I could not have been more disappointed in the quality of their work or their response to my complaints. I went to the store personally to describe and order what I wanted made up for my 40th wedding anniversary (my wife is partial to yellow daisies--not an expensive blossom--and yellow roses). When the order was delivered, there was not a SINGLE daisy included in the bouquet; the roses were well past their prime; and the "fall blossoms" they included were actually so old they were brown around the edges! My wife graciously accepted the gift, but we both agreed to throw them out the very next day...that's how ugly it was! I went to the store on the following Monday to voice my displeasure. The owner INSISTED that the bouquet was "beautiful" when it left the store, and could not understand what happened to the flowers between putting them on the van and delivery. Neither can I, since St George is FOUR BLOCKS from my house! After much wrangling, the owner agreed to give me a $20 "credit." He took a Sharpie, wrote, "$20 credit, 9/24/13" on the back of a shipping label from some company in Dallas, and handed it to me. He didn't even sign it, and it didn't even have the store's name on it. What was I supposed to do with that? I was so upset that I disputed the credit card charge for the entire order. Sure enough, when St. George's found out, they called me and insisted that they were due SOMETHING, since he delivered "some flowers'" even though I was unhappy with them. He was immovable, and I had to listen to how "he's a small business," and how "he had to pay for delivery," and etc. I agreed to pay him $25 just to get him off my back. Today I went to the store and asked (again) if he was SURE he wanted to proceed this way. I reminded him that I have 3 sons who live in town, all of whom buy flowers for their significant others, and who would certainly never do business with him if he was going to continue to insist on payment . I also reminded him that there are such things as Angie's List, where happy AND unhappy customers report on businesses like his. He was 'way more interested in the 25 bucks than his reputation, so here's my review for all to see. The final joke is that he couldn't even give me a credit card receipt for the 25 bucks I gave him; he was "out of paper" for the credit card machine. What a businessman! Buy your sweetie flowers at Stop & Shop. They're fresher, cheaper, and at least you can see what you're getting before you pay for them. DON'T go to St. George!
