They will bring you into the dealership with a low price.
Then, they will try to cram money into every other place in the contract. You need to check every single line item on that contract. Every single one. If you don't understand it, look it up yourself because they will lie to you.

The body shop manager, Bobby Tuite, inspected our car and promptly provided us with a cost estimate at the time of our initial visit. (One of the two other body shops from which we obtained estimates took more than 24 hours to get the estimate to us.) The cost estimate from Caldwell Toyota was $900-$1100 lower than the estimates we received from the other two body shops. Bobby also told us that he could complete the work in 4 business days, which was similar to one other shop and less than the third, which estimated 6 business days. The work at Caldwell Toyota was completed in 4 business days, as estimated; and the final cost was identical to the estimated cost. Best of all, the quality of the work done was excellent--our car looked like new!. The only slight negative was the somewhat brusque manner of the receptionist with whom we dealt, but this was far outweighed by the good price and excellent quality of the work performed. I would not hesitate to use Caldwell Toyota again for body work in the future.

After receiving an estimate from Caldwell Toyota, my insurer sent them a check to cover the amount of the repair. I dropped off the car which I was told would be repaired in one week. However, when I called to pick it up, I was told they had to order a part and it would not be ready until the following week, causing me to extend my car rental an additional week. When I came in on a Saturday to pick up the car, I was told I needed to pay a $1000 deductable. When I told them they had already received a check for the full amount I was told their Finance department was closed on Saturday so they could not confirm that until Monday. When I got my insurance company to talk with them and confirm the payment was sent, they told me that no matter what my insurance company said they could not release the car unless I paid the deductable. So I had to pay the deductable and return the next Monday to meet with the Finance department and get my account credited. What a mess! The body shop cashier had no record of my insurance check that was received by the Finance department in the building next door to them! And to top it off, the bill of $1408 was about 10% higher than their estimate of $1290. Needless to say I will not be doing business with them again.

I left my car for routine maintenance on my 1993 Toyota Camry. When I picked up my car the right front headlight was out. The new headlight was $32. They told me the water pump was leaking and the timing belt was "hitting the cover" and the cost would be $560. They also said the drive axle boots - cover joint - need to be rebuilt and repacked for another $520. I declined the services and brought the car to a local repairman. He said the axle boots are fine. He replaced the timing belt and the water pump with Toyota parts and gave me a 6 month warranty for $400 + tax. He also changed the thermostat while he was in there. He said the axles are fine. One was shiny, like it had been wiped off. That was the last time I went to the dealer for service on my car, which had about 55,000 miles on it at the time. The Toyota service person scared me about using the car without fixing it. I considered buying a new car rather than spending that much money on repairs. I went into the sales area. The salesman took the car to estimate the trade-in value and told me the car was so dangerous that he wouldn't let his daughter drive it around the block! I sold it in 2009 with 106,000 miles on it. I never did need to replace the axle boots.

This is a review of The Auto Body Shop at Caldwell Toyota. Without reservation, the best auto service experience I have ever had, and I've had (excellent service before). Beginning with my initial call for information, just an overall outstanding experience. The only issue is, these folks are so great, they stay busy, so you may have to call back a couple of times, leave a couple of messages, etc. Never mind, keep calling - TOTALLY WORTH IT. Not only did they do great work, but they are happy, friendly people. Even the receptionist is delightful - they treat each other, and you, like family. Also, saved me a pile of money by suggesting less expensive alternatives to the service I initially requested. If they are available, I will not ever take my car anywhere else for service. Bonus: They love dogs - so if yours are well behaved, bring them along if you plan to wait while your car is serviced. I have 2 small dogs that I happened to take with me to the body shop. I thought they would stay in their case while I waited for my car to be finished, but they wriggled out at the first opportunity. When the manager of the body shop found out that I had dogs with me, all the guys from the shop came up to the office in turns to play with them! The receptionist fed them doggie treats from her purse, and everyone shared pictures of their pets and told stories while I waited for the job to be completed. So on top of everything else, it turned out to be alot of fun as well. A++++
