My girlfriend and I were treated VERY poorly here during our recent stay in New Hope/Lambertville. It started when we walked in and spotted a gorgeous wooden table. We immediately surrounded the table and looked it over end to end, and discussed publicly how much we loved it and felt it would look great in my new office, and our future house. I was at no point turned off by the $9,000 price tag, as the table looked very well made and I believe you get what you pay for. However, having not been in the store longer than 5 minutes, I became immediately turned off when the manager, Claire Tiffany, shouted at me "ARE YOU A WOOD WORKER?". Startled and confused, I said "No.. I'm not.". Around this time, I had pulled my phone out to take a picture that I planned to send to my parents to get their opinion of the table. I later found out, that Claire was offended that I did this, as she then shouted at me "Can I help you with something?". I said "yes, I'm looking for an 8 foot table.". Her follow-up, which left me utterly speechless, was a terse "Then you should go shop online." Excuse me? Was I just disrespected within 5 minutes of walking in the store because I took a picture of a beautiful table? Was it because I didn't look like I could afford the $9,000 table? Or was it because she only sells to woodworkers? I'm still confused by the whole conversation, but I know that yelling at customers and sending them out of your store when they have "cash in hand" ready to buy your expensive tables, is not a good way to do business. I felt extremely insulted and disrespected, and honestly wanted the table. Not just because my girlfriend loved it, but because it would have been a perfect fit for my office and home, and we truly appreciated the work that went into making it. But apparently that day, Claire decided that I didn't deserve the table. That I should go home, shop online, and find some other table. Be very cautious about going in the store and taking pictures. Apparently they get very pissy when tourists admire the products enough to take a pic, even if just to share with family, and even if said customer has every intent to buy their expensive merchandise.
Description of Work: From the moment I walked in the store, the manager was rude, disrespectful, and told me to go buy the product online and not from them.
