experience with Direct Depot Kitchens. From our first visit to their showroom
to our first family meal in our beautiful new kitchen - everything was
fantastic! They are the consummate professionals.
My husband and I didn't know what to expect when
we arrived for our first appointment. But once we sat down with Moustafa Metwally a very talented
designers and walked around their beautiful showroom, we felt comfortable and
relaxed. They helped us layout the perfect floor plan and their 3D design
allowed us to see exactly what our new kitchen would look like. But it didn't
stop their...we got our cabinets, tile, sink (for free) and counter tops all in
one appointment. We even tried to take advantage of their "lowest price
guaranteed or you kitchen is free program" but there is no way anyone
iff AVEcould match their price, quality or service.
My husband and I liked them so much, they
remodeled our entire house!
We are so very pleased with all of the work that
they have done for us. Our home has their creative ideas and talent on display
in so many areas. We feel so fortunate that we were able to work with them
Our kitchen designer- Alan Reichenthal was absolutely fantastic. After our initial unscheduled meeting (we were just walking around the showroom when we met him) he spent significant time getting to know us. He understood our vision quickly and was able to really help us design a kitchen that would meet our needs. We did not get this same sense of confidence in any of the other designers and companies we met with. We ended up meeting with Alan about three times to finalize our kitchen design.
We compared the cost of cabinets that we believed were comparable (if you're shopping for cabinets you'll realize very quickly that there are more companies than you can imagine and you're really not sure about the quality of what's being sold). The cost came in between $3,000- $5,000 less than other estimates even from Home Depot and Lowes.
Once we decided on Direct Depot, we worked with Alan to finalize the kitchen design and he was great in terms of not overselling unnecessary features. He also offered us advice on color selection of the tiles and granite even though we weren't necessarily purchasing these things through Direct Depot. We ended up using their granite supply company (BCG granite who did an excellent job), but did not use their kitchen cabinet installers.
We met their contractors who seemed great and knowledgeable but we did not live in NJ, so there would have been some licensing concerns with some of the contractors.
We were told the cabinets would take up to 8 weeks for delivery, but they were ready much earlier (4-6 weeks). We had no problems with the delivery process. Our contractor inspected them at the time of delivery and was impressed with the quality of the cabinets. The cabinets are from Starmark and are really of high quality. Our contractor called Alan several times during the installation process to clarify aspects of the design and Alan was very responsive each time. We had a small issue with two cabinet doors (out of the 32 cabinet doors purchased). We called Direct Depot and had replacement doors within 2 weeks.
We are extremely happy with our renovated kitchen, the cabinets are great. Now having lived in our new kitchen for a few weeks, we are increasingly happy with the smart design. I would absolutely recommend their services.
they would do great because they came in and in one day they completely
gutted and got rid of everything but things quickly went downhill.
Lot's of things were mis-measured. In fact when they installed the
microwave they were so off that I couldn't even reach it - I thought it
was a joke and they were annoyed I made them come back to redo it.
Several of my cabinets doors don't hang straight and they did a really
bad job painting. Worse than that it took months to complete my tiny
little kitchen. My guess was they had bigger jobs going on and sandwiched in the work on my place in between.
The first entity was the cabinet design by Alan Reichenthal. Our kitchen presented a real challenge for Alan because it is very small and has three doors in it. In our old kitchen--and I do mean old!--I had actually injured my neck trying to reach things in the corner cabinets, so I was anxious to have that issue resolved. Another issue was the 13" entrance: so tight that the finish was worn off the refrigerator from people squeezing through it. Alan solved all of these problems and came up with a truly brilliant cabinet design, where everything is easily accessible, and roomier entrance and exit. I will never have to "dig" for another pot! I think my favorite feature of all is the pull out spice rack--so convenient. In addition, the cabinets are georgeous. I hereby anoint Alan "The King of Cabinetry!"
