EcoSystems Custom Lawn Sprinklers

Great service, easy to schedule, they were prompt and thorough offered great advice - I will be calling on them in the spring to reconfigure my sprinkler system. New to area Angies List gives me a degree of confidence that the services they connect me to will come through.

We called EcoSystems and arranged the date for winterization of our sprinkler system. They came on the arranged date and performed the service. We weren't at home at the time but we haven't seen any problem with the sprinkler plumbing. I'll update this review if I find any issues during the spring start-up.

It went well, though by the time they were able to come to my address, it was already dark outside which made the process a bit more difficult. Very professionsal though and they were easy to get in contact with. They completed all of the necessary work as well as made suggestions for what would need to be done in Spring to get the system back up to par.

Everything went well. Tom showed up on time and performed his job in a very professional manner. The job was finished in 45 minutes. I was very satisfied and I would definitely use Ecosystems again.

Technician performed a thorough check of the system and winterized it. Found small issues and was extremely helpful in finding reasonable solutions.

Professional throughout entire engagement. The lawn looked very rough after the installation but that was due to the top soil being quite soft because of rain a few days prior.

Overall, we were satisfied working with EcoSystems, who were recommended by a friend. From the first visit, presentation, property review and estimate, to winterizing the system, all of our contacts have been handled politely, promptly and professionally. We had no experience with a lawn irrigation system consequently we did not know how well some of the recommended sprinkler head locations would, or would not, reach some of our shrubs. The property survey and determination of sprinkler locations was done with us and each zone coverage area was explained and sounded reasonable to us. Not until we started to use the system could we evaluate that coverage and it turns out there were areas not getting wet, or not getting wet enough (some shrubs wilted one day after watering). EcoSystems sent someone out to make adjustments and, eventually, an additional sprinkler was added. We were charged for the additional sprinkler but the adjustments earlier were not any additional cost to us. The system has now been winterized and we will see how it does next year, considering that by August when it was installed, the grass and shrubs were already quite dry. By using the system all season long, perhaps the border areas of shrubs will do better but right now the system still does not accomplish what we were hoping to accomplish. We had lengthy discussions right from the beginning about the entire property being watered and we feel that had the initial property review been done a little more carefully, it would be watered more thoroughly. The day of installation, the crew arrived on time and worked very fast, perhaps too fast, and very hard for the entire day to finish in one day. They were polite and professional. They were fairly careful around existing plantings but we were left with a lot of lawn and plant repair which took a few days to complete. At the end of the installation, we received manuals on the controller box and the rain sensor, and were given instructions about how to use the controller box. For the price we paid, we are somewhat disappointed that all of our shrubs are not getting watered as expected but we are hopeful that, eventually, everything will all be watered as completely as the grassy areas (we found ourselves still carrying water to several plants even after the sprinkler was installed). All that being said, we are impressed with the integrity of the company and their willingness to work with us, answer our questions and make adjustments, as necessary.

Went great prompt and professional from the estimate to the install

Ecosystems installed a brand new lawn irrigation system for us in a very efficient manner. They were on time, very courteous, explained everything to me that would be happening. The entire Crew worked so diligently and neat that you would nver know they were digging up the lawn :-) At the end of the day the foreman ealked me through the setting on the timer box and explained all warranties, and paperwork to me. I would highly reccomend this company. From the estimate to the post install details, the entire staff was very responsive, professional and timely.

Ecosystems replaced our control box for my irrigation system. They were professional, pleasant and explained what the problem was.

From our initial meeting with Brian, the owner, to the installation and follow up, we were totally impressed with Brian and Ecosystems. We went over every section of our property discussing what would be needed and what could be skipped. He also pointed to a few areas that could be done, but would add a larger cost due to the logistics of the location. After installation, I was given a manual and also complete training in how to use the controller (easy), as well as how to adjust heads if I ever needed to. A few months after installation we had a problem due to some work that had been done on our lawn. I called Brian and he told me not to worry, they would take care of fixing the issue. I was worried they would try and hit me with a big repair bill, but he said this is something that can happen and they were happy to come out and fix the problem at no cost. This is the kind of integrity that is hard to find these days and another reason why I would recommend Ecosystems unreservedly.

Ecosystems was by and far the least expensive. They also do the plumbing which solves a large headache so you get an all-in-one shop. They work quite a bit in West Windsor so they know that the township has strict guidelines on permits and they have experience with the office. The plumber did a high quality job. They are organized and punctual and very responsive. The overall job was mediocre here's why. I had a new walkway installed and didn't think about leaving anything for the irrigation system. For some reason I thought the water came into our house on the side opposite of the walkway but I was wrong. Anyhow, this shouldn't be that big a deal because people install irrigation systems all the time. I expressed my concern with ecosystems when we signed the contract. They said they would dig at least 18" under the walkway instead of the their normal depth. I also told them I had a new drainage system installed and didn't want the pipes damaged. They told us they would hand dig around these pipes.... They failed to do either..... The head foreman didn't care to listen to our concerns and did what he wanted to do. Which means our target depth under the walkway was not meant and after telling us he would hand dig near the underground pipes proceeded to slice them to bits with their machine anyway. Then he decided to get all moody like a little tween girl whose cellphone was taken away by their parents. It was too much of a hassle to get the pipes repaired to my satisfaction. They insisted they could be repaired with rubber couplings. Only after wasting my time (I had to leave work to deal with the moody tween) and my wife's and speaking with our landscape architect and having the owner of ecosystems come out did they meet us halfway on the repairs. The one pipe was sliced into four different sections so I don't see how rubber couplings would fix that, but then again I don't work for ecosystems. They added one new section of pipe and my landscape architect agreed that the rubber bindings would hold on the other sections of pipe that they decided to cut. That said, one would think that after they cut the first pipe they would have stopped rather than proceeding on but that would probably mean that the people doing the installation take pride in what they do. They repaired everything (not to my satisfaction but it has been repaired). The pipes were literally a few weeks old. The rain sensor was 'installed' and by 'installed' I mean it was left dangling off my gutters. I touched it and it fell off. I have stainless steel gutter guards. I'm very happy they didn't cut through them to install the rain sensor (given how they decimated my pipes). So I just had to tighten it up but tomorrow I'll make a better bracket for it and have it properly secured. In the end the irrigation system was installed. It's nice quality material (at least they kept their word on the parts they would use). It does function so that is all good and I'm happy. In the end I would have been better off paying more for people who actually care. I understand they do this quickly to make their profit, but if they said; "hey to not damage your property I need to charge a little more" I would have paid it. If you are on a really tight budget and have no other choice then this place is good. But it might be better to pay a little more if you have anything you are concerned about it in your lawn. Also buy some pain killers that handle cramps really well and maybe some tissues for the head foreman. I will not recommend them to friends or neighbors.

