Another great job! Ed had rebuilt my front porch steps a couple of years ago and also did a tricky repair to the antique wooden front door, and so when some of the boards on my side deck began to warp and lift up from the framing, I called Ed for help. I thought he would have to replace some of the boards, but he was certain a simpler fix would work and so that's what he did - it looks great, it feels solid underfoot, and I have a great deal of confidence in Ed so I know it will last for years, also. From the initial consultation through the timely completion of work, Ed's professionalism shown through! He returned my calls in a timely manner, he showed up when he said he would and completed the job on time. The door and storm door were installed perfectly. I only wish I had hired him for my front door which I replaced a few years ago. His work was superior! He was also very neat and didn't leave any mess whatsoever. I plan to call on him again as I have a list of projects i need to complete. I highly recommend Ed. You will not be disappointed!

We first used Ed when we needed ceiling fans installed. We were so pleased that we called him shortly thereafter to install attic stairs (and move the opening of our attic!) The work was phenomenal. Ed takes time to pay attention to detail, and it shows in the quality of his work. He arrived on time and is so polite and sweet to my children and our dog. He cleans up after himself when he is done too. Most recently we had a storm door to our backyard replaced, and he also added a screen door. Finally, (for now anyway) he removed the tile and mantel from our fireplace and installed a new mantel. Not only did he redo the tile work around our fireplace, but he assisted us in ordering tile for the job. Our fireplace came out better than we could have imagined!! We continue to call Ed because we know he is dependable and the work will be done right. We have referred him to family members living in the area as well and they have nothing but good things to say about him! You will not be disappointed if you call Ed to do whatever you need done - any job big or small!

Ed charged the price he quoted, which was the cost of the doors plus labor. Was super punctual. Worked clean and efficient. Each door he installed was measured and adjusted for a perfect fit. Ed is a very personable and considerate individual who I would hire again for any future projects I may have.

Ed is very professional and polite. He showed up on time and got the work done efficiently, I also appreciated that he was honest in letting me know that one project, ripping out an old terrazzo/mosaic floor, was not something he wanted to get involved with. I would rather someone let me know straight up than string me along or do a bad job.

I was very happy with response time and the completed job. Ed responded immediately to my inquiry and was very professional and informative about the work I needed done. He even fixed a door that was not on my list. My only problem was that I waited a few days for the estimate so I thought like other contractors I would not hear from him again. I was pleased to later realize he was probably researching materials. Ed showed up on time to do the work. He also did not mind our cat and dogs. I will definitely hire again.

The work was outstanding! The bathroom came out better than I could have imagined. If I had questions, he had answers. If I needed help with selections, he had great suggestions. He was prompt every day and worked all day. Even cleaned up. Highly recommended.

Ed took the time to do the job right and did not stop working when he was here. The job took place over the course of three days while he waited for areas to dry fully before performing next steps. He was kind and respectful and very clean while he worked. We felt that Ed went above and beyond and was honest and fair in his price. He is very skilled in what he does and we would absolutely hire Ed again!

I thought he did a good job, but he seemed pretty expensive based on the amount of time he was here, which was about 3.5 hours. The total I paid was $435, so over $100 an hour is very pricey. Additionally, I mentioned that I found him on Angie's list and received no discount.

"In response to this review, I cheerfully state the following: 1.This member did not mention that I actually rebuilt the bathroom exhaust fan with parts that I researched and ordered. This was an overall cost savings vs. replacing the entire unit, as I had explained to him. 2. The range hood installation also included closing up two holes where the old exhaust ducting went through the cabinet and the soffit above, leading to the attic. 3. This member also did not mention that some of his shelving could not be installed, due to the extreme curvature of a wall in the kitchen. An attempt was made, to no avail and he was not charged for the effort. That element of the job was removed from his bill. As for his opinion of me being "pricey", please know that when you hire me, you are purchasing the experience, knowledge and abilities of a licensed, insured professional. The amount of time that was spent accomplishing the goal is a consideration, as well as the time spent researching and ordering parts and planning the work. He did agree to the pricing structure, prior commencement of the work and there were no additional charges. This member gave me a "B" for quality. It is my goal to leave every customer satisfied with the work that I do. In fact, it should be noted that I need to be satisfied with the work that I do. If there was a concern from his perspective, he certainly has not shared it with me. As for a discount, please follow the procedural guidelines. Please see all of my reviews for a complete reflection of how Ed's Handyman Service, conducts business. Thank you."
