It went fine. It can be hard to get a hold of Dave, but once you do things go very smoothly.

This job was the most unprofessional, disrespectful experienced I've ever had with any service professional. This company was contacted among may others, prior to the selection of this one. A price was quoted for the service. One quote to remove the tree, and an additional $300 to grind away the stump. The price was agreed upon and the date was chosen for the work to be done. The scheduled date was the 10-4-12. That date had to be rescheduled because the crane operator chosen for the job, became extremely beligerent about where he would need to put his truck, in order to be able to get to the tree. The crane operator refused several suggestions and was told to leave. The job was rescheduled for 10-8-12, with a new crane operator. The tree was taken down, but the stump was not removed. Several phone calls later, a worker came back the following day to remove the stump. The stump was grounded down on the surface only. When questioned, the worker became very disrespectful, stated he had done all he was going to do, and left. The owner was contacted by my daughter in-law, that happens to be an attorney. She was told by the owner, that he had informed me that the stump would only be grounded down on the surface and not completely removed. And that I was told that before the job was started. That is an ABSOLUTE LIE! I had a similar sized tree removed several years ago, which I told the owner about, before the job was agreed upon. In that situation, the tree was cut down and the stump was grounded away completely. If my experience in the past, was to have the tree and stump removed completely, why would I possibly agree to any thing different. It gets worse. I gave the owner an automatic refferal of my neighbor next door. Not only does he get an additional job out of the situation, he used my yard to cut down the neighhbors tree and cut down 2 of my existing trees without my permission. He charged my neighbor the same price as my job and left a stump of considerable height. They left considerable debri in my other neighbor's yard, where my tree was removed. You would think that if you use some else's yard, you would first ask permisson, and then leave it the way you found it. This neighbor was comtemplating using them to remove 2 stumps in his yard. After the way they performed the job in my yard, and the disrepectful manner in which they entered his yard, he decided against using them. In a nut shell, you have one opportunity to make a first impression. I'm an 83 year old gentleman. They chose to take advantage of me because of my age, so they thought. They took advantage of both my neighbors. How often in this economy, do you get a chance to do a job and get another job of the same magnitude, the very same day. No scheduling involved, no advertising, no soliciting, nothing, just an instant opportunity. Most people would welcome that situation. However, this was seen as an opportunity to take advantage of a retired old man and a hard working women. The landscape is filled with failed businesses that choose to provide lousy service. Instead of treating people with the respect you would like to be treated yourself, they decided we didn't desevre it. If you value your self respect, dignity, and hard earned money, you will look elsewhere when deciding on a tree service company.

It's a very simple proposition. Read the review in its' entierty , and then read the owners response . And then ask your self, based on your own personal experiences, who's telling the trurth. Furthermore, if you as a customer had a similar experience, would you expect to be called a LIAR, and denigrated publicy. Or would you expect a more professionally cutomer focused response. You decide.

"First of all I can only assume that this is not the owner writing this review, but the daughter-in-law, who happens to be an attorney (like that matters) and was not present on the job at all. The job was originally scheduled for the day stated which happened to be a rainy day. Our crane operator called us in the morning letting us know he was not available so we called another operator that we have used in the past and he was able to make it. We were very upset with him as well, he gave us a hard time about getting access to the tree so we told him to leave and we would re-schedule with our normal crane operator, this is pretty much the only truth to this review. We removed the tree, which the homeowner was very happy about and then the neighbor asked us to remove her tree as well. Since the crane was already there, we did it the same day. We also asked the neighbor if we could use their yard to get access to the tree because if we had to do it another way the price would have been higher, and ALL parties were fine with this arrangement. All yard were cleaned up after removal of trees. The homeowner was told that we would return the following day to grind the stump as it was late and getting dark and it would take a considerable amount of time to remove. All parties were happy at the end of the day. The next day we returned to grind the stump, after our worker left we received a call because there was a pile of grindings left where the tree stood. This was stated in our contract that we grind the stump and fill in the hole with the mulch that is left from the tree, clearly stated. We were on a job and missed the call and called back 5 minutes later, the homeowner did not answer. We received a call 5 minutes later from his daughter-in-law saying that she was an attorney (I guess this was only shared in an attempt to scare us because who really cares what your occupation is) and explaining the situation to us, we told her we had just returned the phone call and he did not answer. We sent our worked back to address the issue and he wanted the stump grinder lower, meanwhile while our worker was there the homeowner was offensive, cursing and calling him names the entire time so he got fed up and left. David, the owner went back later that day to rectify the issue with the stump. He grinded it down lower and explained that this is what is done on all jobs and unless the homeowner wants to pay extra to have the mulch hauled away, the are filled in the hole. We NEVER took any money upfront from this customer, so the accusation that we took advantage of him is a downright lie. We only took payment upon completion when the customer was finally happy. We made 3 trips back in one day to satisfy him. We have many extremely happy customers and many are seniors because they value our honesty and we always try to work with them regarding pricing. This review is a complete stretch of the truth and written by someone who never stepped foot on the jobsite or had any contact with our company, other than to threaten us. I would hope that you put more value over all of our A ratings than from this lie."

Dave responded to my call in a timely manner, arrived two days later to provide an estimate. The estimate was reasonable so I gave him the go-ahead to do the job. They were unable to do it on the day scheduled (May 21) only becaue it was raining heavily. They rescheduled and came two days later. Both my Holly and Plum trees are over 40 feet high and were very difficult to trim, however, they did a great job. I also had seven large bushes and seven large aborvite trees trimmed. They had three individuals doing the work and they woked diligently and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. The back yard and the front now look beautiful. I would recommend this company.

David came by the home in person and provided an estimate. He was professionally, arrived in a truck with his company logo on it and was very knowledgeable. Once I agreed to go through with the service it did take David a few days to respond and confirm a specific date he would show up to cut and remove the trees. David did all of the work in 1 day. The next day I noticed a few of the small stumps weren't grinded down and asked him to come back to take care of the last few stumps. He showed up later that week grinded them down and cleaned up the debri. All in all David's estimate was very reasonable and he was willing to negotiate with me a little. The service is great and David is very professional. I gave him all A's except for "Responsiveness" (B) because it did take a few days for David to respond to my phone calls and to finally let me know what day he would be showing up (I know he's running a business and way very busy so this could be a reason for the delayed response). All in all, I would hire David again and would certainly recommend him.

They came out and gave an estimate promptly. I waited a week or two to make the decision to go ahead, and when I left that message it took maybe a week for them to get back to me; but I wasn't in a hurry so that didn't bother me. Once they called to confirm the job, they were able to come out the next day and chop down the trees, and came back the day after that to grind the stumps.
