Hortensia Cleaning Service LLC

Initially I was pleased with their cleaning services, however, one day after they visited I noticed splatter marks that would not come off of our marble bathroom floor. They were relatively responsive, although did suggest that perhaps I was responsible for the marks (which I know is not true). They got a floor person to try to fix the problem and were able to make it better although not perfect. They suggested that a few additional waxings would help. They next time they came to clean I noticed streak marks across the same floor. Although I attempted to get them here to look at/fix the problem, they have been noncommital and now non-communicative for cleaning or fixing the problem. I would not recommend their services.

The staff was professional . Our additional requests included, washing the windows inside, the dusting of walls, ceilings, ceiling fans, lights, tops of dressers, hutches and wiping down inside of oven and mircowave.We were asked to inspect work before they left. Hortensia Cleaning Service was focussed on cleaning our home to our satisfation. We intend to use them on a regular basis.

fantastic job. First time house had been cleaned in ages. Didn't miss a corner--windows, shelves, bedrooms, etc. Everything in beautiful condition. Lovely people--not far from my mother's house in Central NJ . Will use them on a regular basis. Highly recommended for elderly people who don't have the stamina to clean

Three ladies showed up and got right to work, starting upstairs and working their way down. They polished all the furniture, cleaned the bathrooms and vacuumed the floors. I told them the floors were newly finished, so they were careful. When finished, everything sparkled and "smelled" clean. I have never used a cleaning service before, but I am seriously considering using them on a regular basis. (PS - my husband got me another round of cleaning for Christmas, which I plan to use for spring cleaning!)

I was completely satisfied and it was not bad too; it was enough. They were very friendly. I can trust them to do things the way they want. They didn't really go to the whole house to check whether they've done their cleaning and that's what I don't like about them. I might use them again if they reduce the cost.

They did everything that you would expect someone to do when they come to clean the house. I have 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. They sent out 3 or 4 people. We set up a date and time, and they didn't make it up to my house on the day they were supposed to come, and they were very good about calling. They showed up the next day, which turned out to be okay, but it was weird. Then it was about when I was setting up the next appointment, and I said I would call them. The next week, someone called me to say they would send someone out the next day. I told them that we hadn't set up anything. I had told them to have someone call me, but they just assumed and went ahead and booked it. I can understand that they were delayed at the other job that they were doing, and that is why they could not show up the first time. I keep the toilet cleaning brush in a little plastic container in each of my 3 bathrooms, and after they left, one of them was gone. I think it is probably exactly the same as what they use, and they took it with them. I think it must have been an accident, but I had to go and buy a new one. I would not accuse them of taking it, because who would steal a toilet brush. Had the scheduling thing been different, I would have completely overlooked the toilet brush thing, but I did not like the whole scheduling aspect with them. They were very nice, very professional, and they did a very nice job, but I don't need that.

I actually contacted them because I was not at all happy with their work. Their reviews online were pretty good. I was nine months pregnant with a week to deliver and I was on bed rest so I needed a houseclean. I ended up having to spend 2 hours after they cleaned it and doing it myself. I have a hardwood floor and furniture on sliders and I moved it. Cleaned behind the bed and behind dressers and stands. In the corner, there were gloves with dust. They did other stuff like I asked them to clean my blinds and they did all that. The little thing that would be the first thing that you would go to as the owner whenever you clean your own house, you go the corners of the room. It was the first time that I had a cleaning service and I went online and read some reviews and everything. They had a crew of three people coming out. They got started right away. The house smelled great, I'll tell you that. When I moved in my magazine rack in the kitchen, it wasn't even under the furniture that you can't see the dirt. I haven't even let them touch the baby's room because it was freshly painted and pretty much freshly cleaned so it didn't need to be touched. It was three bedrooms upstairs, a living room and a dining room and a kitchen and two and half baths. Obviously, in three or four hours, I will never get all that done. It was those kinds of things that really kind of turn me off. I would have called them back if they did a good job for general cleaning once in a while because when you have a newborn, you just can't get to it because of things coming up. I actually called them immediately when I actually saw this and they promised that somebody would call me back and nobody ever did. I've sent them an e-mail and I never heard back from them.

Marilyn and her crew did an excellent job. They were extremely thorough and punctual.

I actually purchased a coupon deal through Angie's list and wasn't sure how it would go. I have to say, they did a wonderful job! They came in and got to work right away, cleaning, dusting, and mopping from top to bottom. They were extremely friendly and willing to do beyond what I expected. Because of the excellent service, I asked for them to come on a regular basis.

