We had another contractor out this week who told us our system was completely shot and needed replacement for 17k. CRT responded within 30 minutes to my call and sent Curt out within hours. Curt fixed the unit in no time flat and for a fraction of our replacement quote. We will recommend this company to everyone and anyone. I can't thank Chris enough for having this great company. I will use them every time the need arises.

Air conditioner was deemed dead and gone. Received a reasonable quote and a work was done in an extremely timely manner and with the utmost professionalism. Will definitely call them again when my other unit goes!

Chris Thomas, President of CRT Mechanical answered the call for help from the Animal Adoption Center! After a long, hot hard day of work, he drove from an hour away and climbed up on the roof. Not only did he fix the unit, he also did not charge us a single penny. While we do need to replace the unit in the future , the dogs are cool for now thanks to Chris! Chris is a good citizen who volunteered his time and expertise to help us in out time of need. Without him, our adoptable dogs not only would have been uncomfortable but could have also faced possible heat stroke. Chris and CRT Mechanical saved the Animal Adoption Center over $700 in repairs and service fees!!

It went really well. The service manager did the work. He phoned ahead to let me know when he would be here and he arrived at the promised time. He brought in all the parts that had needed to be ordered and proceeded to take off the old units and replaced them with the new. He then tested the system to make sure that all was working as it should. He cleaned up everything and took the old parts to the truck. There was virtually nothing for me to do. I would recommend CRT very highly.

Same out next day. Came prepared with parts that may be needed to fix the issue after briefly trouble shooting on the phone. Fixed on the spot. Educated me not only on better maintanence of the unit but also took the time to explain some other functioning parts of my central AC and how I may be able to improve performance in the future. Will use them again in the future if the need arises.

Chris is the owner. He has been responsive, knowledgeable and even got me an upgraded system at no additional charge when the supplier made a mistake. My work is now complete and I can't say enough about what a great guy Chris is. If you are getting Heating/AC work done, you should use CRT. Chris worked overtime to get my system installed to meet a deadline for the required inspections. His work passed all inspections with no problems. Chris had faced unusual circumstances when the city said the outdoor unit had to be moved from where we had originally planned. The situation was a real headache, but Chris came through for me without complaint. CRT is the company you want to use.

My AC system was leaking Freon. I was given a reasonable quote to replace the unit. However, I took the opportunity to upgrade the whole set up to a money saving, efficient set up. Dan was very professional and helped me choose the right set up for my house. He stayed until the job was done, which took all day. I think they started at 8am and finished around 6pm. Chris also showed up to help with the install process. The whole company was very professional and polite. I'm not sure what the average price is to install one of these systems but you get what you pay for and I trust that the system will last a long time. I will continue to have CRT check out my system once a year to keep it in good working condition.

Our experience with CRT Mechanical was excellent from start to finish. The furnace and A/C compressor at our 2nd home at the beach was well over 30 yrs old, and it finally gave out 2 weekends ago. We began working with another company in the area who basically ignored us for a week (even though they promised a quick quote). Giving up on them, I called CRT Mechanical, and the experience was the exact opposite of the other company. My call was answered promptly, and referred to the company owner (who was in the field on another job). He called me back within 30 minutes and listened to our problem. He promised a quote later that day, and he made it to my property, and sure enough, called me with a very reasonable quote that same evening. I gave him the "GO" on the spot, and he and his crew were here in 2 days to complete the work. The communication was excellent and the product and timeliness were fantastic. Would strongly recommend CRT Mechanical to others.

Within two hours, he was here, fixed it, and gave us tips on how to do easy maintenance ourselves. I will absolutely call again if I need service again.

We bought a house "as is" and we knew the heating system needed work. Chris came out to install a new circulating pump and to install a relay because the homeowners had it rigged that you needed to flip a switch to get the circulator to work. After doing that the system was pouring out water at a high rate so Chris had to come back the following Monday to do some more work to the system. We felt it was very expensive, and didn't plan on the expense but couldn't have the overflow dumping gallons of water. He installed a bigger expansion tank and a bunch of other stuff as well as breaking out the system into 2 zones so we can keep each floor at a different temperature. (fireplace on 1 floor) He was in my house that 2nd time for hours before he got done. I did think it was expensive but he really did a lot of work. Oh and he did give us a bit of a discount so that was nice. His mom answers the phone and she is lovely also. He's a nice guy who knows his stuff.

