We had an issue with Sheetrock falling and he repaired and painted that, and he put up wainscoting to my stairway going up to three rooms and patched some areas that needed to be patched. I would tell anyone to avoid him at all cost. He did bait and switch. He asked me to pick paint, which I did. I picked the paint that I use consistently because I like the quality. He had the colors matched and it was not until the first day that I realized that he was using a poor quality paint; it does not wash. I have used other paints for years and never had a problem. The original deal was that he was going to replace the Sheetrock that needed to be replaced, and in fact, he did not do that and he patched it. The wainscoting; he did a beautiful job and the woodwork part was absolutely beautiful. He did a wonderful job there. When he painted with this paint, he told me that the room was finished and he would come back the next day to complete the next room. I walked into the room and there were areas where there was either no paint or the old paint was visible, and he did not see it. I brought him and I made him look at it, and I said I want two coats on everything and that was a battle. You can still see areas where he painted, but because of the way he patched, you can actually see where the areas are patched. His quality was very poor. He was not professional because the area that I live in, everybody seems to know everybody and he did come in really as a professional, as somebody who would normally go and visit their neighbors; he looked familiar, but what he did do, which I found very unprofessional. When we initially talked to him, we talked to him about putting a roof over our deck, and of course, based on our experience, we did not do that through him and we had someone else come in and to that, and he actually stopped one of my family members and made a comment about the fact that if I did not like the quality of his work, why did not I suggest tell him instead of telling him we did not have the money do it. He is something. He also left in the middle of the job to do an emergency trip down to Tennessee for some issues that he had going on there, and so left it that way for about two weeks. At that point, I just wanted him to finish and get it over with, so we could repair the damages, but I do not know if that is a norm for him or if he truly had an emergency; I know emergencies do happen. Given the overall experience, if he had messed up with the woodwork, I would have given him an F, so I have to give him a D because his woodworking talent is apparently very good. He matched my staying beautifully and I do not have a complaint with that. He did a good job with the wood work, but the rest of it, as far as anything else, he did a very poor job. Regarding his punctuality, God only knows as you never know when he was going to show up. I would not use him again in the future.