The second entity under this common roof is Stephen Anger. Stephen is an impressively well accredited design consultant, who handled our granite countertops for us. He is knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk with, and provided us with excellent guidance when we had questions. Since this was an unfamiliar venture for us, we were grateful to have someone of his caliber to guide us.And the granite he helped us find is literally jaw-droppingly beautiful.
Lastly, the third entity is "Lucky Three"--the contractor, headed by Bezrok Tsay. The company name is a misnomer, because WE were the lucky ones. We have some health issues that required special measures to be taken, and Bezrok and his team went to great lengths to insure our wellbeing was not compromised. All of his workers were of high character, and we felt totally comfortable leaving them in our home--whether we were there or not. Our kitchen presented some serious challenges: A very old house where nothing was square, a tiny room that made it difficult to work, and some antiquated discoveries where things had to be brought up to code. Each and every challenge fell to Bezrok's knowledge and experience. Work was always carried our calmly and confidently, and clean up was impeccable. The crew was so pleasant and cordial, that my husband actually said, after it was all finished, that he kind of missed them!
All in all the project went smoothly, glitches were dealt with, and the results are breathtaking and functual. Even the building and electrical inspectors commented on what a nice job was done. I would hightly recommend doing a kitchen with this company.
Depot was extremely helpful with the issues that arose with the cabinet order
and installation. Bill Hancock of Direct Depot was excellent as our
kitchen designer and a major point of contact for any issue that arose.
In addition Stephen Anger of Direct Depot was huge in helping us with the
granite countertop and installation process. Lastly, Bezrok Tsay of Lucky Three
LLC managed the cabinet installs and answered numerous questions during the
install. Customer Service at Direct Depot is beyond belief -- they were
quick in responding to issues as they arose and the knowledgeable staff was
able to come up with solutions to our problems. The process from kitchen demo
to final installation took approximately 3.5 months. It was a trying process but
this team made it easier. I highly recommend them. The cabinets are well
built and extremely sturdy. They were by far the best cabinets we came across
and we did months of research. They were well worth the cost. Below are some
pictures of the finished kitchen.
We were going to buy our cabinets here until we got a better price on equal quality cabinets through another source.
Fortunately for us, we ended up with Bill Hancock as our design consultant. I honestly can't praise this guy enough. Bill has found his calling in life. Coming from an engineer, architect, and business owner, i can confidently say that Bill is VERY good at what he does.
It started with a sit down to discuss the layout. I wanted to make sure that the space layout we brought with us was the optimal configuration, so i asked Bill to run through some alternates, which he happily did. We went through various options and ended up confirming that the layout my wife and i worked on was optimal for our needs.
After we solidified the general layout we started the iteration process of sizing and selecting each and every cabinet, door, swing, drawer, option, trim piece, molding, etc. I am a very detail oriented person. Before i met Bill I would bet that i was alone, but Bill went through our design with such tenacity that he even challenged my design endurance, a first! I am sure if you asked Bill for a kitchen he could do most of the decision making for you and you would end up with a beautiful end product, but in my case i needed to be involved in the selection of every screw, which Bill gladly obliged. Through the course of multiple design sessions we worked out every component, every detail. Bill quickly learned our eye for detail and took the time to hand sketch some custom paneling and trim that the factory manufactured for us. The custom design work Bill created is what really makes out kitchen epic. I can confidently say that there were several instances where Bills experience and advice avoided major pitfalls that would only have been realized after the cabinets were on site. If you want to avoid issues in installation, Bill is your guy.
The most difficult part of the design process (for my wife and I) was selecting the finish and the door style. For this portion, Bill had infinite patience. We couldn't have been more on the fence, but through a process of elimination we eventually selected the doors, for which Bill suggested some decorative deco edging that really made the whole kitchen work with our house. The finish was an even more difficult decision. We couldn't decide on a color. We debated and debated, but then one day Bill called us and told us there was a new color that just came in, which happened to be perfect.
