We chose to have Pella install their Designer Series casement windows with between the glass shades and roll screens in our family room about 6 yrs ago. Since then we have had Pella come out various times to replace the strike plates because we discovered the windows were not closing as tightly as they should allowing cold air to get in and for one roll screen breaking upon it's very first use!The latest problem had to do with window seal failure. I noticed last spring that one large casement window kept fogging up on the inside as the sun heated it up. I set up a service date with Pella last July only to be told that the window's glass panels were not completely closed. I paid for a service call. It is now late August and the fogging persisted so I emailed their office a photo of the window upon which it was agreed to be seal failure and that the window would be replaced. I supplied them with all inscribed numbers on the window to be sure we would get the correct one. The Repair Tech showed up in September with a new stained window, but not the right size. Instead, he checked all the windows only to discover that upon installation (SIX years AGO!!) that plastic yellow shipping clips had been left on and so thought this may be causing the problem and removed them from all windows that we had them install! He leaves the window that he brought with us, since no one else can use it. However, we never realized at the time that it wasn't even the correct window . The clip removal did nothing, I paid a labor fee and the problem continues. I make another appointment for October and now see that the adjacent window is also showing signs of seal failure and inform Pella to bring two windows. Repair Tech never shows up due to emergency and I get a phone call after waiting 3 hours. Make another appointment for November. Repair Tech shows up now with two, unstained, wrong size windows! I'm extremely annoyed now at their lack of communication and waste of many hours of my time waiting on them for these service calls that I will not be compensated for. Finally, 2 Repair Tech show up on 12/22/11 to install two stained, correct size casement windows. Upon completion I am asked to sign his computer notebook and am told the price is $192.60 . I explain that I have spoken to someone regarding a reduced cost of $120 and they say ok and have me sign off and that I would receive an invoice in the mail. This never happens unless you call them and ask for one! And of course they can't print you one from their computer while at your home. Then, my credit card statement comes in January and I am charged $192.60! I call Pella only to be told the person I spoke to is not there anymore and that was the charge for 2 men labor plus tax and that I should have also been charged travel time, but wasn't! Needless to say I am angry now, but politely tell the offfice staff that I will not be doing business with Pella in the future. They try to get you with service fees to make up for their mistakes and you'll lose many hours sceduling appointments. By now I'm sure there are other brands of windows with the features we were looking for 6 yrs. ago. I would never consider Pella again, mainly due to the lack of prompt and competent service! Everytime, I had to reschedule I was never given any priority and had to wait 4-6 wks. That's why it took almost 6 months to replace the windows!

They did a good job.  By comparison, I got a really good deal on the price from them.  There was some sort of very big special.  I received a special offer in the mail that the company advertised.  Their workmanship was very good.  The staff’s professionalism was very good.  There was one minor problem.  They were supposed to follow up with me, and they never did.  I tried to contact them and finally I gave up.  Other than that, their service was good.

They are different now. They have improved a lot from when I used them long back. The old Pella did not have blinds in the windows but the new one has it. They have excellent product. I?m very happy with the windows they have put in and so I can?t say anything bad about them. I love them. They are the best. I would use them in the future.

We are not dealing with them. They came and then we didn?t hear from them for a long time and even when we tried to contact them there was no response. We tried contacting them but they didn?t respond well. We had to call over and over again. So we decided to go the other way. They were very nice when they came but they seemed to be disinterested after that. I don?t know what that happened. We went over there and no one was available. We called them back; they didn?t call back and we still haven?t received an estimate. They first came and spent a lot of time and then we never heard from them again. We didn?t have to beg somebody to give us an estimate. I would not recommend them to others. They were prompt in giving us the first quote; we had to put off the windows for a while but when we tried contacting them later, they said they have e-mailed us the details. We are going with a different company.

Their service is horrible. The windows are fantastic but they contract out the installation. We had new sills put in and the first guy left a space between the windows and the wall, there were drips from stuff he put on, and it took us four months to get them to fix it. They wouldn?t return out phone calls and then they would send someone who would fix things but not what we thought was wrong. They kept trying to send the same horrible guy to us and finally they sent us a new contractor who took care of it. I think the price was competitive.

They were excellent. I was very impressed with them. The quality is excellent, especially on the front door. It was a custom size so they had to do some custom work, which I was afraid they wouldn't be able to match the existing architectural design such as the molding. The door is very large and not a standard door. They offered solutions to make it work and had to do some hand work. They did it seamlessly and you would not know that they had to do the extra work. They are one of the better companies that I have ever dealt with; especially with the way they treated my house. They were very clean. I have a 90-year-old house and ripping out windows can be very dirty, but they kept everything clean. I would definitely use them again. They were a little pricey.

