It was a disaster. It was the only place near me where I knew to go to on a Sunday. My regular auto repair place was Brian's Gulf Station and while they were open for gas, they were not open for auto repairs that day. I taught and was responsible for getting my own substitute for the Charter school where I taught in Atlantic City. I don't like missing days unless I'm very sick and wanted the repair done on this Sunday. As I said above, I had my oil changed at a place on the black horse pike which only does oil changes. They said my brake fluid was very low, below the sensor. They didn't want to fill it up as they wanted whoever I took the car to service it to see the problem so they could diagnose what was wrong. I took it to Pep Boys at around 1 PM and sat waiting for my car until after 6 PM. I didn't mind waiting as I needed the car for the next day. They took over an hour and a half to make the diagnosis that all four brake pads needed to be changed and then told me something I found sort of weird. They told me that the two rear rotors on my car were "rusted" and would have to be replaced because of that reason. It wasn't that the rotors had to be replaced because I waited too long to replace the brake pads. They said that I had to replace them because they were rusted. It was the first time I had the brakes changed in this car. It is now ten years old and I had to have the brakes changed again in March of 2012 because I could feel them go and had them repaired at Bargain Brakes in Northfield which is terrific and reasonable. Pep Boys charged me over $650 to replaced four brake pads and two rotors, which at the time I later found out never needed to be replaced. They took advantage of the fact that I was a woman, in dire need on a Sunday afternoon to repair my car for the work week and left me sitting for over five hours to make repairs for an astronomical amount for repairs to two expensive rotors that didn't need to be replaced. I will NEVER go back in that store for anything; not even to buy a car deodorizer, or buy accessories for the car, itself. The manager at the time (back in December of 2010) is the person that informed me of the "rusted" rotors and charged me this insane price of $650 plus. I was taken and the job was obviously not done properly or at all, for that matter as I had a dangerous situation with my brakes in March of 2012, just a year after the expensive repairs done at Pep Boys. They actually replaced the four brake pads and the two rear rotors for a total of $243 while I waited for just over an hour.

I have been to Pep-boys before. They have a very friendly and HELPFUL staff. This time I went for new mud guards and wipers before going on a long trip I needed the current ones changed. The floor clerk was able to show me just what I needed.  Once before, I needed a headlamp, it was closing time, and dark out when I discovered my headlamp was out.  One of the emplyoees installed it for me at no charge. Always nice and helpful.

I took my car there, they did the work I waited for the car, and it took about an hour, they have a ok waiting   room. and I would tell my friends and family about them. thanks Mike D

Right now I go to Pep Boys and ask them some 15% discount of the top after they gave me the price and that’s why I go now. They pretty much write the ballpark which supposed to pay. If I had any problem they always take my truck right back and fix it and they’ll return it right back when they’re done and they don’t say one word they just go and fix it. That’s why I love them and they’re fast. It’s not even about how much I pay it’s about whatever part you need in your car right – they give a great price no matter what – like I said you can’t take the first price like I said if you take a $130 you can ask them for a 15% discount and they will agree because they already got the leverage so they could move around. If it’s a $115 box you tell them can you do it for a $100 and they will work with you and they’ll end up doing that. I got many experience in all this local mechanics around here that’s why I went to Pep Boys. Their price is definitely reasonable.

I went in in the late afternoon, and need to be on the road out of town in the morning. This is a great place to go if you really have to get a repair done while you wait. The repair is done right, as far as I could tell. It's like going to an 'urgent care' place instead of your own doctor. It's pretty much cut and dried. It's not the place to ask whether a repair is worthwhile on your old heap!

.. SO I FINALLY AGREED TO HIM FIXING MY FUEL LINE. I WAS CHARGED OVER $200 FOR LABOR AND WELL OVER $150 FOR MISC. WORK.. OR AS I WOULD CALL IT.. UN-NEEDED WORK. I PAID OVER $330 AND PICKED UP MY EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE UNTIL I GOT IT HOME AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START!! MY DAUGHTER CALLED THE STORE TO INFORM THEM THAT IN FACE MY CAR WASN'T FIXED! THEY THEN STATED THAT THEY DIDN'T PUT THE NEEDED CLAMP ON MY CAR BUT A ZIP TIE.. WHICH IS A 1 CENT PIECE OF PLASTIC.. MY SON CAME OVER TO PUT THE CLAMP ON THAT THE CAR NEEDED BUT HE WASN'T ABLE TO BECAUSE PEP BOYS BROKE THE BOLT WHICH EXPLAINS WHY THEY PUT A ZIP TIE ON MY CAR AND CHARGED ME WELL OVER $300 FOR! SO AFTER MY CAR WOULDN'T START I CALLED THE STORE TO LET THEM KNOW EVERYTHING AND THEY STATED THAT I NEEDED TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED BACK TO THEIR STORE.. ANOTHER $150 AND LET HIM LOOK AT MY CAR TO SEE WHAT HE THINKS IT NEEDS.....UGGGGGGHHHHH SO I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE TO COMPLAIN AND THEY TOOK MY COMPLAINT AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD GET BACK WITH ME IN 24 HOURS.. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN...JUST DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE... TAKE IT TO THE ZOO AND LEAVE IT IF YOUR GOING TO TAKE IT TO PEP BOYS!
