MCOE is a second generation electrical contractor that has been serving Monmouth and Ocean counties since 1954. We are a licensed electrical contractor in the state of NJ (#8176) We pride ourselves on being large enough to accommodate all your electrical needs, but small enough to provide personalized service to each of our customers. Our Master electricians are trained in all aspects of electrical work. We have ten fully insured bonded crews. We offer free proposals to each customer. All work is either contracted by proposal or charged based on an hourly rate with charges for the actual material used. We know that each customer and job is unique and we invoice accordingly. 5% Angie's List customer discount on your first visit.

Work was done quickly, neatly, professionally, and with minimal disruption. I'm very happy with the results. I intentionally didn't pick the lowest cost estimate, but instead picked the one that I had most confidence in their abilities. I think Mike Chambers Oakhurst Electric was the best choice.

They did a good job and determined there was not an electrical problem. The issue was more related to the furnace. I apreciate their honesty and I would highly recommend them. They are genuine, easy to talk to and they are likeable people. I will definitely use them again.

Mike Chambers ' team did an excellent job. My wife and I had a relatively straightforward request - install two quad outlets in a room with only one existing outlook (on a different, but adjacent wall). We got a couple of other estimates in the $1,200 range. In one case, an electrician said he would tap the existing outlet and then would need to cut a channel in the wall to the new outlets. The other said he would have to cut out holes in the drywall at multiple points between the existing and new outlets. In both cases, we would have to repair the drywall, spackle, and paint. Greg from Mike Chambers' came out and suggested tapping an outlet in the room next door. This way, he could snake wires from the existing outlet to the new outlets and would not have to do any damage to the walls. Greg's team ended up doing the job for a fraction of the cost and completed the work in about 35 minutes (the other's estimated a 4-6 hour job). We couldn't believe how painless and relatively inexpensive this project was, especially after the other estimates we received. I would highly recommend Mike Chambers - they are knowledgeable and ethical!

He went directly to panel. Found the correct circuit. Discovered the breaker was failing. Surprised to find it could not be removed, By-passed that one. Installed new breaker. Problem solved !

The installer had nailed the connector shut and it completed the circuit so now my AC wouldn't shut off! Mike fixed it all.

The transformer installation was fine. The electrician (Wes) seemed very knowledgeable, and very professional. Pricing seemed to be on par with other quotes. Response time was a bit waned, as we had to follow up with them on getting quotes and the coordinator Sharon seemed a bit frazzled and curt with a busy schedule. If I had one sugestion, it would be that the Friday before the installation (which was supposed to be Monday), they contacted us and said that the electrician is on vacation (returning Monday) and they were not sure if he had all the right parts, to move it to Tues. A little more advance notice would have been appreciated as this home is an hour away from our primary residence and we have to take off work to come down. They knew that when we booked our appt 2 weeks earlier :). Otherwise, great job!

I found two electrical contractors through Angie’s list and set up time for an estimate. Each sales representative arrived on time, took stock of the work required, clearly described the process and what I should expect as the final product, and within a few days, I had two estimates for the work. The estimate from Mike Chambers Oakhurst Electric was lower, but it was not the price that sold me. It was my experience with the sales person, the office staff, and the fact that they are a family owned business that sold me. I contracted with Mike Chambers Electric and I am so glad I did. The entire experience was effortless. I have worked with many types of contractors in the past and always have had to fight with them to honor the unwritten but spoken agreement for their work. This was not so with Mike Chambers Electric. The team arrived on the job on-time, allowed me to watch their work and ask questions, and completed the work in one day. The team was hard working and respectful of my Mother when she came outside to observe their progress. I cannot say enough good things about my experience and the professionalism of the team. They did a fabulous job. It was a very good price for three systems and the breaker. They were in and out of there and it took an hour at the most. They cleaned up and took their boxes with them.

This is the first vendor I used from Angie's list, and I am now a believer. I was skeptical on why this service was worth the money, but after my experience with Chambers Electric I am a happy member.
Chambers Electric was fantastic! They came out on time, fixed the circuit issue quickly, were courteous, the cost was exactly what they said it should be, and they ensure we validated all of the work done was correct.
At the end of each part of the job they had me confirm it worked as I had specified, confirmed any and all related parts of the house were fine. We had a quick change to our scope and they were able to accommodate it without issue.
Chambers Electric will be our Electrician henceforth.
