I just hired them for at least the third time over the past few years. They've put in a new kitchen, bathroom, front door, fixed landscaping drainage problems, replaced basement wall, window, lights. Their work is always fabulous. Professional, creative, careful, friendly, neat, reliable. They have a designer and a show room so there's no need to travel from place to place.

Went very well. Showed up when expected. Completed on time. Contractor was very friendly and workmanship was excellent. Each day everything was cleaned up. This is our 3rd project with JMC and would definitely use again. They are not the cheapest contractor around but you get what you pay for.

Amazing Deck! I recently needed a whole new deck which meant a lot of demolition of the existing one, not to mention, 8” of concrete that needed to be chopped up and removed. The whole job went very well and I’m thrilled with the outcome. JMC is a highly professional and more importantly trustworthy company. The owner John and his staff are always professional, patient and courteous. The men who worked on the deck (Henry & Mike) always let me know when they were coming. They worked diligently to get the job done. They kept me informed of any minor issues that arose and also had the solution to the problem. These guys were the best! I’ve used JMC for numerous projects and have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend them.

JMC Kitchen Remodel From project conception to completion, our experience with JMC Home Improvement Specialists of Parsippany was excellent. Every interaction with owner, office staff, site supervisor, and work crews was professional, friendly, and accommodating. Our kitchen footprint did not change, but the definitive 80s almond laminate with wood trim stock cabinets clearly needed replacement, and we got the look and quality we wanted working with this company. JMC owner John MacDougall visited our home and talked about needs, dreams, and options. A visit to the office and showroom gave us the opportunity to meet with Tammy, design expert, who expertly guided us through choices for style, materials, and colors, and soon we were scheduling the four week job to totally demolish our existing kitchen and watch the transformation to the new one. At each stage of the work, demolition, cabinet installation, tile work, plumbing and electrical, we greatly appreciated having one site manager to oversee each crew. Each morning we received a phone call to alert us to the arrival and start time of the day, and without fail, they were there. Our home was treated with care and prepared as well as possible for dust and debris, and at the end of each workday, the entire area was swept and clean when they left. As the job came to its conclusion, there was always a quick response and fix to any of our concerns or problems. At the end of it all, our project came in on time and on budget. We could not be any more pleased with our experience and would highly recommend JMC for any remodeling and construction. Bravo!

Overall, we have had a very positive experience with JMC. This is now our second major project with them. The quality of their work is top rate and you can tell their employees really care about their work. JMC makes it easy to transform a concept into a finished product with the help of their excellent designer, Tammy. In addition, JMC really goes above and beyond to make sure other areas of your home are kept clean while the work is being performed. We will be using them again in the future and have already recommended them to family & friends.

We had a fantastic experience with JMC for a complete kitchen do-over including the removal of a wall in a nearly 100-year old house. We were very nervous going in to the project having heard so many horror stories of home remodels gone wrong from friends and neighbors. In the end we couldn't have been more at ease with our experience start to finish with JMC. Everyone at the company was an expert communicator with regard to process and expectations, the crew showed up on time every day and took great care with our home, and we finished on schedule and on budget. JMC wasn't the absolute cheapest quote we got but we went with our gut about who would provide the better experience and never regretted it. In the end we got the kitchen we wanted for a fair price and it was a completely drama and hassle-free experience. Our friends and neighbors are jealous. :)

Excellent. The project was completed on time, with top quality workmanship. The foreman on the job noticed an error on blue prints provided by a third party architect, and stopped work until the plan was corrected. Everything from the framing to the fine details were done at the highest level. They make sure to clean up the work area each day before leaving the site.

The contractors showed up on time and were very professional. The work was done on time and was done cleanly . Any hiccups we had were fixed quickly . There was always a toilet available , which when you're as old as I am,is a big deal . These guys were terrific and I would hire them again for any other work I want done in the future .

They were awesome to work with! Everything was done professionally, the jobsite was clean as was the rest of the house. It was comforting to know that management had constant oversight of the project. All the workers showed great attention to detail. We would absolutely hire them again and, in fact, have our next project already picked out!

