"The client hired us to soft wash the roof, pressure wash the deck, and stain the deck. We completed the roof and deck wash, the client was extremely pleased with the results. However, after staining the deck client requested more stain to be applied. We explained that our process had always delivered excellent results for other clients, but he insisted on adding more stain, even though we advised against it, explaining that additional staining wouldn’t be beneficial given the deck’s condition. Despite our recommendation, the client insisted on the additional stain and refused to pay until we applied the extra stain, but we honored our customer's request despite our recommendation. The next day, the client complained that now the deck had too much stain and was sticky in some areas. We offered to remove the excess stain but made it clear this would be a new service and, given the previous issue with non-payment, required payment upfront. The client agreed to these terms, now realizing it was his decision that caused the excess stain issue. However, when we arrived to do the work, the client delayed paying upfront as promised, stating they’d bring the check shortly. We still proceeded to getting the work done. The client was satisfied and payed us for removing the excess stain. A few days later, the client contacted us again, wanting additional work done on the deck. We provided a reasonable quote and scheduled the service. However, given the prior delays with payment, we requested the client sign a contract outlining the work and payment terms upfront. The client refused to sign the contract, and as a result, we were unable to proceed with the job. We started the roof cleaning the same day he hired us, and completed all cleaning services the next day. We schedule every job 2 weeks in advance, but moved jobs around so we could deliver the services in time for Mr. [Member Name Removed]. We still received 1 star in Responsiveness."
