Originally came to my house on 6/29 when I was not home. Never rang my bell to see if anyone was home. My husband was home taking a nap. Videocamera shows them arriving at 1:31 and at 1:46 they were already gone. No evidence of any work having been done. They left a hangtag on my door saying they finished the job. But of course they found a problem: new gutters needed and recommended a roof cleaning due to runoff from ac. The only problem with that is that none of them runoff onto the roof. Company sent someone the next day. When I went to make sure they were not the same crew as the day before, they did not speak English. While on the phone with the company, they got in the truck and just left. A crew came out today that I was able to communicate with. I stayed outside and watched them do the gutter cleaning. Lo and behold what comes out of my downspouts, debris from my gutters. Obviously they were definitely not cleaned on Wednesday. I have evidence of this from the videos I took showing the debris running out of the downspouts. How could there be any debris if the gutters were just cleaned on Wednesday? Obviously they were not. I asked if they found any problems and was told no. Today's crew did the job they were supposed to do. I will never use your company again due to your unethical business practices and will never recommend you to anyone.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Particularly under contract. They show up when they want. Most recently in April for what they claim was a December service. Last fall they came in early October for a fall service. Customer service is impossible to reach, and the bills come from an address called “qualityassurance@“ which does not accept email. Definitely a vendor to skip.

Called to enquire, was given a quote by service rep as they are a big business now. It felt higher so told I will confirm after speaking with spouse. Called back, other rep answered, gave quote 90$ higher without any explanation, I said thank you and hung up and called again after sometime and told the rep the actual first price I was told. He explained about year round service and told its better to enroll in a plan so repairs are also covered. I had just god yard cleaning for some reason on Monday and was calling this service on Tuesday. I specified I do not want the service scheduled before Saturday as I do not want debris on the lawn or yard. He said he will put the date of Friday so they will not come before Saturday. Meanwhile a friend suggested other service and that guy came and gave a quote exactly at half price, however since I had already signed up for platinum plan service, I decided to go ahead with NS at least for the year. I got multiple emails from them which I did not have time to read through work and decided will read those on Friday as I had specified I do not want any service before Saturday. Thursday morning during work meeting 8:30 am I received text the crew is around the corner and can come any minute and this is automated text so do not reply to this and call the company. I immediately called however was put in waiting with music and announcements, by the time my spouse called and informed the crew is on site working and he had specifically warned me not to schedule during work week and does not have time to deal with this. He went out and they informed one front gutter is loose and hanging, he told we have enrolled in a plan with repair and they informed they will inform the company. One guy worked sincerely, other cleaned the deck when part of the gutters were yet being cleaned by the other person and then used blower to push dry leaves on our just cleaned back lawn. (Specifically for the same reason, I had told them to come after Saturday, so that my purpose for which I got the yard leaned get over and I do not feel bad about some dirt on the yard even if they do not bag everything.) They left with a tag on door to call. I called and representative told me front gutters need replacement and it was up to us. I asked what about repair, he said we don't repair gutter strapping, maybe you misunderstood, we only do vertical spout re strapping. We need to pay for anything else. At this point I realized there no accountability at their end, no responsibility to follow their word and they just want to push their crew so that crew does not sit free without respecting customers pre decided convenience. Moreover later when I read through emails, it no where mentions only vertical spouts will be repaired and not gutters, they do mention all debris that come from the gutter will be bagged. Payment of course was charged promptly adding taxes. I cancelled the platinum service for rest of the year and found another local person who is not so commercialized. He agreed to do gutter cleaning, himself speaks over the phone and responds to text immediately. Before coming he asked respectfully what time suits us, he was in the area before so called however when I did not respond as I was in a meeting, texted saying doesn't wish to disturb and he will be back at a convenient time. I prefer personal touch to the service than disorganized automation which induces miscommunication. I would not recommend this service as three times what they said was changed in a simple transaction, First higher quote than decided was provided when I called to confirm so I had to say i will call later and call again,(I initially decided to contact them as they had sent service reminder in the name of previous owner and there were good reviews on the internet, so I thought continuing same service might be better - now in retrospect, even the number provided on the reminder card was wrong and I looked them up by name and called - may be I was just destined for a bad experience which I brought upon myself despite many obstacles and red flags from the beginning) second people showed up at different time than previously agreed upon, third repair service was not provided as described in the plan whatever might be the reason given.