Good product - after several attempts to replace scratched lockset, poor finish in several spots. Decent installation once it was underway - installation crew polite. Door seems to have a tight seal. Very poor to nonexistent customer service at sales and management level once contract was signed. Proceed with caution here. If we hadn't withheld large balance due, we might still be waiting.

It was a disaster. They would make appointments and not show up and the supervisor wouldn?t know where his men were. He sent the men here and then called them off the job because they had to be someplace else. It was not a good experience. They would call me back, but depending on who called I would get conflicting information. I would call one person, who would say that someone was coming that day, and later in the day when nobody showed up, I would call and they?d say that nobody was scheduled to come that day. They ordered the wrong hardware, the doors didn?t sit properly and they came back many times before they finally got it right. I was not really thrilled with the way the work turned out. I just got tired of it. We ordered the doors in the middle of April and they were scheduled to install on the 26th of May - we were still fooling around with them three weeks later. The hardware didn?t come for a month, and in between they were here at least 4 times. They had to paint the exterior trim because they didn?t have an aluminum siding color that matched what we needed. I couldn?t get them to send the painter. Then they sent the painter before they sent the carpenter to put up the trim. They would call and tell me that someone was coming and I would sit home all day. Fortunately, since I am recently retired, it wasn?t too bad, but I can?t imagine what it would have been like if I had been working and had taken time off from work. My husband took off the day that they were supposed to do the installation because they said they would have the whole thing done in one day. They were nowhere near done. They didn?t have the right pieces. The doors themselves are beautiful but the installation process was a nightmare. We spent $4500 on these doors. The doors are expensive everywhere. We had gotten other estimates, and I know that price-wise they were not that far out of line. The doors look nice now and yet they don?t fit exactly the way they should. They told us that double doors never really fit perfectly because you have to have a little play but they didn?t tell us that before. One installer that they sent was really good and when he showed up, he actually solved our problem, but the others didn?t really seem to know what they were doing. Actually, it was after I dealt with them that I joined Angie?s List. I would never use them again nor would I recommend them to anybody.

I did not have a good experience. I feel that they do not have any customer satisfaction. I had these installed in the winter and I know that they were not insulated around the door and windows because of the whistling. I had a heck of a time getting this company to recognize that the door was warped. I had to have 3 professional opinions to verify that I need to have them replace it. I feel that there were only 2 people that work there who care. I can't even say that I would buy anything there or have them install it, when you can go to a home supply store and buy Pella windows.

Pella Window Store has excellent quality windows, but four of the ones we bought don't function right. Our contractor has called them many, many times and has not gotten a response. It has been almost a year and still we have the non-functioning windows. They are not a very professional business.

Windows went in fine, but afterwords, noticed that they did not lock well, took one person to hold the top part up and another to hold the bottom down. Then it can be locked. When I complained, they said the window had to be kept closed and locked for the gaskets to break in. Well waited 2 months, said to wait....waited 1 yr....told to wait...now they want to chance to come out! Go with another company! Pellao has been a big disappoint.

The actual installation was fine. The installers did a good job. They were courteous, cleaned up every day, and seemed to know what they were doing. However, one piece of hardware was ordered in the wrong color. It took 5 months for Pella to get the correct color ordered after 4 tries--which meant my staying home from work 4 times to wait for the technician to come, each time with the mistaken hardware. The "customer service" staff did not return calls. Then they hounded me for the 1% of the bill that I had withheld until they completed the job. The windows are pricey because we pay for techs to make wasted trips, not because the windows are made any better!

We purchased a replacement front door with sidelights. When it was unwrapped, after our old door had been removed, we realized that the finish was damaged throughout. It had bee wrapped wet and the finish stuck to the plastic wrap. Door hardware was also missing. After many visits by service techs and company reps, it was finally re-finished completely. This took almost a year. Also, the interior arrived with the wrong finish. We were supposed to get a refund for the difference. This also took almost a year, and when the check arrived it was for the wrong amount. The local dealer blamed the problems on corporate Pella, who blamed the problems on the local dealer, owned by a company called Luxe Homes( I think). Now, two months later, the molding is shifting. I have yet another service scheduled. Service takes up to 4 weeks to schedule.
