Overall, I had a horrible experience with this company & I would not recommend them to anyone.

We try to choose the equipment we deal with with care, unfortunately, it sounds as though this particular unit was incredibly troublesome. We sincerely apologize for any unpleasant experience or hardships that you incurred, for this there is no excuse. It is noted that our communication came to a close at the end of 2013 with the removal and refund of your purchase, however if you ever wish to discuss the matter further, we would be happy to contact you with your permission."

The estimate arrived in a reasonable amount of time, though I had a couple of issues with it. I saw the inclusion of a surge protector which we had never discussed, and the exclusion of a direct-vented hot water heater that was also part of the scope of the job I wished to have performed. To be honest, I never even followed up about this as the estimate was thousands above the nearest quote, and ultimately around $6000 above the estimate I accepted from another company which included the hot water heater.
I do have to express my thanks to Andy and the team at Vaughan for looking into my eligibility for a special energy savings program that would have provided 0% financing for 10 years. I didn't end up qualifying (wasn't told why precisely), but they were able to offer me 3 years with 0%. If someone wanted just to replace the units themselves and not install all of the duct work as well, the price might come out to where that 3-year financing would be very helpful.
My overall sense of the company is that they probably do quality work, but want to sell you on home performance packages that might go above and beyond what you are actually wanting to do. At the end of the day I'm left wondering how their price came in SO much higher than three other competitors.

Aside from our commitment to your satisfaction, we also offer a wide variety of indoor air quality products (i.e. steam humidifiers) as well as service plans. Our pricing on service plans varies from complete coverage, discounted pricing/parts on your heat/ac systems. The reason we offer a variety of services and equipment is so we can better meet our customers needs without compromising a quality experience. It seems as though our complete listing of services was not communicated to you and for that I apologize. Should you choose to call on Vaughan again in the future, we would like the opportunity to perform any work quoted to you so that you can experience the value of our services. The new higher efficiency heat pump is working very well as is the new A/C unit. Looking forward to greatly reduced electric bills since neither both units had been running too much due to the problems.
