We contracted with Garden State Brickface to have our 3 story masonry chimney resurfaced. We made an appointment and Mark, their sales consultant came to review the job. He was excellent at explaining the process and the options. The pricing was right for our budget so we contracted right then. The crew was very good and proceeded to complete the job in just over a week, with some lost time due to weather. We are very pleased with the end result and the quality of work. The office staff was great to work with and very responsive. I highly recommend them.

Hired Brickface to re-stain the siding and deck of our newly purchased home, as well as apply a new coat of paint to the trim. Brickface was slightly more expensive than some of the competitors but worth the money. Marcelo’s team was professional and got the job done quickly. The staining and paint jobs look great and would definitely recommend Brickface.

Exterior Painting
Poor work quality at a high price. I waited 7-8 weeks for the work to begin without receiving a single phone call. Two men scraped portions of the garage with a 2-inch putty knife less than two hours and were about to start painting when I stopped. I insisted that more scraping was necessary and that they hadn't sanded or primed as per the contract. The foreman told me that sanding was not necessary, then left and returned days later after I sent pictures and video to the salesperson of loose paint being removed with my finger. I micromanaged as much of the job as I could, and had to replace portions of rotted wood myself, because the foreman and manager said it couldn't be done. See the pictures of the completed work that show clearly visible dripping paint throughout the garage, rotted wood that was not convenient for the crew to replace, horrible bumpy putty to close gaps, no filler between some joints where they replaced wood, and painting over staples that could easily have been removed. After much complaining on my end, the manager did become more responsive and checked in on the job several times. They were also very timely in contacting me to request payments throughout the job. The salesperson opening line to us was we have higher prices than our competitors, but you can trust us to deliver a good job. That promise was clearly not met. In fact, I showed them my neighbors garage that was recently painted by another company, and their response was that I should not expect perfection, and not to expect the garage to look as good as my neighbors.

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], i am very sorry for how you feel. We have an excellent reputation and pride ourselves with doing quality work for our customers; we were not perfect in some aspects of the job, although respectfully disagree with you on a few items. In regards to timing, we were 4-6 weeks out and you should not have waited as long as you did, that was unacceptable and we are sorry for that. The contract included more than you mentioned; it also included to scrape, sand and prime bare wood for 2 deco wood brackets at the front door, wood trim around the front door and single window next to it. The garage portion included a complete powerwash, scrape and sand of loose peeling paint. Also included was 30 linear ft of wood replacement: clearly written on the contract. Upon completion of all the above, it included 2 coats of Sherman Williams Emerald Exterior Paint. In retrospect, it was our fault and we should not have accepted the contract based on the poor condition of the garage and your expectations; we failed there. However, we did confirm with you at job start the entire scope of work and the 30 lf of wood replacement included, and you insisted you would not pay more. Because of the inconvenience, we installed 110 linear ft for free. It could have used another 60-80 lf of wood replacement, and you did not want to pay for more. We also should have done a complete sanding of the entire garage, not a scrape of loose and peeling paint – your neighbor had a full sanding which is a completely different job and price. By us not offering the right solution, that is our fault; although did some additional work for free because we felt it was the right thing to do. We blame ourselves on some aspects of the job, although you agreed to a scope of work and that is what we performed. We are truly sorry with what we put you through on the amount of time it took to complete your project and how you feel that you have been taken advantage of. Our reputation just doesn’t reflect this type of treatment with the projects we perform."

I recently purchased a 25 year old EIFS house. The house is in good shape but the expansion joints on 2 sides were a bit worn. In addition there were a couple of cracks and holes thanks to woodpeckers that needed to be sealed. Brickface replaced the expansion joints using the proper high grade caulk and backing rod for about 100 total feet and patched the holes with proper color. Both look new and they blended the color well with the hole patching. Can't even tell something was there. My only issue was communication at times with the crew and the disconnect at start time (they showed up a 7am when we were expecting a bit later). Otherwise they were professional and cleaned up well. Brickface was not cheap but replacing the joint sealing I was willing to spend a bit more so it was done right. It was