I placed my air filter and after doing so the heating system was not working properly. I called Chris and he was out at my house within the hour. He found that I had disconnected a wire when I replaced the air filter. He showed me where it was and gave me some helpful tips if I had this same situation happen again. He charged me for the service call only which was originally 150.00 dollars. He mentioned to me if I go and print out the coupon that was on Angie's list, he would give me $ 20.00 off. I printed out the coupon which was only for $10.00 but he was gave me $20.00 off anyway. He was very pleasant, professional and informative. I would certainly call Chris in the future.re

From the first time I called CRT Mechanical, its owner Chris was extremely responsive. He came to my home to give me an estimate of the extent of the problem and his recommended solution. His manner was courteous, professional, and low-key. At no time did I feel that he was pressuring me to have more work done than I need, or to even hire him at all for the repair When he returned to do the work, he continued to be professional in all respects. The work was done to my satisfaction, at the price I was initially quoted, and my house & yard left clean. I would highly recommend Chris & CRT Mechanical. His work ethic is excellent; his prices, while not inexpensive, are reasonable and within the ballpark I expect to pay; he worked within my schedule gladly, and answered all questions I had about the new units.

CRT and Chris are the best! I was taking care of my mom's house and she was scheduled to return August 10. I went over to check on things and found that the AC was not working! And, it was a very hot day! I fiddled with the thermostat several times and decided I needed to call Chris. He had recently serviced our AC and did a fantastic job. Although he was very busy, Chris showed up in no time at all, diagnosed the problem, and promptly took care of everything. In addition to replacing the motor, he explained to my mom (who showed up toward the end of the job!) what she needed to consider in order to maintain her current AC and upgrade in the near future. Chris was friendly, professional and extremely competent. He very carefully explained everything to my 80 year old mother. Do not hesitant to call Chris and CRT for all of your heating and air conditioning needs. We are so happy we found this company (you never know when you may need assistance--for us it was two back to back jobs!).

We called CRT due to wonderful Angie's List recommendations and were extremely pleased with everything. Chris and another company rep returned our phone call and we arranged for service. Chris was prompt, professional, and informative. He worked for three hours and kept my husband posted on every aspect of the job and asked for permission to do what he thought needed to be done. It was the first time we called for service on our AC and didn't know where to begin. Thank goodness for Angie's List! We are new Angie's List members and this one service call alone was worth the year's membership investment. We HIGHLY recommend Chris and CRT Mechanical and will call them again to maintain our air conditioner AND our heating system. We're sold on CRT!

Air-conditioner wasn't blowing cold air. Chris, the owner, came out within an hour, checked the whole system. Felt that he was one of the few "honest" guys out there. It is an older system, so it would have been easy to say a lot more things were wrong with it. He found a blown fuse, tightened all connections, added a lb. of Freon and changed brass O rings. Was very helpful with advice. Will be using CRT to do some preventative maintenance. Trust they will help to keep the system functioning properly. Felt the price was fair.

The ac unit appears to be perfroming properly.

I called CRT on July 3rd during a heat wave. Chris came over and Inspected our central air system on the same day as my call(very good!) He found that the system was frozen and that he would return the next day to allow time for the coil to thaw,even though it was July 4. The next day he returned on a holiday and performed excellent service to get us up and running during an extended heat wave. We were very thankful!

I would not use this company again.

The technician was prompt. He explained everything that he was doing. He did not have his vacuum with him because the order said it was for a/c, but he took the parts out to his truck and air cleaned them. He told me to have my gas man come because he could not get the furnace to come up to the proper reading whcih I did and the gas man was able to adjust it properly. He advised me to change my batteries in the thermostat, which was a good thing because I did not remember when they were changed last. I did find a screw on the floor when he left, but the gas man knew were it went when he came. Overall I was pleased with the work and would have them do work again.

I contacted CRT on a Friday and they arranged to send out a technician the following Wednesday. Chris showed up on time (actually 15-20 minutes early and waited), which I appreciated given that I don't live near the service property and needed to arrange an appointment. We knew that we likely needed a new AC unit, but Chris wanted to explore all possibilities of fixing, restoring, or problem solving our existing unit before spending money on a new one. I can appreciate them not simply trying to sell us on getting new service. He also took all the time in the world to try to educate me on the products and the way in which they work. After giving his estimate, which he provided during the same visit, he gave us time to think about our needs and let us get back to him. Based on his responsiveness, attitude, quality pricing, and knowledge about the products and services, we decided to use them and arranged an appointment for service a few weeks later. The day that they were due for service, they arrived on time (6:30 in the am),worked for most of the day (about 7 hours) and did a great job in terms of efficiency and quality install. I really liked Chris's attitude towards Angie list customers.

