundle of kindling for free! There was no mess whatsoever from the cleaning of the chimney. We had an appointment with another chimney sweep who charged one-half of Colonial's price, but he couldn't come until January 2. We decided to pay more for the quicker service before Christmas.

Fred returned my call the same night and set up an appointment for one fireplace/chimney cleaning on the following week. He showed up promptly, worked very quickly and left the area more clean than when he started. After looking at the secondary fireplace he remarked that it too needed a good cleaning (lots of Duraflame use from previous owner) and he set up a second appointment for a few days later. That appointment went just as smoothly. He was also very helpful by offering up tips on fireplace care and maintenance. I'll be sure to call him again next year for the same services (though he said he'd give a reminder call to check in then too).

Easy to get in touch with and got an appointment within a few days. He was right on time and very friendly. He was so organized and efficient in how he worked and not a speck of dust was left anywhere in the process or afterward. He said it is a vacuumed contained process so no mess to clean up but he still laid down tarps to protect carpets from his equipment. Very thorough. Pleasure to deal with and would highly recommend. Several members of my family have used him as well and we all have had the same positive experience.

Not only does this company do chimney cleaning, they also do gutters as well. I cannot say enough good about them. His services are excellent. I have been doing the chimney cleaning for years now with them. I would never think of going anywhere else.

I have been using Fred for at least ten years. Can't say enough good things about him. He responds to phone calls quickly, arrives promptly for appointments and is very pleasant to deal with. He keeps meticulous records and will remind us in writing and by phone if we are due for service. Although there were certain years when we hadn't used the fireplace, Fred was understanding and did not try to pressure us to do unnecessary work, but still would call to remind us the following year. He covers all surfaces and makes sure to clean up after himself.

I can't remember what I paid for the chimney cleaning they did for me but it was quite reasonable. I will be calling them again in the future, I feel sure.