Fantastic. I cannot say enough great things about JMC. From start to finish our project went smoothly and the finished product was everything we dreamed our kitchen would be -- and more! We were extremely impressed with JMC's organization, communication and quality of work. They had permits ready to go prior to starting our job, all materials on site, a clear project timeline and a "jack of all trades" dedicated to our project. This gentleman was extremely knowledgeable about every area of the project -- and this meant we waited on no one. If something needed to get done, it got done... and it got done well! There was not ONE day where work was not being accomplished. You hear so many stories about large remodel projects taking more than double the original timeline... so we were prepared to be without a kitchen for more than the projected 4-6 weeks. But we were pleasantly surprised when the project was finished EARLY! Our friends and family could not believe it. All of the preparation we had done with the individuals in the office prior to starting this project and the competent & professional staff that we had on site ensured this project's success. We would use JMC again without a doubt and highly recommend them to anyone who is looking at starting a home improvement project!

My experience with JMC was nothing short of phenomenal. Owner John MacDougall sold me on his thorough, process-oriented approach to design/build jobs like mine. The meticulously detailed project estimate JMC crafted ensured we were all on the same page and facilitated clear communication throughout the job. Their designer Tammy was spectacular, walking me through options for my bathroom remodeling and helping me select materials that ended up looking better than I even imagined. The entire team, from the office staff to the on-site crew at my home, were professional, super-friendly, courteous, helpful and available every step of the way. They felt like close friends and they’re a funny bunch to boot. I am incredibly pleased with the final results and am continually receiving compliments from friends and family on how good it looks. The only snafu during the project was a small one. The wrong closet door was ordered and installed. After a simple phone call to Jack, their project manager, the error was corrected in a day or two, no questions asked. JMC estimated a 4-5 week project time and completed the work in 4.5 weeks, exactly on time. They made my life easier throughout the process and have also made it easier going forward: I know who I'm going to hire for any future projects in my home. JMC was for sure the most expensive vendor I obtained an estimate from. But their spectacular work proves the old axiom "you get what you pay for." These guys are the best, worth every penny. I can't wait to work with them again!

JMC developed a plan, and stuck to the plan. They came in on time and on budget. We are very pleased with the process and the final product. There were usually at least 6 workers onsite and sometimes up to 9. By the end of the project (almost 4 months) we felt like they were family.

JMC is the only contractor that has met our expectations for workmanship, professionalism, and customer service. We knew that we were paying a premium for their services, but the end result was WELL WORTH IT. John MacDougall is very detail-oriented, and takes pride in delivering a finished product that is unmatched in quality. New Jersey can be a scary place to hire contractors for renovation work, but you can trust JMC to do an amazing job.

This was our third renovation with JMC, and, as before, we were thrilled with both the process and the results. Communication was excellent as usual, and everything was thoroughly discussed and explained in detail so there were no surprises. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was excellent. Over the last 3 years, JMC has upgraded virtually every part of our house and it's been gratifying to have worked with such a professional organization. While we might find something else for them to work on, in the meantime we're thoroughly enjoying our new basement.

JMC was the contractor for us. They helped us create and design a finished basement which has become the best room in our house. They took a space that was essentially unlivable and have made it into a great area for not only the kids but the parents as well. The professionalism of their company was unlike anything we have seen from a contractor in the past. From the first consultation to the last meeting it seemed as if our project was the most important to them. The workers they had on the project were responsible, reliable, neat and clean, and most importantly their craftsmanship was beyond reproach. Each person that entered our house had a copy of the plans, knew the project and there was never a gap in knowledge that caused a delay. They maintain such a meticulous eye for detail and perfectionism that the finished project came out above all of our expectations. One of the critical parts of the project was to create a new staircase to the basement, and it is amazing what a difference that created. People that have been in our house previously and see it for the first time are amazed at the transformation. JMC also provides guidance through the project. Providing updates and asking questions whenever a need arose. The project manager was on site at least once a day, conveying progress and alleviating any concerns that we might have had. The estimate that they provided at the beginning was absolutely accurate with respect to both time and money for the job. Actually they came UNDER the budget. We are beyond satisfied with their commitment, craftsmanship and professionalism. We won't do another project without them.