I have used Hortensia Cleaning Service LLC. for a few months, every two weeks or so. Initially the cleaning they did was good. For the first couple of weeks that is… But after that, depending on which cleaning team was sent to my house, it was any thing from OK to mediocre and even less than OK. The two constant peeves that I had with them were- they were often as late as an hour and did not clean properly- would leave the stove un-cleaned, would not vacuum properly, won’t dust furniture in the guest bedroom, or some parts of the master bed room furniture so on and so forth. But then one experience with them (my last one, I assure you) on Saturday, January 4, 2013 was really over the top unprofessional for me when they took their unprofessional practice to a totally new level. I had booked their service for that Saturday afternoon well in advance. Kim, the girl who does the scheduling at their office had confirmed me for 2-3 PM on Saturday, January 4. She had also called me on that morning to reconfirm the appointment. I had many guests over in the holidays and really needed my house clean now. So it was very important that I get the cleaning done that day. Also since I work in NYC M-F, so weekend is the only time that I can get the work done. The appointment time came. But no cleaning service. It was past 3 PM, still no response or sighting of the cleaning service. I called Kim and left her a message. She called back to tell me that the cleaning people will get here by 4 PM, as they are coming from far. I am not happy, but since I have already canceled my other activities for the day and have been waiting for them since 2 PM, I agree to wait till 4 but tell Kim that I am not happy about this 4 pm. At 4 PM no cleaning service.. 4:30 pm no cleaning service, then at 4:45 pm still no service… I call Kim again… she says ok give me a couple of minutes I will call you back after I speak with them… after about 15 minutes I get a call from a new number, it is one of the cleaning ladies, who has come several times to my house… she says they will be at my place by 5 PM and the reason they were late is that they had many houses to clean today due to the cancellations from yesterday on account of the storm… well shouldn’t they have rescheduled those cancellations for some time other than the time they had already confirmed for me? Should not they have informed me at the beginning of the day that this is what has happened, so that if I wanted I could have rescheduled their service for some other day? Instead they kept m waiting for 2 and a half hours, giving one excuse from another and even then not coming up to clean my house. So by now I am totally unhappy with this level of unprofessionalism and ineptness from them… I made my last call to their main number around 5:30 PM and instead of Kim, a guy named Nelson answered, who claimed to be the brother of owner Hortensia… first he said, he did not know what happened and let me check… and when I told him what had actually happened, he changed his statement to because of yesterday’s cancellations, they had to reschedule those for today.. and when I asked why was my time given to others he had no answer…No one bothered to apologize for putting me through this head ache and inconvenience. I will never use them again!!

The 3 ladies did a wonderful and very thorough job!! The house looks great and I can't wait to have them back for another cleaning session!

Nelson and his crew have an attention to detail and a friendly demeanor at all times that is rare nowadays. They also were very attentive to speical requests regarding pets. They're top notch and I've already recommended them to friends who also loved them!

They did a bad job. When I called them to let them about the issues they said a manager would call me back. They never called me back. I had just gotten my floors re-done so there really wasn't They didn't clean the top of the fridge (covered in dust) and there was a film left on the bathtubs and sink. The cleaning overall could have been better. They broke one of our blinds. Scheduling was fine.

Fine, team of 3 worked for 3 hrs.

What a nice change to know your house is fully clean.

I wouldn't buy it again. I gave them very specific instructions in regards to what I wanted cleaned and they didn't really pay attention to them. Their cleaning was not overly impressive. My interaction with the provider was fine.

It was easy to schedule an appointment and they arrived on time. Two crew members stayed for five hours each. They were hard working and did a good job. There were no additional costs beyond the prepaid rate of the deal. Everything went fine.

They did everything I asked for and more. There were three polite, trustworthy, genuinely nice, hard working individuals who were extremely efficient, thorough and meticulous. They did an amazing job and I would use them again. I have already reccommended them to a friend and she had an equally positive experience. They are worth every penny.

Services were performed well. The lead woman was very responsive to my requests, going back to make sure that things were done to my satisfaction.

It went fine. It was actually less than 10 hours, so I felt like the fine print of the Deal was misleading. The quality of their work was satisfactory. In terms of organizing my pantry, they just didn’t have the skills needed for that type of work.

The service was excellent. They were really good. I was happy with the cleaning.

Scheduling was very good. The big deal turned out very good. They cleaned very well and they were terrific.

She was really really good! She had a big team here. She really worked diligently to make me happy.
