Dennis and Ada and their entire team at NJ Water and Mold are A+++ Professionals. We suffered a catastrophic water heater failure that resulted in significant damage to our home. Stressed, I called Dennis. He calmly walked me through the remediation and repair process and advised me that he could send his team to our home to begin work within the hour. Dennis is a man of his word! His team came to our house promptly and they worked diligently to mitigate the damages. Dennis and his team were exceptional. Dennis advised me what his team would do to remediate and repair our home, and Dennis' team did exactly what he said they would do--and they did it in a timely, courteous and highly professional manner. Additionally, Dennis worked directly with our insurance company. He promptly documented all the work performed, and prepared a comprehensive estimate of the needed repairs. We are so very grateful to Dennis and Ada and to their team! Overall, they were extremely courteous, highly professional, and they did a masterful job! The staff at NJ Water and Mold were extremely professional, thorough and responsive. They went above and beyond what was required of them. Jesse and Ray were on the property the entire time and answered any questions I had and worked around our busy office and staff. I had noticed the smell of sewer in the basement and laundry area, but had no idea where it was coming from. I had also noticed that the carpeting had appeared as if there was some water flooding in the area. The following day, I decided to investigate as the smell had become a source of concern. It was at that point I could see where the water was coming from. My sewer line was backing up into the basement because it had needed to be cleared from the buildup that had accumulated over the years. We hired a Plumber to fix the problem, and the Plumber had suggested that we had the area cleaned to alleviate the contamination . A quick search led to NJ Water and Mold. They were very professional, and most importantly, able to fix the problem that left me with a high level of satisfaction and at a price that was fair and affordable.

I called Dennis to schedule an appointment to assess whether or not a white substance on a basement floor is mold. Dennis assessed my situation over the phone, and explained that the substance is not mold, based on the material and location, and that it just needed to be cleaned. I really appreciated Dennis' professionalism, knowledge, and integrity - it is almost impossible to find a service provider these days with those qualities.

Dennis & the team were amazing. I would give them 10 stars! Dennis & his team, which were recommended by a good friend, came over within a few hours. They took care of everything, including working with the insurance agent for a quick turnaround. The process was so much less painful than I would have imagined. The basement walls, rugs, floors were a mess. They took all the pictures, and set up all the machines to salvage what they could and build everything back up again after it all dried. My basement looks great after all the work was completed. They were efficient, quick and very professional through every step. I had to go back to work and the crew was truly trustworthy. I can’t say enough good things to recommend this team!

Let me just start with saying Dennis is amazing. I had contacted him before the closing of our house because we did a mold inspection and we found lots of mold spores in the basement and not sure if there was a leak. We had received credit at closing for this and once we closed I got in touch again with Denis and he not only remembered our conversation but scheduled me in fairly quickly to come in and clean up/disinfect our basement. They were very busy that week also with an emergency job but he is an amazing communicator and just an overall great guy to work with. His team did a great job of coming in and getting the work done and effectively and they are priced very reasonably.

Great experience overall, especially when I needed professional service asap. Dennis came out the next day after we spoke. He was courteous and understanding. He explained to me what needed to be done and scheduled his team to come out the next day to do the work. He also was fair on the price considering it's a small bathroom. His team came the next day. They were on time, friendly, explained what they were going to do, did a great job and left the work area clean. Ada, who works at the office, is worth mentioning because she was friendly and helpful when I had to submit payment info and also when I had some follow up questions and requests. I also appreciated the email receipt and pictures for easier record keeping. I highly recommend this company if you need the services they provide.

Dennis came out to view the damage and told us we really didn’t need the work. He could’ve taken complete advantage of the situation, and given me an estimate of thousands of dollars, but instead gave me some advice on some quick fixes I could do myself. His honesty speaks volumes and if I do have a need for his services in the future, I will definitely be giving him a call.

This happened late at night. Looked up via Angie's list and NJ Mold stood out for great reviews. Called up their 24 hour number and Dennis answered. He understood the issue and what needed to be done. He came over promptly the next day, inspected the damages, advised me about insurance claims etc. He was very very warm and expressed his deep sympathies for our situation. His men came in promptly the next day, installed huge fans and dehumidifiers, took down dry walls etc. Overall, a great job performed. Dennis even handled some tough querying by claims adjustor. Dennis and I both got paid what we had estimated.