This ended up being much more complicated than it needed to be and will end up costing me more money in the future. Company was hired to clean gutters of house, barn, and small workshop. Received a call that they showed up, but left because "there was a problem". Problem was that there were screens on gutters (duh). Company came back and did the house and the workshop only and removed all the screens but did not re-install, so now I need to get up on the roof myself (defeating the purpose of hiring a company) or pay somebody more than the cost of the gutter cleaning to replace. Noticed the barn was not done and called and again was told "there was a problem". Problem was that on one side about 20% of the gutter was pulling away from the roof. I had pointed this out on the initial call and the answer had been "we do a full assessment when we clean the gutters", ie, no problem. we'll check it out.......so not sure why they came and left yet again. When they finally returned to clean the barn gutters (again removing screens they didn't replace) they said they were going to get me an estimate to repair the gutter that was pulling away. Never heard back from them again. All together this took 4-6 weeks. Bottom line--rushed job on site, slow to get to job, amateurish, and will end up costing me more in the future to replace screens. Look elsewhere.

I called Ned Stevens a few weeks ago to clean our gutters and they were able complete the job recently. They showed up late Tuesday morning and did a good job removing all the leaves. Then they connected their hoses to our water supply and rinsed & cleaned the gutters and downspouts to ensure rain water would flow freely. They were polite, knew what they were doing, had the right equipment and completed the job. We've been using them for the last few years and are satisfied with their service.

I hired these guys to install new gutters as I was having my house re-sided and painted - was actually recommended by my contractors. I had them scheduled to come out before the fascia board were painted. They came to the door at 8 am and told me they couldn't do the job as I have angels on the roof they can't do. I have to get my house painted before the rains come and now I have to find someone else to do the gutters! I am so unhappy right now! It's probably going to take a few weeks to find and get someone out here to install! They do all of this over the phone - I asked the guy if he seen my house on google earth since they won't come out to look and asked about the angle of the house - if that is a problem! He said no!! He took my money and that was it! UGH!! I'm so mad right now.... I'm letting my contractor know! Don't hire these guys unless you have flat gutters as they have no idea how to do them! He said they are custom....aren't ALL gutters custom!! Stay away and get a bid from someone who is willing to come look at your site first. These guys are a scam! Honestly glad they didn't do my gutters now...dodged a bullet!?! UPDATE: After writing this review I received a call from a manager at Ned Stevens and they said they would like to make it right. He said they can put a diverter on the front of the house to fix my angled gutters and divert the water. I said OK. He then stated they he saw that I wrote a review - I told him I would take it down if they make it right. Well, the crew showed up Saturday morning at 7:00 am - this time with a foreman I'm guessing. He went up on the roof and initially said he could put new gutters on the flat sections and tie them into the old gutters on the angles. He then went up on the roof and stated we have steel gutters so they can't tie them in. They can't do the job! So needless to say - we are back to where we started and I've lost two more days of getting my work crew here to finish painting!!! I'm so DONE!!! The worst part is I had called other companies to come and give me quotes, etc. after they came and told me they couldn't do the job, and when Ned Stevens called me back and stated they would make this right, I told the others not to come. So, now I have to wait until Monday just to schedule new quotes... what a waste of time!! Thanks, Ned Stevens!! I should charge you for the hours wasted. I DO NOT Recommend them and my review is HERE TO STAY!! BTW! It's pretty shady when a company asks people to take down reviews.... so I'm going out of my way to make sure it's on ALL review websites! Angie's List, Home Advisers, Google and anything else I can find!! Copy and Paste people!!

It went fine. I didn't like that they used bleach. The chemicals damaged my plants. They were also supposed to clean our small shed but they didn't.

Staff over the phone friendly. Job done within a week of calling. Unfortunately the crew spoke not a single word of English so we were unable to discuss the findings, ask questions, etc. If you have a simple gutter job and don't care to interact with the workers, this may be a reasonable choice. But if you are looking for more personal dialogue and an enduring working relationship, it might be better to go with a smaller company

I called Ned Stevens to clean our gutters in late November and they were able complete the job a few days later. They showed up on a weekend afternoon and did a good job removing all the leaves & small twigs. Then they connected their hoses to our water supply and rinsed & cleaned the gutters and downspouts to ensure rain water would flow freely. Finally they made sure there was no residue on our property. They were very friendly, had the right equipment, knew what they were doing and completed the job rather quickly. We've been using them for the last few years and are satisfied with their service.

