Called with a question about an exterior Vent pipe. Dave was extremely helpful and even though the job wasn't what they specialize in, he was able to point me in the right direction to find the answers I needed. Will definitely be contacting him for any larger jobs.

We spoke with 6 companies about replacing our roof. While we ultimately didn't settle on using American Home Contractors, Jon Parker was extremely helpful in explaining the process, what was important, and how to make sure that we got the job done right.
After receiving an estimate from one of his salespeople, I had several phone conversation with Jon Parker. In them, he was not pushy, not salesy, and most importantly, was straightforward and honest with me about the job. He explained their pricing, the specifics of the job, and why he wasn't going to try to undercut some of the lower estimates that I was receiving. This was in stark contrast with some of the other companies.
What impressed me the most, was that he took the time to speak with me, multiple times, even though it was clear from the start that we would probably end up with another contractor. He helped me understand the questions to ask, the potential issues with the project, and the relative merits of different warranties, etc. 
We will definitely consider working with them on our next large project, because of Jon's professional, direct, and helpful manner. It was much appreciated.

Dave DaVeiga came out to estimate the job. He was exceptionally professional and recommended several options based on our budget. We went with his recommendation, Timberline HD shingles with extra ice shield and underlayment protection. The roof qualified for a 15 year warranty. The crew, led by foreman Patricio, was fast, neat, and meticulous about repairs to the shakes. The job could not have gone better. Dave was onsite every day and addressed every concern we had.

Cory Hammond came out to give us the estimate and did a good job explaining all of our options and the scope of the work.  The team that completed the work was on time each day and did a great job on the cleanup.  We also experienced several bouts of thunderstorms during our project, but the team had the tarps ready to protect the incomplete sections.  In the end, they underestimated the size of the roof a bit, and had to do a little bit of repair work but held to the original estimate.   We'd definitely use ARC again for work on our home. 

ok, so I was looking for a roofing contractor and picked this company from Angieslist after reading the reviews. I took quotes from 3 contractors and went with ACH. They explained everything very well without the dreaded sales pressure- which is why I went with them. I got the roof done plus the rakes on either side plus replace a center rake with AZAK (sp?) plus all gutters with gutter guards, downspouts, plus all vented soffits and lifetime warranty on both materials and labor.  They are slightly on the higher side, and I did go through a slight buyer's remorse right after I signed up, but it lasted only until the time I started talking to Travis on finalizing the date, the color etc. They are very very professional. They absolutely hold up to the reputation they have on Angieslist. Our point of contact, Travis was there multiple times before the start of work to share samples etc with us, and was there multiple times during the day when the roofing was being done. Their crew is excellent. Clean up was good.

After the work was done, they did a walk around with me to show the work and ask if there was anything at all that I was not satisfied with - and there was nothing. All along Travis kept emphasizing that he wanted me to be 100% happy with their work.

They have hands down the best customer service that I have ever experienced. I picked them after seeing their reviews on Angieslist and am so glad I did.  Please keep up the good work.

It went well overall. We have a Vermont slate roof which took extra care to work around and avoid damage. Any issues that came up, which inevitably do on a job of this magnitude, were dealt with swiftly and fairly by Cory Hammond, the Project Coordinator. We enjoyed working with Cory and his foreman, Petruchio, who were both extremely knowledgeable and professional. The actual quality of work done was meticulous and excellent. There were some minor confusions regarding some work days but in the end it they didn't matter.
One thing that came up was some inadequate trim work around the front door (we wanted it to be a bit beefier) so Cory and Petruchio came and listened to what we wanted and added to it to make it just perfect. Some gutters also got damaged by our landscapers and Cory had a gutter guy on hand to come out and deal with it and also improve on our downspout configuration.

Finally, there was a major 3 day rain that led to some water in our basement because our downspouts were down at the time and Cory and Petruchio came out in the rain to make channels to move water away from the house where it was pooling. We were also compensated for some resulting floor damage.

Dave was our project manager and Patricio was the site manager/supervisor.  Both were very professional.  Dave was patient with us and reviewed the scope and detail thoroughly multiple times.  He was communicative and responsive - I never had to wait more than 24 hours for a response and usually less than 1-2 hours.  He was very detail oriented in his review of the scope which was much appreciated.  Patricio and his crew were also very professional and prompt.  They completed the entire roof (~2500 sq ft) in 2 days and it looks great.  It's been on for about 9 months and still looks great with no issues (Even the minor updates GAF required were not major and AHC fixed them promptly).  The only slight downside was price - this was one of the more expensive providers, however we feel that it was worth the premium to have a professional job and proven reliability rather than saving a few dollars and having problems later on.  We would definitely recommend and use them again in the future.

The job went as exactly as planned which included the pricing of the job, explaining what would be done, the installation of a new roof with gutter, timely installation and the thorough cleanup. The roof and gutters look amazing and gave the house a whole new look.

Responded  to initial call in a timely matter.  Stated he would do the job, but I could never get in touch with him.  I guess it was a busy time and we could never get together.

We needed gutter help. He said that he doesn't do those kind of gutters and that we should go somewhere else, which is what we did. It would have been better if he could have helped us. He was helpful telling us who could help us. I'm not sure it was worth $100. I would not recommend them for gutters. They were nice. When they came out I thought that they could do gutters. The appointment was fine.

They did a great job!  They were on time, pleasant, and cleaned up everything afterwards.  I will use them again!

Also, some damaged siding capping was replaced
on garage door trim. That looks much better and was done along with window
installation.

