The move started at 9:30 and by 10:30 one of the men had to be replaced because he would not get "wet" and walk outside in the rain. The man that replaced him told the boy that was left that he was not strong enough to do what had to be done so he walked off the job by 12:00 PM. That left me with one man and a man sixty years old that was supposed to stay in the truck and organize everything. The move that started at 9:30 ended at 4:30 A.M. They wanted to charge me $4,000 but with all my screaming they settled for $2,500. I was told to go to my neighbors and get the money or they would take my furniture. They also make you sign a disclosure before they will start that they are not responsible for anything.
My nephew had to help them pack the truck and move the boxes as two men were not enough. However my nephew should not have had to do it. They also had trouble getting my couch out of the house and told me to leave it there as they could not move it. I took the molding off the door and it was done. Obviously the couch got in so it should get out.
I thought these were reputable people being in business for so long but the damage that was caused was unbelievable. They cracked my mirror in the bedroom and could not put the bedroom together without the mirror. The mirror is the back of the bed. They ripped my couch which was new. My beige coffee table was put on the sidewalk in the rain and was stained. When bringing in my furniture they scratched my new wood floor by the front door (the floor had just been put down two days earlier). They did not put together the second bedroom because they were "tired".
Lastly the covers they used to cover my furniture were so filthy and dirty it was unbelievable. They were thrown on the floor outside in the rain and then they wanted to cover my furniture with them.
I was in touch with the lawyer to pay for the cracked mirror which was going to cost me $170 to fix and was basically told to go to h***.