When I booked the service, I was told that they would clean and make any repairs to the strapping or loose nails on the gutters. The company does not make appointments, but at my insistence, I was given a date for the service so I could be home when the work was being done. The workers who came out to clean our gutters did not do the repairs that were promised. I could see on some of the lower areas, that the nails were still protruding. The workers did a poor job cleaning up my deck when the job was completed. They used a leaf blower to blow some of the debris off the deck, but left the deck surface, deck furniture and barbecue grill dirty. Later in the day I found a tag, left by the foreman, hanging on the front door. The tag said, "If this box is checked, our foreman found a problem. Please call us for details." The foreman did not mention any problems to me while they were working on my property. When I called the company, I was told my gutters need to be replaced. I asked why the foreman had not told me about this. The representative said that all customer service is handled out of the main office. The representative was nothing but a sales person who tried to sell me an expensive service with a hard sell and scare tactics. I was told that the repairs that were included in my service (but not done), would not correct the problems with the gutters. I was told that I needed to replace the gutters immediately or they would overflow and cause damage to the foundation of my home. Although they claim to have a local office, this is a large company that operates out of a main office in New Jersey. There is no local office or representative to help out if a problem arises. If you prefer to work with local businesses and develop a long term working relationship with your contractors, as I do, this is not the company for you.

When we spoke to you again and you told us about your concerns on the original job we offered to send a crew back to the home free of charge to inspect the job performed but you declined. We have been in business for over 50 years and guarantee all of our work, which is why we offered a return trip. Please contact the office so a manager can follow up with you. Terrible - Hired Ned Stevens to clean gutters and secure a leader. Within a couple of weeks of the job being completed I noticed water streaks on my porch when it rained. As this became progressively worse when it rained I called Ned Stevens and asked them to come out and check the leader they reinstalled -- clearly something was not correct. They told me that they could not come out that day, because I was not on their Diamond Plan even though they advertise "same day service". I called back that day and implored them to come out that day because we were in for a big rain event. They relented and said that they would send someone the next day, but were not able to provide a window. That evening there was a significant rain event. The leader that ran through my porch roof had not been secured properly causing the porch roof to fill with water and begin to fail -- a waterfall in front of my front door. Ned Stevens arrived by 8am the next morning. I happened to have a carpenter on-site who was able to communicate with the team. They acknowledged that the leader was not connected properly and fixed it. They instructed me to call Ned Stevens corporate about the damage. Ned Stevens had me send in pictures and get a few estimates for the repair. After doing all of this, they told me that they would not stand behind their work because over a month it could have been another rain storm that disrupted the leader. This makes no sense....gutter systems don't fail over a thunderstorm. Essentially, they told me that they are not covering any damage. I have been an on-and-off customer for several years at a couple of my properties. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH NED STEVENS AGO -- THE TEAM IN ESSEX COUNTY, NEW JERSEY PERFORMED A SUBSTANDARD JOB ON MY PROPERTY AND IS REFUSING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR POOR WORKMANSHIP. Do yourself a favor and find an alternative before something bad happens to your property. The repair will cost me at least a couple thousand dollars.

Our Quality control manager went out to the home inspected the new screws and caulking that was installed. The system itself has issues that we reported back to you, but with the heavy rainstorms the leader simply disconnected."

We had a horrific experience with Ned Stevens. We were given a price of $1280 and paid a deposit. It took them Three weeks to show up and when they got there, We were told it would be $2400 double the price. This is a bait and switch. Later they called me to try to rectify the situation by doing it for less of the original price. My response to them is "we have lost trust in your company and would not deal with them at any price. I'm posting to make sure they don't take advantage of any else.Find A different contractor even if you pay more.

We've used them for a long time but their pricing is getting outrageous. I think they do a good job, but I think their prices are too high, they just raised their prices. We stopped using them because their rates are just ridiculous. Later on I would like to get the leaf guard. We are spending about $800 a year to get our gutters cleaned out. I think the pricing is high, but they do a good job. They are very efficient but I am going to stop using them because they are too expensive. They are always trying to up-sale you and that is annoying. They guys that have come, they don't really speak to you. Its kind of funny, all of a sudden you hear these ladders on the side of your house and their running up these ladders, its actually frightening sometimes.

We will call you today to discuss perhaps getting you on an alternative service plan. We thank you so much for your loyalty and we always want you to be a happy customer. We will always do a great job for you. As for leaf guard, we sell the product, but we try to talk people out of it because it doesn't work. The tops of all covers become covered and jammed with small debris, and no water gets into your gutters. Instead, the water pours over the top and floods your basement and foundation. We could make a lot of money on these products as others do, but instead we choose to be honest and tell people the facts about these products. Again, we will call you today."
