"John Asch Contracting Receives approximately 20 to 30 calls every day. After the 70 MPH storm we had in March that changed to approx. 80 to 100 calls per day. We are not able to handle that many calls nor do I want to. When that many calls come in we do the best we can working 16 hour days. Some times we miss some people or a few leads fall between the cracks. If we can't get you a price in time, get over it & just call some one else. We do the best work of any roofers out there with the clients we sign contracts with. I never said I can take on all the roofing jobs in NJ. JOHN ASCH......."
"I go out on approximately 6 estimates daily. As always I made an exact appointment. I even called ahead about 15 minutes before I got there to confirm. I arrived right on time. I was greeted at the door & was told to wait there. After about 10 minutes of waiting, with no one showing up, I left. I wasted about 90 minutes of my time going to there house. 95 % of my clients are great. Every once in a while you get a turkey."
"On approx. Feb. 2009, My company did a roof for this member, located in Franklin Park, NJ. The contract called for removing two layers of roofing. The old roofing had latex caulking adhered to the edge of the roof & the siding above the roof. We put back one layer of roofing & never use caulk on top of a new roof. Manufacturer of roofing materials does not call for caulk along siding, ever. Upon completion of the job, our one layer of new roofing is lower then the previous two layers & caulk. So now for the first time in many years the bottom edge of the siding is exposed. It is no longer hidden behind the old roof & caulk. This siding is the brittle type. 2 foot wide pieces similar to asbestos siding. It has many small bits missing & cracked. Where the siding is missing or irregular you now can see the aluminum step flashing for the first time. The home owner is upset that it shows. He wants it not to show. I said to him no problem. He would have to hire my company or another company to remove the siding, buy new product, cut & install it lower to sit fully right down to the roof. Then paint it all to match. Or he can also do it himself. He doesn't like that idea. He says it is my problem & wants it fixed for free.( I am enclosing a copy of the contract & photos.) I was never hired to do siding work. Nor does it come up in the contract job description. In the 55 years we have been doing roofing, this is the first time a homeowner asked for free siding repairs after doing a roof. I invite any person to look closely at our roof job. It is perfect as always. Nothing is missing. It does not leak. JOHN.........."
"I am amazed that a home owner would take the time to complain about the fact that I got a flat tire, called to say I am sorry and could not make the appointment I guess it would have been better If I just didn't show up with out calling??"
