"According to the craftsman who did the job and has in excess of 20 excellent reviews on AL., he had two large plastic contractor trash bags on the floor when he scraped the loose paint off the wall. When he returned later in the day when the spackle dried, he used a full sized drop cloth that day and the next when he finished the job. He did ask to use their vacuum to pick up the initial paint chips which was inappropriate and we apologize for that request. It is our policy never to use customer equipment and the craftsman involved has been so reminded."
"We would like to take credit for this nice review but we have no record of this customer in our database. By this response, we are asking that Angie's List try to find out to whom this review belongs."
"We are not sure what the customer means by "you don't know who is going to show up to do the work." All customers get a call from us introducing the craftsman who is going to call to schedule an appointment to assess the job before the craftsman calls. Not only did this customer get this call, but we also sent her an e-mail on both service occasions with links to both men's biographies, pictures of work they had done and customer reviews they received."
"It is obvious that the work done at this customer’s home in totally unacceptable. What we cannot fathom is why the customer would continue to pay the craftsman interim payments when she saw such unacceptable work going on and sign off on the job at the end under a statement “I have inspected the work and found it satisfactory.” We will send anyone who wants to see this a copy as we cannot attach documents to our response. Even more unfathomable is why she would not call us and express her concerns about the work. If we had seen the pictures she is now posting, (17 months after the job was done), we would have taken the craftsman off the job and come personally with another craftsman who would have corrected the problems. There is no way we would have sent the same craftsman back to the job given the quality of the work he did. In conclusion, writing a review 17 months after the fact when we have had no chance to correct the customer’s concerns seems rather ridiculous and unfair to us. As we have stated before, if anyone has any concern about work being done in their home they can call either 914-345-1155 or 221-794-3993 and speak to me, the owner, Stephen White."