What a fantastic experience! We worked with John (owner) and Tammy (designer) to design a space that would be much more usable, not to mention bright and airy. The entire process, from start to finish, was easy and JMC was so professional! John and Tammy walked us through every of the design process so that nothing was missed. Everything needed for the project was picked out well before the start of construction… from appliances to cabinets and countertops to windows, tile, flooring and faucets. No detail was left untouched! Since everything was done in-house (engineers, designers, electricians, etc), we didn’t have to worry about one person talking to the other. They took care of everything and made sure everything was in order well before our project start date! And our project actually started three weeks early. This put us into a bit of a tailspin since we had to pack up everything and we were moving to a temporary apartment, but everything worked out to our advantage. Jack (Project Manager) and Rick (On-site Foreman) were amazing to work with. They didn’t miss a thing and were excellent at keeping us informed of the progress (even though we stopped by the house every day!). If we needed to make minor changes to the design, Rick rolled with it. Nothing every seemed to ruffle his feathers! The house was swept clean and supplies picked up every day. I often said during the early stage that I could eat off the floor after they were done each day! The guys were here all day every day… and it’s obvious they were working hard. The progress that was made each day was amazing! We never had to worry about them not showing up each day. We now have an absolutely beautiful new space that is the envy of all our friends and neighbors! And the project was completed 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule! How often does that happen?? Our first floor is open and the amount of light coming in makes it such an inviting space. It’s not a dark, uninviting space anymore! We would highly recommend using JMC for any remodeling projects… both small and large. They are very professional and the company works like a well-oiled machine. We wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!

John (the owner) and Tammy (the designer) were fantastic to work with during the initial stages of our bathroom renovation. They walked us through the renovation process and provided their recommendations based on our needs and budget. I was very impressed with all the documentation, pictures and plans provided with the contract. Even Debbie (the receptionist) was always pleasant on the phone. Mike (the lead contractor) and Jack (the project manager) kept us informed every step of the way during the renovation. While few occurred, Mike discussed any unplanned changes with us on a timely manner. We easily worked together to resolve the issues with minimal stress to all. Mike was professional, timely and very detailed in performing high-quality work from beginning to end. A special thank you to Mike. For personal reasons, we wanted the main parts of the renovation completed by a certain date. They not only met that date, but completed the project ahead of schedule without sacrificing any quality. They even resolved some minor issues months after the job was complete. We’re very happy with our new bathroom. I highly recommend them and would use them again. We initially met with the owner John who explained the process and answered any questions we had, he took measurements and then we scheduled an appointment with the design specialist Tammy. The design and planning phase with Tammy went very well, Tammy had excellent ideas on how to maximize the existing kitchen space as well as helping us pick out the cabinets, granite counter, back splash, and the tile floor. After the necessary permits were received, the demolition started on October 17, 2016 and, we were able to use our new kitchen the week of November 7, 2016. The JMC carpenter, Mike put in a full day from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday. At the end of the day he would show me what he had completed and what he planned to work on the next day. His workmanship was excellent and he took pride in his work. Jack the foreman would stop by at least once per day to see how the project was going.

We contracted with JMC to renovate our kitchen and bathroom. We made quite a few trips to JMC's offices towork with their designer, Tammy, who was always professional and knowledgableas she guided us through the many decisions necessary to complete these projects. All the other office people were just as courteous and helpful. The men who worked on our house were exceptional craftsmen who came to work every day and called each morning to let us know they were on their way. Although we had two disagreements, John runs a good company and is a good example to everyone who works at JMC. The two disagreements were: they put the wrong countertop in the kitchen, although it was partially my fault. We compromised and resolved the issue; and secondly, we had prefinished, oak, tongue and groove flooring installed in the kitchen. In a short time, the boards began to warp. I contacted JMC, they contacted the manufacturer who visited the site, and I was told that the cupping was within accepted tolerances (not to me) and that it would probably flatten out with 2 years. I'm not satisfied with the floor but I'm happy with everything else.

The entire process was professional done to the highest standards. During the design phase, our initial ideas were used as a basis, and JMC was able to suggest many great ideas that were incorporated. During review of the drawings, all comments and suggestions were evaluated and discussed and we had final approval. Selection of tile, cabinets and fixtures was greatly helped by Tammy's advice. She was a great help in the selection process, and explained all the differences in style. Jack, the project manager, kept me informed during all phases of the project. Mario, who was on-site every day and coordinated all the other workers, kept us involved in the day to day progress of the project. He was helpful and diligent, and all the small questions that came up were brought to our attention and he worked hard to resolve them. The painter was also diligent, having to make two trips to the paint store to insure that the stain for the woodwork matched perfectly. JMC also returned after the job was completed to install an additional heating vent. This is an example of JMC's commitment that the job will be done to the home owner's complete satisfaction. We are totally satisfied with our project, and would recommend JMC to anyone considering a remodel.