In the end, we couldn't be happier with the process, the treatment and attention we received, the price, the lead time, the quality, the look, and the ultimate kitchen. The whole experience was great, and highly recommend Bill and Direct Depot.
I should mention one more thing. Direct depot comes out and measures your kitchen to make sure everything fits. When the cabinets were finally delivered and installed, everything fit 100% perfectly. Being an engineer i know how difficult it is to design something perfectly, but Bill did it. Not one part was even slightly off. I'm sure it helped that my kitchen was perfectly square and level, so please don't take this as a promise that yours will have such close tolerances, but it is a testament to the Direct Depot process that what we design is exactly what was delivered. No mistakes. No omissions. Every single piece was there and to exact specifications.
Through this whole process I've learned on thing about kitchens, you get out of them what you put into them If I have one bit of advice for you it is this... Come to the table with ideas, walk around the showroom for a while and get inspired, ask questions, and thoroughly review the design on an ongoing basis and most importantly when you sign the contract. If you put forth dedication and effort to this process, you will not be disappointed.
Depot Kitchen Wholesalers Inc. at 24 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls, NJ. We looked at
a lot of different companies, but decided to go with Direct Depot because they had every door
style sample imaginable which made it easy for us to make a decision. They had thousands of
sample doors on display, and a huge showroom of full kitchen displays.
Our designer was very nice and right away showed he was more experienced and knowledgeable
than home depot, and the other cabinet dealers we also looked at. He also noticed a few things
that the other companies had missed when designing our space.
We were not looking for the cheapest price but the best deal and we were glad we found it.
During the installation we had an issue due to the width of the drywall that had ended up being
used. We used our own contractor and that was a mistake. He caused a lot of problems and
delays in the installation but the general manager from Direct Depot Kitchens personally showed
up and had to order a new cabinet to resolve the issue. Our contractor had started to put our
hardware in the wrong places and we needed some new drawer heads. Jeff took note of which
ones they were, and to our surprise DDK didn?t charge us for it even though it wasn?t their
mistake. In a few weeks the parts arrived, and the finish matched the other cabinets perfectly
(which we were concerned about).
Because our contractor made so many mistakes and problems for us, we decided to not allow
him to continue, and Jeff suggested we use their in house contractor to finish the job as he had
full faith he could satisfy us. We tried to find several others also, but none wanted to take on the
job as it was a mess already. We took Jeff?s advice, and used their contractor.
It was a big job but Jeff at DDKW made sure it got done and was done right. The contractors
arrived on time, were neat and efficient and it still took them into the evening to finish. Jeff
stopped in around 8:30 pm to inspect and make sure everything was done right and we were
happy. We are very happy. It?s very functional and looks great. Thank You Direct Depot
Kitchens.
Bill also referred us to Bezrock, our contractor who did the install and the entire remodel, including the tiles, appliances, etc.
Overall, pleased with the design and the kitchen and would surely recommend them to anyone!
The most important thing, I want to say is, the whole designing started in middle of the 2012, and the delivery was scheduled to be in October 2012, and there comes SANDY the worst hurricane of the history. I told the delivery company to deliver the cabinets after the hurricane, unfortunately, their warehouse got flooded and all my cabinets got destroyed due to the salt water. When I called the delivery company they told me that they have insurance and it will be ok. But in reality they did not have flood coverage, since they never expected flood can reach their area. So I contacted Mr Hancock and he assured, not to worry. Then the company ordered a whole new set of cabinets and delivered to me at NO EXTRA COST to me and were able to deliver in another 3 months. Though they were backed up, due to the storm, they still were able to get the job done right and in a timely fashion. All the time Mr Hancock was there with us, making sure about all the things during the delivery, set up and he assisted my set up team clarifying the details. Later I found out that the company had to pay to make those cabinets again, since the insurance did not cover the flood damage. I have never seen a company put their customers interest in the first place. I would recommend Bill Hancock at any time at direct Depot Kitchen.