After the installation everything was explained to me properly. I would definitely recommend Eco Systems for law sprinkler system. The only thing that was not checked after the installation was the Rain Sensor. Few days after the installation I found out that it was not working. I reported the issue and technician was sent to check and replace the rain sensor. Unfortunately I don't think the new sensor ever worked either. The sprinkler system works properly except the rain sensor. If getting a new system installed I would recommend getting the rain sensor checked right away after the installation is complete.

Overall it went well. They came out when they said they would and they did all of the work that they were contracted to do. We had to have them come out a second time to fix a sprinkler head that had popped out again and they said that it was one of the old heads that had been reused. They replaced it at no cost and the irrigation system is now working the way it should be. They were punctual and very professional. Other than the cost being on the high side, we were very pleased with everything.

I only wanted an estimate for the front yard with the possibility of having the back yard done in the future. The cost of the front yard was way too high for the small piece of property I own. He also gave me another estimate for the cost of the backyard at a later date. I was surprised by the cost of the 2 estimates. After speaking to other people that had had sprinkler systems installed on their properties that were much larger than mine, I felt this company was extremely expensive. In all fairness, none of the people I spoke to used this company and felt I could certainly do better if I used one of their choices. At this time, I've decided not to do anything.

Ecosystems was a pleasure to work with. From the day they came out to give me an estimate to the completion of the job, they were always professionals. The crew that came out to do the job were very good and explained everything to me. I am glad I chose to work with them and look forward to using them in the future to winterize the system and turn it on every year.

We called Ecosystems to fix 5 sprinklers. After using all the bad lawn sprinkler guys (and there are a lot of bad ones out there). The guy who came out was nice and he did the work which seems good (we haven't used the sprinklers yet so we don't know the quality of the work). I did ask him to please NOT dig up my lawn, but to cut the grass around the area so when he's done, he can put the area back in one piece and it won't look like it was dug up, he said okay, but he didn't do it. He did a hatchet job on my lawn and then charged me almost $400. I called the office and told them, they were very nice. Young lady who answered the phone was very pleasant, told me she was going to call Dave the owner; she called me back, Dave said he would have someone come out and drop seed not the same guy. I like that when the owner said he would take care of it, he did take care of it. This happened on a holiday weekend and the young lady who answered the phone (not the answer service) knew what to do and called the boss immediately and then called me back. Very professional!

It was a good experience. They were professional and they did the work as promised. The price was good but, I thought the materials could have been better. I would use them again.

EcoSystems did an excellent job. We did have 2 issues during installation. One where the provider cut into an undisclosed underground sump pump line (was fixed right away by EcoSystems). They also cut into my pool lights underground electrical line while installing the sprinkler (again, although frustrating, this was not marked by the Utility so I can't blame them). However, once this occurred, the owner of the company (Brian) came out less than an hour after it happened and obtained for me a local electrician to come over at that time and look at the issue and to set a date on when the repair could be made. Brian also offered cure the land for the electrician to keep the overall repair cost down and told me that EcoSystems would regrade and seed the area once the electrician was done with the work. In addition, he also offered me a free winterization after this sprinkler season was complete. The work was completed by the electrician yesterday. I called Brian and advised him via a voice mail that the electrician work was completed. Within less than a day, his crew came back and reseeded and regraded the problem area. For these actions, I hold EcoSystems in very high regard. Despite issues that were technically not their fault, they still provided an excellent quality service. Due to this, I would highly recommend them. Lastly, the sprinkler system works great!

Gary showed up at 8am. Was friendly and courteous. Explained everything that needed to be done and completed the job quickly, explaining what he was doing. Would use Ecosystems again.

Job was performed quickly. I recommend this company and will use them again.

Over price for replacing sprinkler heads

I never got the services. They did call back quickly after I reached out to them. I had to request a refund for the deal because they did not service my area.

Brian was a thorough professional. I have been scoping out irrigation companies for over a year and wasn't comfortable finalizing any of them before him. His price was the most competitive, his presentation the most thorough, and he just gave off an honest and straightforward vibe. I confirmed him immediately after his first presentation as I was thorough impressed, and the work done endorsed my original opinion. They came in on the scheduled date between 9 and 10 in the morning, as expected, and completed the job by 4 PM. Everything went smoothly, and I am very happy with the job they did.
