Ben Grano, his brother, and their employees are absolutely the BEST. We received the best care with everyone. They were receptive to what we wanted, extremely digilent throughout the whole process, and so helpful in explaining how they were fixing our foundation on the side of our house. Some words that come to mind when I think about these guys: Superb, outstanding, reliable, reasonable, down to earth, trustworthy, and family. Ben was always around when we had any questions and was super supportive in explaining how to maintain an incredible patio and landscaping. I can’t thank him or his company enough. We will forever recommend his company and continue to keep in touch as our children grow and we enjoy our backyard more and more! Grano customers ARE family and we’re so grateful for them.

Ben and Gene were amazing from start to finish. They pointed out all issues, reviewed and discussed options before moving forward. They were timely, professional and clean from start to finish. Wow, these guys are true professionals. We recently purchased an old home that passed inspection. We had Ben Grano come in based on a referral from a friend for an estimate on concrete work. He immediately noted issues in the basement that the previous owner covered up with lots of Drylock paint that were not caught by the home inspector. He recommended replacing some columns under the main beam as well as adding in three pilaster columns to support the main beam and the walls after he noted cracking in the concrete blocks. We also decided to do a french drain at the same time. Ben gave us a written estimate that was incredibly detailed and easy to understand. On the first day of the job, Gene Grano arrived with the crew and emptied our basement before setting up, covering anything left there and laying down plywood in our driveway and on the grass. Once the crew started breaking the floor near the walls, they found that our home had no footing and the walls were built right on top of the dirt. The central columns were also laying on top of the floor with no footings. Ben and Gene explained everything to us and went over options. We were very upset about the situation but they reassured us and went over the game plan. The crew was awesome. They worked nonstop Monday through Saturday and were very polite and professional. The entire job was complete in just under three weeks and we are incredibly happy with the outcome and we know that the job was done right and our home will be safe and secure for years to come. Every part of the job was explained and shown to us. The crew did a great job cleaning up every day. We could not be more happy with Mario Grano And Sons LLC and are happy to refer them to anyone. We also look forward to having them back next year to redo our concrete patio.

Ben, Gene and the crew of Mario Grano and Sons are a well oiled machine! They started the work when they did they would, they were done in 7 days leaving us extremely happy. There was a lot of variables with our job and our neighbor, and they took all of that into consideration. We love our new extended driveway and front curb.

We had a real problem with our basement. Not only from a waterproofing standpoint but also from a structural point of view. Mario Grano & Sons provided a quality solution that will last for generations to come. Thanks Ben Gene and crew for helping us out and doing such a great job!

Extensive work was done quickly, professionally, and cleanly. Initially we wanted the basement mold problem fixed, but half of the basement was finished so we could not inspect that part of the basement. After demolition we found that the existing walls were bowing due to outside water pressure and cracks (horizontal and vertical) were found. Mario Grano & Sons installed: a perimeter water management system which drains into two corner sump pump pits, excavated 18 inches away from the existing block wall by removing concrete pad, lined the trench with bluestone gravel and inserted perforated pipe with sock to drain into the sump pits, drilled holes in existing block to allow drainage of the wall, installed 10 pilasters (sawtoothed into existing block) to keep existing walls stable, installed hollow kick molding to allow block wall to drain to trench, finished the drainage system with a smooth concrete surface, installed two quality sump pumps and connected them outside to existing downspout drainage to the street, cleaned block walls of mold and applied a mold inhibitor/encapsulator, underpinned the footings around the sump pump pits and around two cracks in the footing. The did this all quickly, cleanly, and professionally. Mario Grano & Sons were very careful with our house, courteous, and always went to great lengths to keep things clean and tidy each of the 9 work days they were here. I would unconditionally recommend Mario Grano & Sons for any other project. They are very smart about their business and perform the best work that anyone can imagine.

