When the person, who I can only imagine was the owner of the company called me back, I explained that I was looking for an estimate and asked if he was available on June 15th to come and look at the roof. I explained I was taking the day off to meet with several other companies and gain an estimate and his response was, and I quote, " WELL WHY DON'T YOU JUST FOCUS ON THEM THEN." My response was, "well if that is the way you want to approach it" and he hung up."
How can a professional in this day in age get offended by me wanting to get several quotes on a job and treat a potential customer that way. I do not know his work or his pricing. Since most of them do not want to come out on a weekend, I have to take a day off from work to meet with them, therefore I feel they should work around my schedule and not theirs if they want my business. But this says a lot about the professionalism of Novalis Roofing Co. along with their character. Any Business owner that does not respect that a customer wants to shop around for the best work at a fair price and not even willing to bid on a job is a company that I will never deal with and one that I feel you should not either. Novalis gets an F in the first minute of conversation. First impressions are everything. Novalis FAILED

You should have something to compare and discuss before deciding on the best contractor to suit your needs. I have always believed that customers deserve that option and I welcome competitive bids especially for first-time buyers. While no contractor wants to turn down any potential business, I did suggest to you, politely I hope, that your best result would be to focus on the other companies you planned to have come on that particular Monday. My company was starting a large and complicated job on that day (approx. 2 weeks out) and you needed competitors to all show up on the same day, which made it difficult for me to manage both properly. You insisted on that date, and had you already lined up approximately 3 others on that day. Since you were not in an emergency repair situation, I believed that your needs were best served moving ahead without my bid. We did speak at length, though I do not believe I hung up on you. Sorry for this misunderstanding, but thank you for your feedback."

"There seems to be some confusion. I stopped by your home on two occasions, but it appeared no one was home. On May 27,2014, I went onto the roof and noted there was repair and maintained rwork needed around the chimney and dormers, as well as several shingle replacements. The estimate given was $595.00, not $5000. Novalis Roofing Co Inc has never given a "drive by" estimate in over 40 years of business."

Your name was put on a list, but was overlooked due to the 100+ plus calls received due to the storm. I apologize for the error. I make every effort to respond in a timely manner, and failed to do so. Again, my sincere apology."
