How'd it go? It went well! Aside from the sticker shock of the cost of shop-hours to repair, I believe I received good value for my dollar. I believe that I could have had the same services performed cheaper if I shopped around more, but the Pep Boys brand and their convenience was compelling enough. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. The repairs appear to have been properly made, and I never detected any sales pitch for unneeded repairs or services. Being a bit presumptuous on my end, I showed up early to pick up my vehicle anticipating completion of my repairs to discover that the air-conditioning compressor they replaced was defective. The manager offered me a ride home which I declined. Estimates for these repairs were slightly higher at other repair facilities, and I doubt I would have had the same individual attention. Wendy was my service rep with an assist by Carlos. Dave was the manager, and Levi completed the transaction when I eventually picked up my Tahoe. Nobody likes to spend a heap of dough on auto repairs, but I would go back to this Pep Boys for more repairs. One other comment, as is the case with a chain store, I would have rather had DELCO parts instead of Bosch, but about 9-months ago I had my fuel pump replaced similarly, and that has been trouble-free, so who's to say if Bosch is any less dependable. Another comment, I wanted to save the old parts as a learning experience, and I requested same. Unfortunately, that did not occur, but my satisfaction level remains high.

They were supposed to have checked all my tires for air pressure, but they did not. On the way out, I asked the mechanic, and he said that he was going to do it right away. I thought the tire that was flat was the tire that had the hole in it, but it was another tire, so, they had to put a plug-in at this other tire. I went with them because the tire that I needed was on sale, and they had the actual tire. I like that it is a drive-in; you do not need an appointment. In some aspects, I thought it was great, and in other aspects like their service facility is filthy, but the guy at the front desk was fantastic. The waiting room needed a little bit of cleaning up. I would probably go to them again for certain things though.

The service representatives took the time to explain procedures and shortcomings, and they were very personable. I think they're fees for service are steep, charging "book value" for the job rather than the actual hours, so there is a possibility customers can be overcharged for actual work performed, but that is the case in some other shops as well. I am a satisfied customer and I think I got average value for my dollar. I am a repeat customer and would go there again - to the Cherry Hill location. My vehicle was towed to their shop Sunday night, and they completed the work Wednesday morning - that's a long time, but I realized before I went there that this could happen - and that has happened at dealers too though.

After the oil change, I noticed that they didn?t put the light bulb cover back on. I was hesitant to have them do more work for the second visit, but I decided to get it done anyway. When I looked at the bill, I noticed that everything was itemized wrong- I was charged twice for things and was charged $25 for a PM inspection (which they later acknowledged was a mistake). I wanted them to refund at least the service fees, but the manager agreed to refund $90 and redo the break check. I feel uncomfortable going back again since I have had problems both times I have gone now.

I have been satisfied up until now. My car didn't pass inspection so I took it to Pep Boys to fix it. They didn't fix it and I took it back 5 more times for the same thing and they never got it to pass inspection. My check engine light was on and they never corrected it.