Very personable,and professional. Extremely neat..cellar floor mopped after each work day,garbage removed every day from cellar,equipment left nearly outside in back yard out of the way. Left the workers alone in basement all day while I was at work,without any problems what so ever. Phone calls and texts returned promptly. Very happy with work,cleanliness, honesty,and efficiency!

Old steps and walkway what removes all debris was removed from site new steps match existing brick on house and walkway was leveled and completely redone at the end of the job Aerie was left cleaner then when they started was very pleased with work performed and would highly recommend them

Meticulous workmanship, professional, step-by-step progress report, no "unexpected" costs, driveway looks fantastic, mirrors meticulous workmanship. Can find no accolades that say enough. I would like to preface my review with expressing my gratitude to Ben Grano and his crew. He and his crew were the most professional, hard-working, and honest individuals I have ever hired to perform work on my residence. I would absolutely recommend Ben and his company to perform whatever work you may require. I initially discovered a foundation compromise in my basement where two (2) of my foundation walls were buckling and at some time in history a previous owner attempted a repair which was not only wrong, was done without any permits or engineering assistance. After having several "Basement Solution" companies evaluate my basement with their recommendations, I did not feel satisfied with their solutions or promise of guaranteed stability. I then found by luck (thank you Google) Mario Grano & Sons website and reviewed all the services they offered and finally found what made total sense in their solution to my foundation problem. I called and made an appointment which by the way, the person who I initially spoke with put me at ease and was completely professional and knowledgeable of the services they perform and was able to answer some initial questions I had. I make mention of this as first impressions make a huge difference and when you are about to en-devour on a major expensive project which could have lasting implications on the stability of your home you want to make sure you've made the right decision which I can say without reservation I did with Mario Grano & Sons. Once I had my appointment, Ben showed up to my home and he spent the better part of two (2) hours going through my basement and educating me on my foundation and dissecting the problems he could see right off the bat. He proposed the solution which included adding pilaster columns to the compromised walls, adding a french drain system w/sump pumps, and adding downspout diverters to ensure no roof water collects next the house. Ben provided me an estimate right then which I believed was more than fair considering the amount of work that was going to be needed and based on other estimates i had received which were nothing in comparison to what Ben's solution was. After accepting the estimate, Ben scheduled to have an engineer come out and draw the necessary plans to submit the permits to the town which was done exactly when Ben stated they would come. After all the permits were submitted, Ben and his crew arrived on-time as promised and before one tool was brought into the house, they sealed up any exposed areas around the basement to eliminate any dust and debris from coming into rest of the house. After starting the work and digging out the perimeter of my basement, they discovered some other potential issues with the footings of the basement based on the amount of water which was present. Ben immediately notified me, walked me through his proposed solutions and again more than fairly provided me an estimate. As the basement was being repaired, I had Ben review some other foundation issued I had near the corners of my garage which after 50+ years of downspout water collecting, ate away the block foundation. Once again, Ben came up with a solution and did exactly what he said he would do. After a little over three (3) weeks of continued work (from first thing in the morning to 6 o'clock) including Saturdays they completed all the work. I had them add new concrete pads around my garage and adjoining to a patio; Belgian block retaining wall on the side of the house and the complete repair of my basement foundation. Ben stayed in constant communication with me throughout the entire project and whenever something was done that just wasn't quite perfect they stopped and then worked it until it was perfect. The craftsmanship and pride Ben's crew has for their work is unmatched in any work I've had done in my home and is commendable in this day and age. I already have future landscaping projects I want to complete and without a doubt the first call I'm making is to Ben. Not only did Ben and his crew do everything they said they would do, Ben also went above and beyond with small additions I know he incurred at his own cost. Again in this day and age its almost impossible to find an honest contractor who #1 shows up and #2 performs the work they say they will do and stand by the final product. Mario Grano & Sons are the real deal and I thank them for an outstanding job.

