They did a great job. Our dogs were happy and comfortable there. They did a great job with Henry since he is a puppy and can't stand still for very long!

I'm bringing my parent's dog in for grooming. My mom has been in the hospital for months, so I've been helping out. I drop the dog off without incident. About 5 minutes later, they call me up to say the dog has been 'banned' and pick him up. When I pick him up they say that he is a bad dog and is difficult even with heavy tranquilizers.
I'm glad they called me up. I didn't want them to sedate my dog. It is just a grooming.
When I took to my folks, they say the last time they brought him there, there were some complaints, but Barkingham never said anything about banning him. Mom didn't want him going back there, because the place creeped her out.

"I would like to begin by saying that this poor dog Prince has been brought into my shop about 3 times and each time he is so matted and uncared for that I should have contacted the ASPCA for animal cruelty. I have never ever groomed a dog with such severe matting.. Iwould beg and explain to the owners that they must groom their dog more than once a year but they never listened. This dog hates to be groomed and would viciously try to bite while it took hours to remove all of the casted on mats. I told the owners on the last visit that he must come in on a regular basis and needed to be tranquiled as I dont want my assistant or I to get bit and don't want to hurt the dog. It is illegal for a grooming salon to tranquilize a dog and I never would tranquilize a dog at the shop....that is up to the owner...period. When this new person called up and made the appointment, they used the same last name but they lied about the breed they had so I never put two and two together. If I thought it was for Prince, I would have only accepted him back if he were tranquiled and in good shape. When Prince arrived he could barley walk he was so matted. The animal abuse that is going on in this family is unbelievable and this did not happen because the patents were in the hospital....the dog always looks like this. This poor dog needs to be taken away from these negligent people and given to people who care and love him. I felt horrible about his condition but it is not fair for me to be put in a dangerous situation.. I kindly told the son that he must pick up the dog because he lied on the phone and that I could not handle Prince. This person clearly has no idea what it takes to remove the most severe matting I have ever seen off a dog. I do believe the ASPCA should be contacted in this situation as the only one suffering here is that poor dog who has to live with owners that are incapable of caring for another life."

After my golden retriever was butchered by a former groomer, I decided that it was time to find another groomer. I came across Barkingham Palace after conducting a google search. I was pleased with the positive ratings and decided to contact them. And I must say, I am so very happy that I did. Not only was Shari polite, professional and very understanding, but she worked with my schedule and setting an appointment was very easy and convenient! My first visit there went very smoothly. I explained to her that my golden was a young, loving, and very hyper boy and that he wouldn't really be too much of a problem. I also brought my German Shepherd, a rescue with a horrible past, and let her know that she is EXTREMELY nervous and anxious and that she would be a very loud handful but not a dangerous threat. We left my dogs in her care and she called me after some time to let me know that my shepherd's fur was very matte and she would have to shave her down and wanted to be sure I was okay with that. I absolutely appreciated her phone call and I okay'd her suggestion. When they were done they gave me a call again and we went back to pick up our dogs. I was VERY pleased with the outcome! I was also relieved that she was able to handle my shepherd because of how difficult she can be. Today 7/25/15, was my second visit to the Barkingham Palace. I brought the dogs in, let Shari know that I wanted a repeat of my last visit, and left my dogs with her. This time around it took a little longer than before. I was worried because, as I would end up realizing, that I correctly assumed that it was because my shepherd that was giving her a hard time. When we got the the call to pick my dogs up she sounded exhausted and sure enough when we got there and I asked how my shepherd was, she let me know just how tremendously difficult it was to groom her. Not only was I mortified, but I apologized profusely. I could not apologize enough! I should have known better and should have given my shepherd a tranquilizer. Shari was very kind and very polite in explaining the situation but all I could do was feel terrible. With all of that being said, she miraculously pulled it off and did a lovely job on my shepherd. And my golden looked good too! I can not be more grateful to Shari for finishing such a daunting task and even more appreciative that she was professional and kind enough not to tell me to not come back!! Rest assured, our next visit will be handled correctly on my behalf because I most certainly would like to continue utilizing their services!

I actually feel terrible because the worst part of my job is telling doggie parents that their dog is difficult and would benefit from a tranquilizer, I felt so sorry for Sonya....she is a super sweet girl who is just extremely nervous and does not enjoy the grooming process. Rescues are often very nervous dogs because of their terrible pasts....I know this only two well as I currently have 4 rescues of my own, two of which have major issues. These poor dogs just need extra time and patience while being groomed and tranquilizer just makes them feel a little less anxious during the grooming. [Member Name Removed] could not have been more apologetic and more willing to work with me...what a great great family and what great dog owners. They are more than welcome back at my shop anytime and I will always promise to do my best to make Sonya feel as comfortable and a calm as I can while she is here with me."