Dennis Chinea, who owns the company, is a smart, calm, compassionate man who truly understands that mold can seriously affect some people's health. He understands you may be pretty nervous about getting the job done and getting it done right. His team leaders in my experience have been polite, hardworking, professional and helpful. They will put up a zipped barrier between you and the work to be done, run a pro-quality air scrubber (high volume HEPA filter I believe), vacuum carefully with a HEPA vacuum, neatly and completely remove damaged materials, discard them in a way that doesn't track dangerous debris through your home, wipe and/or seal exposes surfaces as indicated, and leave you with a much safer situation than you started with. In one job at an apartment they did for us, the prior tenant had allowed puffy mold to grow on shower caulk, had a moldy shower curtain, didn't vacuum often, and had air fresheners that covered the moldy smells--yet we were symptomatic visiting the apartment. We are profoundly sensitive to mold due to a disastrous situation at an earlier home. Yet for various reasons this was where we needed to move to from another apartment. We had Dennis' team come in after the carpets were taken out and HEPA vac every square inch and wipe the whole place with a plant-based mildicide that they offer as an alternative to the chemical one. Be advised that though it is natural it is strong and effective AND will take a few days to air out, during which time it's strong enough that it could affect sensitive lungs. For an entire apartment we were glad to not be living there yet! Later at the same premises a leak developed around a kitchen window and a partially rotted windowsill had to be removed. We knew from our condo disaster that once you disturb mold it becomes ten thousand times more active. No way were we going to have that done without the zipper barrier, the air scrubber, etc.! Our symptoms which we were experiencing while the windowsill was damp and before NJ Mold came and took it out improved rapidly within a few days of their work. This included fatigue for my husband and me, bone spurs for me and memory issues for him. You don't want mold around and we were so glad to have it out of there. When the carpenter came to begin the rebuild he noted that Dennis' team had done a very good job. Team leader Justin was in charge that day. Like with any contractor it never hurts to know that people are human. Make sure they know any of your concerns and before they zip themselves into the zippered area you could ask them to double-check that they have everything they need in there before they begin the work. Also be aware that an itemized estimate, while it specifies possible hours for different tasks, is to be taken as a fixed bid to do the fixed tasks. If it takes a little longer I think you can count on them to get it done. If it takes a little less you should assume the price is what was stated. It's not cheap to do this kind of work but they are sending a truck and at least two men for anything they do. I think the prices are fair given what's out there, and they do want to know that you are satisfied with their work, so be sure to contact the owner with any concerns. He is responsive on his cell phone and he wants his teams to meet your needs. No one wants to need their services but I would not hesitate to hire them again as they are honest, knowledgeable, respectful and diligent.

Dennis was very helpful when I had water damage in my basement when my main water line leaked . He was recommended to me by the plumber that came to my house and told him about my problem . Dennis called me on his vacation time , really explained to me what to expect , how home insurance plays a role in my situation , what his company does , and gave me the peace of mind that I needed that time . He sent his workers to take care of everything ... removing all my stuff from the basement to my POD storage in the driveway , removed all the damaged drywall, treated every surface with anti virus and Mold and they left machinery to dry out my basement . The workers were very professional and thorough . They also cleaned up afterwards. Dennis came by to check the humidity and condition of the basement , and thought that he is very articulate in explaining to me what to expect and what needs to be done . I'm very thankful for his guidance, the quality of work that they did and for being there when I needed help.

Dennis went above and beyond to ease our minds after we found mold in the basement. Luckily, we did not have a water issue and only needed a basement dehumidifier and to clean up the existing mold, which we could do on our own. In the end we did not need his services, but Dennis was upfront, honest and ever so helpful!

This work was done as part of a claim to my homeowner's insurance. Dennis helped me to navigate the very complicated insurance world. Without his help and expertise, I would have received 1/5 of the money required to replace my ancient cupboards etc. His patience and professionalism was reassuring when my kitchen was a complete disaster. Excellent service and quality work! Dennis was available within hours to assess my flooded basement. He explained the work required to get the water out and take care of the mold - I learned more than I could have ever imagined about water and mold! His guys worked quickly and professionally - I even received compliments from others on the amazing job they did with cutting the dry-wall (to take care of the mold). Overall, I'm very pleased with the result and the great customer service!

After moving some old boxes, found what appeared to be mold behind them. After consulting with Dennis, he let me know that from my description, it could be efflorescence and not mold. Either way, the area was small enough that I could clean it myself if I wanted to save the money, but that they would be happy to help if I didn't feel comfortable doing so. I didn't want to take any chances, so I hired NJ Water and Mold to do the job. They were responsive and professional every step of the way, with a more than reasonable price. I would definitely do business with them again and highly recommend them.

Although this company is listed for mold testing and remediation they do not do any testing. You'll need to know for sure that you have mold. My overall grade that was required to submit these comments really doesn't have anything to do with the provider as I didn't do work with them, the problem is Angie's List miscategorization of their service.

The work was scheduled and the Technician arrived on time and went to work right away. He explained the remediation process and when the job was completed, took the time to explain, what needed to be done to restore the area to normal.

They made short work of removing all the standing water and the soaked rugs and old, damaged linoleum. They set up drying equipment over night and the next day. Asbestos tiles were found under an old rug and Dennis contracted a company to come in and remove them in accordance with all environmental laws and standards. He also worked directly with my insurance company so I'd be covered for all their work plus some reimbursement for the contents that needed to be disposed of. As soon as I contacted NJ Water and Mold I felt I was in good hands with a company that knew better than I did what needed to be done and they got right to doing it. The water clean-up and debris removal was about $4,500 and the asbestos tile removal and disposal was about $4,400. This included lab testing and hazardous disposal fees.