Great! The work was started as scheduled and completed within a few days. Ben Grano went over every detail of the job with us and gave us a fair price. Having previously had work done by MARIO GRANO & SONS, LLC we knew we'd get quality workmanship and a beautiful finished project. We highly recommend this company.

Excellent from beginning to end. Ben gave a reasonable estimate, we had three, but we choose him because he explained exactly what was entailed and he also was highly recommended by a previous customer and friend. He got the permit for us, he finished in a timely manner, his crew was very professional, friendly and very careful of our property. They use plywood on our grass to protect it and everything they moved was put back exactly where it was before they started the job. We would use Mario Grano and Sons for future jobs as we need other work done but cannot do it all at the present time. Ben is an honest and reliable and you would be as happy as we are if you hire him to do a job for you.

Workmanship is superb. Workers cleaned up thoroughly every day. Even placed topsoil & grass seed by slab to repair landscaping.

Mario Grano and Sons did an excellent job taking out our beaten up one car concrete driveway, and replacing with a wide and beautiful two car concrete driveway. From the initial estimate (which was more competitive than what other contractors gave) to the handling of permits and actual demo and build work, they were on par and very professional!

Excellent contractors who are polite, hands on, fair, and neat. Pleasant to work with. Everything was explained and costs were presented upfront. Contract stipulated everything that was to be done and outlined the issues that could have come up during the job. No hidden surprises half way through the job. On workdays, there was always a representative present watching the workers. Workers were polite and neat. Very pleased with the finished patio. No water pooling. Good drainage. Would use again. Highly recommend.

Grano and sons did an excellent job. My front steps and landing were completely redone with brick and limestone. They matched the brick to the existing brick archway, looks like it's alway been there. The owners were very knowledgeable and easily accessible. The workers were diligent, worked everyday until the job was completed and cleaned up the debris on the last day. I would highly recommend their services.

Ben identified an issue with our foundation that no one else had discovered. His price was extremely reasonable and the outcome was pristine! Ben and his Brother Gene were so wonderful to deal with. What started out as changing three sump pumps, they took the time to go over the other pipes in my house. They gave me advice on what they felt needed immediate attention or items that should be addressed at some point. They not only gave me advice, they were able to show me what they were explaining to me. They took their time and were extremely thorough. They were also very fair in their pricing. I am so happy I trusted my instinct and went with Mario Grano and sons. They have given me some referrals for other issues. They are my new friends in Woodbridge. No matter what time it is, if you need help, believe me - Mario Grano and sons will be there. Hire them, you won't go wrong.

There are not enough superlatives to describe how I feel about the job Ben, Gene and their crew did. My husband and I met with Ben and Gene and gave them a vision for our job. The finished product exceeded our wildest dreams. The recommendations they made were spot on. Their professionalism and attention to every last detail, (sweeping out our garage and wiping clean our cooler) are just 2 examples of going above and beyond. I don't know which I like better: the concrete or the landscape? Both are INCREDIBLE! Best of all the job came in on budget, but most importantly, on time. They did a great job! From the front, the house now has a completely different and much nicer look, as all the neighbors have been commenting. It's very professionally done, and obviously so to anyone who sees it. When I was originally getting estimates, Ben was the only one to give a really careful, thorough analysis of what the problems were, and what needed to be done so that the new porch and steps would reliably last. He was the only one to point out that there were some issues with the foundation, and it's a good thing he did; now that they've been fixed I have one less headache to worry about. He and Gene really took the time to talk through several different options with me, e.g. different designs, different materials, etc. As a result, the project turned out very well, and I have no doubt that the various choices involved were the right ones. The Granos run a very professional operation, and I recommend them highly.

We were so impressed by the professionalism of Mario Grano and Sons. They explained everything thoroughly, and were courteous and professional every step of the way. We had a major crack in our basement wall, and they exceeded our expectations in repairing it. The best part was that the inspector was visibly impressed by the quality of the work. Mario Grano and Sons is a family owned company, and they take pride in the work associated with their name. I can't say enough good things about them!