I was lucky enough to call at the right time and there was a cancellation. Due to an emergency, my son had to take my little boy in for me. Shari called me to see exactly what I wanted done (this is one smart lady, I guess she instinctively knew that my son had no clue!). I requested a full Spa day for my little one and they did not disappoint. They did an AMAZING job. His cut was PERFECT, he smells SO GOOD and he was a happy little guy when he was collected. I have already scheduled his next appointment.

I was overwhelmed to see our 4 month mini golden-doodle after her first salon session. Amazing and true value for money. The ladies are truly accommodating and professional. This was my first visit here and can confidently say I will go here for the rest of the time to come.

They do have a staff so the owner delegates different jobs to her employees. She mentioned that my dog barked a lot but he is a terrier so I don't know what she expected and it gave me an uneasy feeling. Overall I feel this place is adequate. Your dog will look good when he leaves but she was more expensive then other dog groomers I looked into.

"I must say that this price is completely inaccurate ....I have never ever charged more than 58.85 for a Westie. If the dog had fleas or had its teeth brushed, I would charge $5.00 extra."

They were wonderful! Our pup Bearr was nervous in a new place as always but they were welcoming, warm and affectionate. The shop had a fantastic atmosphere, I felt very comfortable leaving my pup in their hands. The service took about an hour and a half and when I picked Bearr up he was happy and cheerful, and looking handsome. They listened to all my instruction on what Bearr needed for areas that we know from experience need to be much shorter than the rest of his hair, and all the other laundry list of instructions for his cut style. We look forward to seeing them again in about a month and half to two months (depending on how fast he refuzzies). Thanks so much! :)

We've taken our dog, Holly, to Barkingham Palace on two occasions to be groomed. Both times we have been extremely pleased with the results. Holly doesn't like being groomed so it's somewhat of a task. The owner takes her time and works well with Holly.
My daughter also uses their services for her dog and has been very pleased with the attention given and results received.

I have been using for two or three years. They always do a pretty good job. They are very punctual, flexible in pickup time and will call to remind you of your appointment. I have never had an issue with them, they are excellent. If I cancel within a reasonable time, they are fine with that. They are friendly. My dog has no problem going there.

They took our longhaired Dachshund and did a fantastic job. I also noticed that they were grooming another Dachshund and Cocker Spaniel..gorgeous coats! They were extremely friendly and you could tell they care about animals..price is fair too. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Called with short notice and my appointment was set for a late evening which was great fro my schedule. My dog was groomed, looked and smelled great. It only took 1 hour so she was not left in a cage as she was with the "chain" groomers. It was also reasonably priced. They have a new loyal customer. Happy Holidays to all at Barkingham Palace.

When I went to pick up my dog she was jumping around happy and yappy and getting all sassy and playful with Shari which told me that my dog had a very pleasant grooming experience and that she had been treated with gentleness and kindness. My Dog smelled fresh and clean. Her coat was a shiny brilliant testimony to the wonderful woman (I need to get her name so that I can properly recognize her here) who gave my dog a bath. We are looking forward to out next appointment. Went for our scheduled appointment today and it was as good as the first. My dog looks excellent and is very happy. We made another appointment for 6 weeks from now. I definately am going to have Shari ( groomer) booked for the rest of the year. Also, the name of the woman who gave my dog the bath is Aishleen.
UPDATE 15 months later. .We are still using Barkingham Palace and Zoe is still one happy camper. .Zoe is now officially 14 years old and warty, her coat is thinning with age. .. Our vet recommended to keep her on the longer side now to avoid sunburn in the summer and Shari has done a great job taking that into consideration when grooming her as seen here in our latest photo, she is neat and clean, her coat is shiny and brilliant... Yes, we definitely have our forever groomer, Thank you Shari!
UPDATE JULY 2, 2014 NEW PUPPY...Our new puppy Tippi is a total puppy terror! We started taking her to Shari as soon as she had all of her shots. We take Tippi every 2 weeks for either a full groom or just a bath and brush out so she gets used to being groomed. Shari takes her time with Tippi and is very patient with a our new puppy's antics. Through Shari's perseverance Tippi has become well behaved for grooming and is getting used to the routine without drama or trauma. Shari is doing a great job and her prices are still very reasonable.

If I could rate this provider higher than an "A", I would! Shari was a delight to meet after my negative experience with my dog's last groomer. She takes one dog at a time - I had my dog back in under 90 minutes. Best of all, he came out looking great and and totally calm and relaxed.
