I wish that no stars was an option - I would give that if I could. My landscaper recommended Alpa last year as part of a larger yard renovation. Alpa came in to re-plumb my pool and install a new water slide and the project was nothing but one headache after another and to date - the new system still doesn't work the way it is supposed to. During the course of the renovation I was given deadline after deadline regarding milestones that were to be met and almost everyone of them was missed. Workers wouldn't show up when I was told they were going to be there and when they did show up they usually didn't do what I was told they were going to do. To make matters worse, when those dates came and went there was never follow up from Alpa to explain why no one showed up or why the work wasn't done. Sometimes days would go by and I finally would call them to find out what happened and again - excuses. Multiple times I had to have them redo work that they did because what was done either wasn't done correctly or to our plans. When I would have to make the calls to have those issues addressed it would almost always result in an argument to get the work corrected - I would have to wade through excuse after excuse as well as argue to have "service fees" waived in connection with the fixes - as though they were doing me a favor by coming out to fix what they did wrong. The worst part of all this is the slide. The slide was installed incorrectly. I addressed this with Alpa during the construction and again - was given excuse after excuse as to why the incorrect installation happened. Fix options were floated to me by Alpa but they all involved thousands of more dollars of work - on top of the thousands I had already been charged for the incorrect installation. At the end of the season, Alpa left the project and me with a slide that still doesn't work correctly. I have now had to contact several other installers to come back this season to fix the slide and all have told me that only was the slide's installation is "ridiculously" wrong (not my words, two who gave me quotes literally said what was done is ridiculously wrong - another used the words lazy and easy), but that it will now cost me thousands of extra dollars to correct it - on top of the thousands I already paid to Alpa to do it incorrectly the first time. Again, if only no stars were an option. . . .

Ultimately a lovely job but they are expensive. Had to call them to clean up their job site when super storm Sandy was arriving. They had problems with an underground spring which went on for weeks...They had to lay concrete under the lining with an opening for the spring to be released. unknown as to whether or Not they did correct the problem. The replacing of the liner was done. The manufacturers rep from Long Island had to come to my mothers home, on site, to do the stairs. But it was done. This job cost about $7000.00 My 88 year old mother is using them weekly to service her pool. They seem to always have a reason to introduce a new recommended chemical for the pool at a cost of $100. This month in one day the water went from crystal clear to cloudy after they arrived to service the pool. Another chemical was recommended again $100. My mother went down to the skimmer where the chlorine is administered and discovered somehow the small tube that allows the chlorine to enter into the water had been disconnected. I question the work performed and the cost.
