The overall experience with the company was not good. They initially scheduled a date of service. On the service day, I called them 'cause I didn't see anyone coming. They apologized and rescheduled. Scott later came and did a good job.

Angie's List discontinued their recommendation of this provider. My money was credited back to my account.

Nothing. He did not show up on the appointed day. Finally after several phone calls, texts and emails I got a return text saying Sorry for the lack of communication. Never heard from them again. Had to request refund from Angie (This was a big deal)

They showed up and everything else. The drawing was more or less like a stick drawing. I was under the impression it would be a 3D rendering of the kitchen and everything else and it was not. It just got to the point where I had no confidence in the contractor nor his person who came and drew the thing up. So, I just kind of let it go. I started to come back to you guys so you give me my $50 back but I figured there was no need to go there so I just let it go. I was not satisfied with the service, that is for sure. I had them come out shortly after I purchased the service. There were some delays in getting here. Other than that, the contractor was cool. He came in, suggested some things, I thought his pricing was a little high but that was about it. I gave him a budget and his coming back to me was $4000 over budget. I had my own appliances. I gave him a budget of $15000, he came back with an estimate of $19000. Like I said, I had my own refrigerator. I had all new appliances and everything else at that point of time and I am trying to figure out where all this extra money went. He was trying to direct me and I did not want granite counter tops, he wanted me to get granite counter tops, this, that and the other. The one thing that I was looking for, was bamboo cabinets at the time. I knew where I could get bamboo cabinets at, he came back through and he is going the same place that I am getting them at, I can understand a man making the profit but not $5000 over some cabinets that just have to be put together. We just could not get to a happy medium as far as doing business is concerned so I just let it go. I thought he was rather expensive for what I wanted done but we never really got to the point where we finalized everything. I doubt seriously if I would deal with the guy again. He was a very personable person which most people are but from the business side of it, I wouldn't chose to probably do anything else with him. The response was good. They pretty much showed up when they said they were going to show up. They were professional.

Providers wife came out and took pictures. She was very pleasant. Called me to say she was running late. Provider was scheduled to come 2 wks later and do the job. Cancelled on day of appointment.; was supposed to call to reschedule. ; didnt happen. Have not heard from them since

I called Angie's List and asked for my money back on Big Deal since they were obviously not interested in working.

Scott, the owner said he himself would be doing the work and then he sent an "associate". The associate did not have the skills to work with dry wall. The wall has all kinds of bumps, the sconce plates are not flush with the wall causing the lights to not hang properly. The worker became flustered and visibly annoyed by the task. I sent Scott a photo and asked him to come out and fix the mess. I should have stopped right then. He came a week later and appeared to make some adjustments and left. My task was to now try and smooth the bumps of the poorly applied joint compound. I'm pretty good at applying spackle, but this was beyond repair. So, it's now day three of me sanding in vain to remedy the situation, the paint is dry and I rehang the sconces on the crooked wall plates they had mounted. The dam mounting plate falls out of the wall and the light crashes down! I guess you could say that you get what you pay for. Now I'm calling a non-Angie's list carpenter to come fix it. Maybe these contractors offering bargain deals are trolling for big fish? I don't understand how this company got the other high scoring reviews. Needless to say, beware of these bargain deals. I'm very disgusted. **(I had dismissed a tiny red flag by another Angie's list reviewer, stating this company hung a slanted shelf and the homeowner had to point it out.)

It went well. It was not the projects that I had wanted them to do unfortunately because they didn't have the expertise to do them.

very well - Scott came out on a Saturday after we had some scheduling conflicts and was very willing to get all of my list taken care of with the special. I would recommend Scott in the future, thanks!

The molding was a little crooked on the bookshelf but he kindly repositioned it after I mentioned it.

He was so efficient that I let him leave early because he finished it all. He was right on time, did everything that he said he was going to do and he did a very good job. He was a pleasure to deal with!

The overall job went well and his work effort was consistent and reliable. I was first introduced to A&R because I needed drywall repairs. Since that experience went well, I had him do both bathrooms. Those projects were successful, so I hired him to remodel our entire kitchen. Each project has challenges but I was very satisfied that A&R was able to solve and complete their work. A&R can do most aspects of a residential rehab. Beyond their proficient carpentry, I appreciated how accessible and responsive they were by phone, text or email. As a business person, I needed invoices to track payments. A&R always provided invoices and signed off on work completed. Too many times other contractors struggle with basic technology and communication. So working with A&R was refreshing. I recommend them for most home remodeling.

A & R Construction...what can't I say about them?! Their service was unmatched! When companies are scamming you left and right it is so comforting to know that honest people are still out there! I recently moved in my home and my furniture is very expensive but they wrapped and moved everything so nothing would be destroyed. They finished in the time agreed upon. My ceiling was vaulted exactly how I wanted and the paint job was perfection!
