Showed up and got the job done depite an afternoon thunderstorm

The windows were delivered to my house directly from the manufacturer and the guys were present to take the windows off the truck and immediately start installing. They finished the insides nicely with moulding and caulk. They even recessed one of the windows so the interior finish work could be made to match exsisting windows that were not being replaced in the same room. They cleaned up all the garbage in the yard and even cleaned and vacuumed dust and debris inside the house.

In general they did a good job and it looks great. They initially said they could do the job within a couple of weeks but after we signed up they added about a month to that. When we complained they did the majority of the work within a couple of weeks but the details (shutters and a few small details) dragged on for weeks. They claimed that we had never told them which shutters we wanted but I was able to send them the original email to their office that detailed what we wanted...they are a bit disorganized when it comes to those details. But we did get the siding and shutters and soffits and gutters we expected. Our biggest concern is the columns on the front porch where instead of using the composite material that comes pre-formed into pieces that wrap around a pressure treated wood column and lock together, their workmen brought pieces of the same material and cut them to fit leaving many seams showing on the columns. They eventually came back after our complaints and filled the cracks but I'm still concerned that over time those will open up again. Another contractor that put the front porch railings in for us was astounded to see that they did it that way and told us the the preformed, lock together pieces they should have used were only slightly more expensive than using the unformed pieces they actually used. Plus, they wasted a lot of their own time having to cut and fit them. I would have given the quality score an excellent and the professionalism a good if it weren't for the columns.

I called for an estimate and was told by a gentleman that he needed to check with his boss to see if I was too far for them. He told me he would get back to me. I was expecting a phone call back but a week went by and no response. I ended up hiring someone else to do the job and thats when I received an estimate in the mail from George J Keller and sons. If I was told that an estimate would be mailed to me, I would of waited, but the lack of communication drove me to seek another roofer.

When I first started looking for a solar installer, I was planning ion a roof installation. Since George Keller had installed our roof, and we were very pleased with their job, I included them in my search when I found out they were also installing panels. It seemed like a good idea to have the same company install both panels and roof. Eventually, they, and others, let us know that the trees in our back yard were large enough to drop the efficiency of a roof installation too low to be cost effective. Even though that meant that the same argument (about using the same vendor) no longer applied, the other vendors sort of dropped out at that point, but the Keller representative noticed that we had a very clear area on the hill behind our house, and suggested we consider a ground mount. That is eventually what we did, and ours is in fact one of very few such installations in NJ. In addition, we requested that they use SMA inverters, due to their higher efficiency, wider range of input voltage, and the ability to run off-grid in the event of a major outage (we were out for 8 days after Sandy!). It required a good bit of legwork on their part, since the company hadn't yet approved those inverters for installations in NJ (they had been used in CA). They were able to get the approval eventually, and the job proceeded. There were adjunct jobs that had to be done, including removal of two trees on the edge of our property that would have blocked the panels in the a.m. That work was sub-contracted out, and I was only marginally satisfied with that portion of the work. They damaged the lawn a good bit, and left quite a bit of debris in the area that I eventually had to remove. The installation of the panels themselves, though, was very well handled, exactly on schedule, and with no more disruption of the lawn and shrubs than was required by code regulations (such as removing shrubs too close to the new electric box). The panels came online in early Dec., and, despite the very hard winter we had in this area, they have performed up to expectations the whole time. We haven't had to pay an electric utility bill since and I don't anticipate that we will ever have to do so. The monitoring site is very accessible and easy to use, so we can keep track of performance. At the end of the job the area was regraded and the lawn restored. Overall, we are very pleased with the result and how the work was done. I would definitely recommend Keller to anybody who was interested in such a system.

We were quite pleased. The whole thing was excellent. They seemed to be very upfront. They were ethical in their presentation and estimate. They could do the whole job. It was even snowing and their guys cleared the roof. It was amazing. They did a good job. Their price was right in the ballpark. They did quite a job. We would recommend them.

The crew that they sent out was excellent and the man in charge would do anything to make any situation right. He did, however, have to go through the owners and if anything went wrong on the job, they didn't want to do anything about it. They are fine if everything goes perfectly; if anything goes wrong however, they won't help at all.

We found someone to repair roof sooner so I had to cancel my appointment with Dan. The company that fixed our roof told us we have mold. I then decided to call Dan to ask if he did remediation, even though I cancelled our 1st appointment. Dan called us back even though he doesn't do this type of work and was thoughtful enough to give me a name and number of someone he knows who does this type of work. Down the road we are looking to remove stucco and have replaced with siding. We will keep George Keller & Sons number for the future. Thanks again.

We were very pleased with George Keller & Sons. They were responsive to our questions and calls, came to do the work earlier than anticipated due to forecasted bad weather (very much appreciate), and did neat, clean work. We would call them again.

Provided very good consultative services regarding types and selection of materials, but did not oversell. The outcome looks great. Clean up was excellent.

One minor bang on existing gutter that was not there prior to work. Scheduler sent crew to home with snow covered roof and surrounding area. I had advised her in advance but they still came only to leave after 20 minutes. No problem for me (as you did not need to be home) but it seemed silly to send them out. They came back 4 days or so later once I told them the snow was gone. The crew did a fine job in about three days of work. They cleaned up well each night.

We were very happy. The service was great and e-mail response was fast. They said they were going to come out that day and it was going to be all done in one day and it was all done according to what they said.

Brendan (their sales rep) was great to work with--he provided a thorough explanation of their services, took pictures of our existing roof and responded quickly with any additional questions that we may have had after our initial appointment/conference. Compared to other estimates, their services were reasonably priced and based on our experience with Branden and previous reviews, we felt confident to have George J. Keller & Sons do the job. On the day of (scheduled) construction they arrived on time and set up a protective barrier to prevent any harm to the house or landscape. They disposed of all shingles and nails along the entire property--not a trace of any construction materials were left around (and it was a windy day!). I am very pleased with their services and would highly recommend them.

Job was begun on time, done neatly and professionally and looks fantastic. After only being in place two months, withstood Super Storm Sandy perfectly intact. Extremely satisfied with the results.

Went great!!! Very professional, beautifully done. Many workers on the job. Big house, separate 2 car garages, 3 large porch roofs. The guys were friendly and pleasant to talk to. Excellent clean up... nothing left. Very fast. Started around 7:30 am finished by 6 pm. One day!! Couldn't believe it!!! We've already recommended them to family and friends.

Everything went well.They did a nice job. The only issue was I wanted proof of their insurance and it took them a little to get that to me. Once I received it, it was the day after the work was started. However, the work they did was good and the people were nice to deal with.

I had George Keller & Sons repair my roof two years ago. In June a new leak appeared after a very heavy rain. I called and explained the location of the leak. Within a week, Mike Keller, came to my home, found that some flashing was damaged due to high winds. He repaired the leak, NO CHARGE! I will ALWAYS recommend this company ! They are the best!!!

We had our house re-roofed because we are moving out and selling it. They did everything they said they would do in the time they said they would do it in. They cleaned up very well. They emailed me and kept me up to date as the project went on.