First met AHC owner Jon Parker in April 2014 when he performed a roof inspection & maintainence package that I purchased on Angie's List.  We have a 1955 ranch house and were dealing with two small indoor leaks anytime there was a particularly heavy rain fall, one around our fire place chimney and one around our boiler chimney.  At the time he said the roof wasn't in terrible shape but at 20+ years old was nearing the end of its' useful life.  He offered to come back another time to take measurements and give us a detailed estimate for a new roof.  The following Thursday evening Jon returned to do the estimate.  He sat down with me and my wife for about an hour and explained that he had his own roof crew that did only roofs and worked one job at a time.  He also had an expert gutter guy who did nothing but seamless gutters if we were interested in that as well.  He said the roof including clean up could be completed in two work days with the gutters being done as a one day job afterwards if we decided on new gutters too.  He would have a dumpster delivered prior to the start of the job at no additional charge.  He said his crew would clean up thoroughly at jobs' completion going around the perimiter of the property with magnets to make sure no loose nails were left on the ground.  He had brouchures that explained the three warranty options AHC offered and he went into great deatil about the various roofing material options we could choose from.  If we used all the highest grade materials for the job and purchased the top of the line warranty the roof estimate was $14,400.  Included in that price was replacement of two kitchen skylights (with V Lux skylights) and replacement of an attic exhaust fan.  Five inch seamless gutters would be an additional $2600 so total estimate for new roof & gutters was an even $17,000.  My wife and I were very impressed with Jon's presentation but didn't want to rush into making a decision.  Over the summer and after having gotten a detailed estimate for a new roof from one other contractor my wife and I decided to have AHC install a new roof and gutters if we could get the total price closer to $15,000.  I emailed Jon at the end of July to check on his availability and to see where we could shave some expense.  I also asked if we gave him maximum flexibilty in scheduling the job, could he offer some sort of discount which he had offered back in the spring.  Jon said that he had an opening at the end of the upcoming week and could pencil us in there.  He offered to knock $800 off his price.  I was able to save an additional $1000 by switching from their Golden Pledge Warranty  to their System Plus Warranty and making one other materials change.  So the total for roof and gutters would be $15,200, due on completion, no downpayment required.  I gave Jon the green light and at the end of the following week the old roof was taken off and the new one installed in less than the two full work days (all day Friday, half day Saturday).  The seamless gutters were installed the following Tuesday.  Qualilty of the work was A+ as expected.  Roof and gutters look great.  My yard was thoroughly cleaned up at the job's completion as promised.  Jon is exteremely knowledgeable, extremely friendly and very responsive to phone calls and emails.  What impressed me most about him though came about two months after the job was completed.  In early October we had heavy rain for the first time since the new roof was installed.  The bathroom leak that we had prior to the roof replacement was still there.  Water leaked from around the base of a recessed light that was in a direct line below our boiler chimney.  I emailed Jon and within 24 hours he answered and said he have someone out in a couple of days to check the seals and flashing.  His roofer didn't find anything obviously amiss but he resealed a pipe anyway.  About three weeks later same problem occured.  Again Jon responded quickly and promised that we'd figure out the problem.  Again he had a man out and this time he added extra sealant around the chimney.  Still had water leak next time it rained.  Long story short...it turned out there was no issue with the roof or the chimney sealings.  A cast iron vent pipe inside of my attic was coupled to a PVC pipe the previous owner had installed while expanding the kitchen and rain water was collecting at the joint where the two pipes met and leaking into the soffit box in the bathroom below.  I emailed Jon the day I found out to thank him and to let him know the mystery was solved.  I cannot recommend American Home Contractors enough.  Aside from his knowledege and professionalism how many contarctor's out there would be so responsive to a customer that had paid them in full two months earlier?  When Jon made his original pitch to us last spring he assured us that he stood behind his work even after the job was done.  Well he walks it like he talks it.  A+ work quality, A+ customer service, A+ honesty.  If I ever need siding or windows down the line I know who I'm using.

American Home Contractors were very responsive and professional in this project.  Dave came to the home several times to provide us with a detailed description of the extent of the project and materials that would be used.  We had several complicating factors like skylights and dormers and angles in the roof.  Dave and Jonathan explained how everything would be done and we agreed on a price. The old roof was removed and the new roof installed with the project  completed in 2 days.  The property was cleaned up and the new roof looks and performs great.

Professional from start to finish. The representative came with a thorough set of materials including a copy of insurance certificate, material explanations, an extensive explanation of materials to be used, copies of various awards for workmanship AND samples of favorable Angie's  List customers .
Both installation crews, roofing and gutters, were professional, neat, and courteous. Patricio and Hector were good at communicating what was going on, any issues, and announced themselves when they arrived, broke for lunch or left for the day. Both gentlemen were courteous and professional .
I recommended and then later introduced AHC to a neighbor who is also considering having their roof reshingled.

He did the resealing around my chimney's. I thought he was also going to renail shingles if needed and now a different workman is telling me there are nail pops all over. This gentleman was very professional and didn't try to get me to pay him more or extend what he did.  He did tell me I needed to have someone recement areas on my chimney.  I appreciated the honesty. That is a rarity with the majority of the people I have had come out.

Contractor arrived right on time but, unfortunately, wasn't able to perform the service. He informed me that he would request a refund and told me to contact Angie's List to follow up on it. Again, I can't stress enough how professional he was. Thank you.

The inspector could not access the roof, he suggested I get a refund.
