+ -1 moreCalled and made an appointment for them to come out for an estimate. Estimate was highest by at least $2500 (compared to next highest quote) and twice as much as another highly rated Angie's List company. All this said, one should understand that you can tell this company puts a ton of money into customer service, advertising, website, staffing, etc. The estimate was even left in a nicely printed piece with enclosed envelope hanging on our front door knob. More overhead equals higher costs than most of their competitors and they have to recoup that in part by quoting more. It is what it is. I'm sure they do excellent work, but just wasn't an option for us at almost twice the cost of another highly rated Angie's List company. Again, I'm sure they do good work, but just wasn't affordable for us. The process of getting the quote and follow up was very good, you can tell they put a lot of money into their entire business and service throughout the estimate process was good.

+ -1 moreI used them for the whole year in 2012 to do the fertilization program. They were punctual in their service, however I was not satisfied with the quality of the fertilization program. It was done punctually , however there were a lot of crabgrass and broadleaf weeds and many other weeds and I had to spend a lot of time in clearing them up to make my yard beautiful. If I am enrolled for a program from a professional company , I will not expect to spend a lot of time to clear them. I was impressed with the aeration they did though , I might use them for doing core aeration , however not for doing my 6 or 7 application program.

+ -1 moreThey were very, very good. They were very thorough. It was a very difficult tree to get rid of because of the access. They actually had to use a crane to go over the house to get the tree out of there. I was very happy with them. They were easy to talk to. They provided me with good insight in terms of the process. They were on time and they did what they said they were going to do.

+ -1 moreI ended up bumping into a Tree service when I was at Walmart. They had an 800 number for independent contractors. They quoted me $1000 to remove the tree. I did not get rid of the stump. They saved me $800 from the SavATree quote. They came out the next day and removed the tree within two days.
Description of Work: There were no services rendered. They came to the house and did an estimate on the tree removal. They said it would cost $1800 for the tree removal and $700 for the stump removal.

+ -1 more. Jesse came on time to provide the estimate and was informative and courteous and he called prior to the arrival of the tree pruners. They also were punctual and courteous and responsive to my questions and concerns. I asked them to do the trees in the back first so that I could use the area with my granddaughter and they were very agreeable in doing so. They did a great job. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I used SavAtree for pruning trees in my landscaping. They pruned the dead branches from my hickory and shaped and pruned back my cherry tree so that it no longer is growing into the house. They also pruned and shaped my English hollies.

+ -1 morePlus : They were very prompt ; the arborist and crew arrived at same time so we could go over work to be done. The do an excellent cleanup job and removed all debris Minus : they did not cut up the oak for my firewood, evidently they chipped it and hauled it away. I called the office to complain because that wood would have meant not having to buy additional firewood. They said they could leave me some firewood next tiime they were doing some trimming in the neighborhood. That has not happened to date. UPDATE ; I came home today and there was new firewood in the woodpile (and they put the old wood back on top and put the cover back on). There was an apology on the door. So I guess they read Angie's list and they responded quickly. Kudos to Angie's list and kudos to Savatree. I have updated their Responsiveness rating.

+ -1 moreThe weed population was significantly reduced, and the lawn was getting less and less patchy, so the service worked well in improving our lawn. We intend to use the service again. It's a little bit pricey, but the service quality is quite good.

+ -1 moreWent great. Arrived on-time with a large crew and knocked out the work in short order. Not rushed, but no standing around either. Cleaned-up everything before leaving.
Description of Work: Inspected all trees on property. Were able to resurrect a senior dogwood that we thought would have to be removed; trimmed and thinned six trees; removed large overhanging branches from a neighbor's tree; constructed a sling on one of our large maples to prevent it from losing branches in high winds. Result survived hurricane Irene ! Good outfit!

+ -1 moreI told my whole story in the former question. Do get other bids Do protect/cover your flowers and plants. Do confirm the date of work and if having stumps removed, the date they plan on doing the follow up work They did the work agreed on in bid. They left the place spotless.
Description of Work: I purchased the "Pay $130 for $300 of service". A rather well informed representative came and offered two bids, per my request. One bid for removing hazardous limbs and the other removal of small trees and offspring trees. Since I had all ready invested $130 and had $300 credit, I chose them, but with few little regrets .DO get other bids. The rep and 3 workers came on time. The rep went over what work to be done then the others worked efficiently on a hot and humid day, one of the summer's hottest. The workers were from Guatalmala and seemed like they were working in trees their whole lives. They worked all day and did everything they said they would. I gave them lots of ice water, which they greatly appreciated and when they were done I offered them each a light beer, which they refused because they had to drive. They left the yards looking better then when they got there ( I had done alot of pruning and had alot of extra debris they also cleaned up.) They could've been a little more careful with my new flowerbed/garden. DO cover your flower beds and plants. They filled a truck with the mulch then at a later date a crew came and dealt with the stumps. There could have been better communication about the follow up with the stump removers, since I had no idea they were coming. And the date of the work was during a time period that I had company, with the last minute call saying I was on their schedule, but I may have been able to change it, I recommend keeping in touch. But I am very happy to have it done since after hurricane Irene all I had come down were tiny branches which covered my yards but no dangerous limbs...cannot imagine what would've come down if they hadn't done the work last month. They removed dozens of huge limbs, I have alot of trees. The sizes of the limbs were huge to big which I never saw. A trained eye revealed the hazardous limbs, my landscaper was the one that reinforced the fact that I needed it done as soon as possible. Hope this helps anyone considering them, plus I received a text before the hurricane with a code to expedite my call in case I needed additional help which was a nice touch.

They might have been a little pricey but at the same time I had one other price and it is hard to compare with the other price because you never really know what a company will do to your trees. They did a good job and were very responsive and professional. They came right away for the estimate and I walked around with him and he explained everything very clear and concisely. I think you are going to get a good job even though you might have to pay a couple of bucks more. I will use this company again in the future.
