AN UNBEATABLE CHIMNEY SVC

Found his manner to be a bit unprofessional. Was getting an estimate for something and he spent too much time telling me everything everybody else did wrong in my house. I don't think he realized that his criticism of other companies in the area is not a good selling point to use this company's services. All it did was scare me into going in a different direction and getting another opinion on the service I require. Price was good and the company was prompt in returning calls and on time for appointment, but I need somebody who can give it to me straight without scaring the daylights out of me!

It is rare to encounter a home services company as unprofessional as An Unbeatable.  After stringing us along with endless rescheduling for a month after he gave us an estimate and we gave him a deposit, Tom finally showed up to replace our chimney liner.  However, when he arrived to do the work, he realized that he would need scaffolding to access our chimney.  This should not have been a surprise as he did an on-site estimate.  Another two weeks passed before Tom was able to secure scaffolding for the job.  He then spent an entire day "working" on our chimney, only to inform me that the 6" liner he had assured me would fit did not actually fit out chimney.  Instead of coming back the next day to complete the job with a smaller liner, as one might expect, he told me that he had already spent too much time on our project and would not be finishing the job.  We currently have no chimney liner at all, as Tom removed the old liner without installing a new one.  Furthermore, I have no idea what condition he actually left my chimney in.  Essentially, he provided a low estimate to get the job, and then when he realized that he had gone too low for the amount of work that needed to be done, he walked away. He refunded our deposit, but the fact is, he wasted six weeks of our time.  It is mid-November and other chimney companies are booked solid.  It will be extremely difficult to find a more reputable company to come before we absolutely must run the heat with small children in the house.  Avoid this company at all cost.