Our AC unit broke down during the evening of 6/21/2012 and we called CRT Mechanical Heating and air conditioning on 6/22/2012 around 8/30- 9am timeframe and they had someone here within 20 minutes of my call. He rang our doorbell intruduced his self as Chris shook my hand .He looked at the unit in front of me and told me just what was wrong with it,had our unit up and running within a matter of 15-20 minutes or less. Chris was an excellenct person and serviceman,very polite ,dog friendly and wonderful personality ,I would recommennd this bussiness to all. Very wonderful service and price that makes you happy and doesn't kill your pocket book or wallets. Thank you CRT for your service and Chris your a wonderful service man and person keep up all your great work ! Pet Tank for us, he is so cute and what a size he is! Chris you also made two new friends Tiki and Koa our yellow and black labs loved you too and Thank you for keeping them big guys nice and cool too! Air conditioner coil inside my heater was leaking as the drainage track around the core rusted out. Got on Angies list and found CRT had great reviews. I called Thursday afternoon explained the issue. I work many hours and was concerned about when they would be able to come out. The lady that answered the phone was very friendly explaining they have many accounts that require flexibility and they are flexible to what I needed. (wow). She scheduled an appointement the very next night - Friday night. Chris came out on time as scheduled. I explained I just wanted a coil replaced. He explained what had to be done and what caused the issue. Continued to explain some of poor installation of ductwork leading into the heater and why and that he would correct that issue also. At that point I asked how much a new system would be as mine was about 18 years old and am guessing came with the house. Chris was great. He said let me write up your estimate for the coil. At the same time I'll do an estimate on a similar replacement and a more efficient replacement just to give you an idea. He wrote up the three estimates and explained each one thouroughly and answered every question I asked. I asked him to give me his honest opinion as to what he would do if it was him. He asked me a few questions as to my situation of moving, how bad it would hurt financially as it was tough times, etc etc. He then gave me his honest opinion as I thought. He was not high pressure at all. That was great. He did not push any one more than the other but explained what he would do and why if in my situation. With that he tottaly explained that I had to do what I was comfortable with. He also took the time to explain the diff between all the brand name units and why he reccomends the vendor companies units he uses. Same quality, guanrantee etc as all the others but overall less. Said he only reccomends the least cost one he uses as it is basically the same as all the others, is equal quality and has the same warranty and guarantees. Here is someone that cares. I told him I had a lot to think about and would call him. He gave me his cell number and said call him any time. I jokingly said Sunday? He said yes, I am here for the customer. Then the install question. When can you install? I got the same answer as the office. We know people work and are flexible to your needs. His honesty made it easy for me to go from the cheap fix of the coil to the middle estimate. Anyway, I called him Sunday afternoon and said I am going with his reccomondation. (not the most expensive option but in the middle). Said he would look first thing Monday morning if the unit was in stock and his office would call to schedule the install. They called first thing Monday and scheduled the install for Tuesday. Fantastic after coming out of a few hot days in the beginning of the summer. Chris showed up on time and did the install in one day. Here is a company that looks out for the customers best interest. Realizes it is tough times, people work various hours and are flexible to the customer, not there to rip you off or sell you more than you need. Here is a company that has a work ethic that will take them far. A little advertising from them about their ethic will grow them fast. I will let everyone I know how good this company is to work with. A+++++++++++ Service Thank you.

At about 11PM on a Sunday night I discovered that my furnace had stopped heating. It was 21 degrees out. I called CRT shortly after they opened the next morning. Being a new customer I was prepared for some delay in service. The lady who answered was very friendly and understanding. She arranged for a service call and within the hour a tech was at my door. He was very professional and within a short period of time had diagnosed my problem. He left to get the needed part and was back within the hour. He installed the new part and in no time i had heat again. He was thorough and explained everything to me as he worked including tips for keeping my unit running well. I was expecting a hard sell to buy a new system since my furnace is 20 yrs old. Instead I got good advice and good service on what turned out to be a perfectly good furnace. I talked to him about a service contract and again...instead of a hard sell he explained the basics and told me how to proceed if I wanted that service. The price seemed reasonable and fair. I probably will get a service contract and will definitely use CRT's services again in the future if required. I would highly recommend CRT for any HVAC service to any of my friends or neighbors. What I thought might be an unpleasant experience was just the opposite. A very positive experience.

"These guys came in and cleaned up the mess left by a shoddy installlation of another. They managed to salvage the new a/c unit that I had installed earlier this past summer that didn't work correctly all season. The new a/c unit was not compatible with my existing furnace, therefore polluting the new unit and rendering the furnace in such a precarious state for the upcoming winter, I decided to replace that too. They had to make two separate follow up visits for minor tweaks, but were always prompt and pleasant.
