Description of Work: My heater stopped working on Friday. They sent out technicians the same day. They diagnosed the problem and by Monday they were back to change out the inducer motor. I looked up the price on the internet and it ranged from mid $200s to $350. They charged $269 for the motor, which I thought was fair. Their labor was $165. I have no sense of how this compares, but $165 for less than an hour of work felt high. But all's good. My home's warm and the new motor is h*** of a lot quieter than the older one.

Description of Work: I schedule maintenance appointments on my heating and AC unit twice a year. They are always punctual, professional and extremely nice. I haven't had the summer appointment just yet (that's why I put "no" for services performed).

Description of Work: I recd several estimates for a central AC system for my home. The Whalen and Ives was competitive in price yet several thousand dollars higher than the estimate I accepted. The salesperson from Whalen and Ives was invited back for a follow-up on the plan for this older home and the ductwork. The salesperson brought his installer who was in opposition to the original plan and therefore I guess the price, too. They offered to have Mr Whalen re-estimate the home for a mini duct system for what they said would cost a bit more. They never did. It seemed like they had never seen an older home that needed an AC system. My choice for my AC system was able to install a standard AC system with little effect to my closets and home.

Description of Work: Came home to no heat on a cold and snowy night .Called this company and Dave spent half an hour on the phone with my husband telling him what to do . When it did not work Dave came over and repaired the gas heater for the time being but telling us it needed some maintenance work to it He refused any compensation saying that if we called for maintenance there was no charge for his service call I made an appointment for maintenance,however , two days later, no heat again. I again called and within two hours a serviceman came and replaced a part. Two days later the same person came back for the maintenance appointment. My husband and I are extremely pleased with this contractor. They are professional, courteous and punctual. I feel that their charges for the work they performed was also good
