"Good morning [Member Name Removed] - You hired us to perform a house wash per your estimate and invoice. The problem arose when you insisted that my service professional wash your pergola which was not part of the contract and nor have you paid for that service. He advised the office that you lead him to believe it was part of your house wash. If you asked the office when you contacted us to contract for a house wash that you wanted your pergola washed, we would have asked for pictures of your pergola. Upon review of the pictures, we would have advised you against washing the pergola due to the close proximity of your shrubs. If you insisted we wash the pergola, we would have built in a clause in our estimate that would have said, we assume no responsibility for any issues that may occur with the shrubs due their close proximity of the columns. I sent an arborist to your house last fall to assess the shrubs and treat them. The arborist returned late spring. We washed 3 other homes that day on your block. The only two customers who are having issues are those who insisted on a free pergola wash. The other two customers had shrubs and other landscape that was unaffected. As I said earlier, this problem arose when you requested a free service for an area that was not part of the original contract as your pergola wash was never discussed with the office. This matter is now in the hands of my insurance company."
