Mr. Mishak advertises 3-5 days to renovate a bathroom on Craigslist. I went to his store several times to pick out a shower enclosure that he was to provide. We purchased new fixtures and tile for him to install. When Mr. Mishak showed up to begin work I questioned why the shower was not the same brand that he showed me in a catalog. He told me it was the same quality but a different manufacturer. He did not give me a contract to sign which is a violation of New Jersey state law. After the demolition was done he began to install the shower and tile. He never showed up on time and often left a helper who didnt speak english. The shower was not installed properly and when I questioned him he told me it was done correctly. The tile job was horrible. He put in some new sheetrock that was installed very poorly. The shower door actually shattered the day following him adjusting the doors which were not closing properly. The 3-5 day job took over 35 days until I finally gave up on him. I hired another contractor who ripped out the shower, the floor tile, and some wall tile that was installed incorrectly. The new contractor fixed the job in 3 days. I took Mr. Mishak to small claims court to get back the money I paid him. I won a judgement against him which he has not paid as of July 13th 2011. He does not take my calls. I would advise everyone to stay away from him. He is very unprofessional and does very poor work.

Roman and his team were presented with a difficult situation because our project was a repair project from a previous contractor who not only bailed on our project, but he also severely damaged our home. Needless to say that my husband and I were extremely nervous about putting our trust and money in someone else. Roman completely understood our concerns and graciously took us to see other projects that his team had completed. We not only were able to tour the project but we were also able to talk to the home owners. Even though we liked what we saw we were still nervous because of how bad we had been burned in the past but we did move forward and allowed Roman's team to begin the work. We are sincerely thrilled that we made this decision because their work is superior to any work I've seen in the past. They are extremely detailed and do their best to keep their work area as clean as possible. One of the most surprising things that Roman did is that he gave us advice on how to do part of the project another way that actually saved us money but eliminated potential income for himself. He said "why waste the money if you don't need to." Anyone who knows most contractors' reputations knows that this is a rare characteristic to find in this field. Roman is meticulous when it comes to laying tile and makes sure that everything is perfectly level. The other thing that I respect about Roman's team is that if they don't know how to do something they will be the first ones to say that this particular request is not their area of expertise. For example, I asked if they wanted to also paint and Roman's reply was that his team wasn't proficient painters and that he prefer for me to hire another team who were experts in this area. Most contractors try to act like they can 'do it all' and it's a 'one stop shop.' We all know this is not true for example if we have a foot problem, we go to a podiatrist. If we have an earache, we go to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. We use a variety of specialists to care for our physical body so we shouldn't treat the home that houses that body any differently. Lastly, I'll say that Roman simply has a good attitude about his work. He's a consummate professional with a great sense of humor. We have already hired Roman for another project and I'm sure we will hire him again in the future. I highly recommend his team to anyone who is about to undergo renovation... you'll just have to wait until they're done with our project first. :)
