I was in a rush to get this basement converted to a room for my daughter. Last minute. I called Telly, explained my rush, he came over the next day, gave me a quote, was able to get two guys for that Saturday to meet my deadline. The two workers came on time, covered my floor and rug, put plastic on my walls, sprayed every nook and cranny of the ceiling black (it looks fantastic) and then painted the floor. Telly even suggested some gold sparkles on the floor to make it  look a little nicer! They finished, cleaned up, and left the place beautiful. I would highly recommend them and will call them for my next painting job. I felt safe leaving them in the house as I had to go to work for a few hours as well. AND, they left my bathroom and kitchen sink clean! Thanks Angie's List for recommending Big Dog Construction LLC!!

I am not happy. It didn’t move forward to what was promised. They didn’t follow through, maybe not Kelly but the designer. They didn’t follow through as quickly as we anticipated and the last conversation I had, I informed him that we wanted to move forward pretty quickly and I think it was a week or two later the designer contacted us. By the time she got back, the project had moved to a different direction. The initial impression was fine, I would even consider working with the contractor, not the designer because I was put in delay in lack of responses from the designer but when we met, they were fine but the follow through wasn’t what was expected. The responsiveness wasn’t great. We asked for modifications, we took our time to bend over but by the time they sent the modifications we just moved on. The price was fine. She showed up late for the appointment.

The service provider responded to my purchase within the two day time frame, but due to the scheduling times I decided to cancel the deal.

Telly's team of worker's, Mario, Marco and Ricky including Telly arrived.  We reviewed the work to be performed.  While painting, I decided I wanted additional work done; bath fixtures for 3 bathrooms, switching laundry room door to swing out and all of the trim was bonded and repaired and painted, interior railings were re-installed for safety, shaved the interior doors which were rubbing against new carpet and many other items etc.  
Telly readily accomodated my requests and provided suggestions that were superior and I readily agreed.  I should mention that I had also contacted a provided from "another" service similar to Angie's list to come and perform another specific task related to the laundry room.  That individual arrived while the workers from Big Dog Construction were hard at work.  This provider came in and complained about the task.  I told him I changed my mind (since he was complaining)  Telly, observed this interaction and after the provider left, Telly made a suggestion which was superior, obtained the special product and returned days later to have his workers complete the installation.  At the last minute I asked them to install a large curtain rod in the living room.  No problem. This clearly is my go to contractor of choice.  I realize they typically perform full renovations and similar work, but this job was not too small for Big Dog Construction.
Telly didn't ask for a deposit which was unusual and I really wanted to give a deposit, he said no, not until the work is done.  Amazing.  I've been in my home about a month now and I'm so happy and grateful for finding Telly and his staff and had the work performed when I did.   I highly recommend Big Dog Construction!

It was a pleasure meeting Telly. He was completely up front and honest about what the job would entail and how much it would cost. He promised to save us money wherever he could and he delivered on that promise. I'm not used to having pleasant experiences with contractors. Telly is truly an exception. I feel like I not only gained a professional I can rely on in the future, I also gained a friend. As I'm sure many of you can relate, the jobs around the house just got to be too numerous for me to keep up with. Telly and his crew did an excellent job and have made me feel good about my home again. Now, our house is the eye candy of the neighborhood instead of the eye sore. His crew were here on time everyday. They were always courteous, professional, and beyond that...personable. They made it their goal to make sure we were pleased with the work. One guy asked me several times if my wife was pleased with what she saw. My wife, who has very high standards and expectations, IS very pleased with what she saw. If you have a job(s) around the house and need to hire a contractor, you cannot go wrong when you contact Telly.

Let me start off by saying that Telly is a gentleman. He is very professional, honest , and an expert at what he does. His work cannot be matched by anybody. His crew showed up on time and ready to work everyday, they were a pleasure to deal with. After they finished everyday they cleaned up and left the house spotless. The job was suppose to take 2 weeks but telly managed to get the job done in less time. The quality of the work was never compromised. Telly would consult me for decision making when needed. So one morning I went downstairs to make a cup of coffee and in the kitchen i saw a leak dripping down though the ceiling. After cutting drywall out and finding the source of the leak, it was necessary for me to take down the walls of my master bathroom in order to gain access to the hallway bathroom plumbing so on short notice, we needed a contractor to fix our master bathroom. I looked on angies list and found Telly's company listed as number one. Telly answered his phone immediately and spoke to me for a solid 15 minutes about my project and concerns. That day I called 6 other contractors and only got in touch with one who told me my small master bath 5x9 foot would be an 8000$ project just in labor alone without walking in my door. Telly came to our house within 36 hours and spent an hour and a half with us discussing our two full bathrooms and options we had. Telly was able to accommodate on short notice, his crew arrived 15 minutes early every day and was neat, clean, with drop clothes and cardboard laid over our recently refinished hardwood floors. Telly also provided us with insight as to how to minimize expenses when purchasing materials and gave many style tips along the way, including a step in the shower. The only piece of the bathroom we had to contract out was the shower door at Shore Glass of West Long Branch which we were very happy with as well. We will have Telly back at our house again for our next project. Highly recommend. Felt safe and secure with his crew working here. A+

Telly and his crew did an excellent job.  The new kitchen looks fantastic.

He completed the work in about a week, because we had a big list. He was her for about 8 hours each day. I liked his attitude, it was always positive and he was totally honest with everything that we dealt with. He was creative with his material to save us money.

he made 1 visit so far to the house but is going to come again to change the design & sit down with me. he took his time the 1st visit. made me very comfortable with his whole professional demeanor. he is very willing to tolerate my search for "the look" i need to find, he is very helpful. nice man. if he comes up with a design i am 100% comfortable with, i would absolutely let him do the job.

They were amazing ! The more we took down the more issues we found. Telly worked with us adjusting the estimate. He was present during entire renovation from start to finish which in total took only about a week or so . We had major fix and replace / tear down issues from Sandy . He is a bit of a perfectionist so if you're wanting to cut corners , he's not your guy . He will only do it right! He is personable, professional and focused. Best of all he is all about quality and someone you can depend on . Also, he is HONEST!! He is not the only contractor I have dealt with . I am on top of my game and I can say that with 100% confidence. I do recommend him to anyone that asks. Loved the work !

Excellent experiece.  Very skillful, creative, neat and responsive to our needs. Very fair pricing, and extremely honest person to deal with.  We highly recommend Big Dog and definitely will use them again.

The only reson we did not use him was that we wanted a special type of spray foam insulation that he could not provide, other wise he was very compasionate, helpful, & price was very reasonable.
I was so impressed with him, that I recommended him to my son & daughter-in-law to use for a large basement remodel.

Great company.. overall. We met with Telly again last week for an estimate on damages inside our house. His estimate was fair . What was truly unique was his willingness to help us with our budget by allowing us to contact his contact cutting out the middle man and lowering our budget. In my experience, this was a first!  I really liked his down to earth yet very straight approach. He's very knowledgeable and from what I heard from a neighbor who used him., He made the disaster of Sandy bareable because of his fun personality..  Quality work, fair price and a willingness to take a little less if it will help the customer more..  You don't see that everyday or at least I don't!

They have done work in my office and it was beautiful. They are very good and very busy. The work is really exquisite. I will be having him do the work at my house also. He is very busy; because he is good. He has lot of clients. I like that he is responsible and has a good eye for work. He has decorator's eye. He is little bit expensive; but I'm fine for him to charge and do the job properly than charge me less and have to have done it over again, which is how I got in touch with him firstly. He started doing work, if someone else has done badly. I'm very pleased with his work.
