Company came to my home 10 days ago. I had requested a certification  that my AC is working, which I need it for the sale of my home. The repair person came 10 days ago but advised me that the written certification would need to come from the office. I called the office over 10 days ago and they assured me that they would email me the certification that day. I have since called the office seven times over the past 10 days  and still do not have the written certification. This morning they advised me that it will be emailed to me no later than 11 AM. It is now 2 PM and I still don't have Sit. This company is totally nonresponsive and their staff are certainly not very customer oriented. I will never use this company again and I certainly will never recommend it to anyone.

NO complaints whatsoever. Work was quick, very well done and cleaned completely up after themselves. I can't argue the price too much as we were in a jam right after a cold wave. I did look the prices up and it seems reasonable considering what was done, when it was done and how well it was all done.



7/5/2015 -- Well I just discovered that I hadn't posted this review. All the equipment is running as advertised and saving a bit of money month to month as well as compared to the last system. Again thank you!!!

The repairman was excellent.  He not only located the problem and fixed it but he described in detail what happened.  And then he went beyond what was expected and showed me how to better take care of my gas boiler.  Great experience.

I contacted T.J. Eckardt about replacing my home's furnace and central air conditioner as I could tell the units I had were probably not going to last much longer (and I was right - the old central air was having trouble keeping up when the temperatures first went into the 90's this summer). They were prompt about coming out to look at my current setup and in delivering the promised estimate. One thing I liked about this part of the process was that they were not high-pressure - I had time to get another estimate from another contractor as well as ask some questions about the units they were going to install without being nagged by anyone. The other nice thing was that they did not ask for a deposit as one of the other contractors did.

The installation process went smoothly. They had two guys here working on it over a span of two days. I was worried that I'd be without air conditioning for one night when they wrapped things up the first day, but they did the installation in such a way that the AC was up & running so I was able to sleep that night. They did the furnace gas & exhaust hookups and the humidifier stuff on the second day. I assume they would have reversed the process if I had done this during the heating season instead. There were no problems getting everything passed by the plumbing & electrical inspectors in my Township who said everything looked clean. And the cooling system has been running well for a month now (too soon for me to comment on the furnace since it's August when I'm writing this).

I only have minor complaints which is why I gave them a "B" for professionalism instead of an "A" like I did everywhere else. First, I think communications could have been better. I had no idea they were going to apply for a permit at my township (I didn't think it was necessary since it was a replacement of an existing system, not something for an addition or an outbuilding). Also didn't know they were going to replace the circuit breaker for the system in my electrical panel.

The other thing I wasn't happy about was that they showed up 30 minutes earlier than they said on both days. This isn't such a bad thing at any other time of day than 7:30 am when somebody is impatiently banging on the door while you're trying to get dressed!

These minor issues aside, I would still hire them again. Just be prepared for the possibility of them showing up quite earlier than they say.

Update: Now that the heating season is here, I have two things to report.

First: Furnace works great. It's 16 degrees outside as I'm writing this, and I'm quite comfortable. The air coming out of the registers even feels warmer than it did with the old furnace.

Second: They screwed up the humidifer's electrical connections so it didn't work when I first tried to turn it one (it blew out a transformer that had to be replaced). They did send out a technician within two days to look at it, and he corrected the problem (free of charge, of course). The reason I didn't change my grades is that the repair technician did a thorough check-out of everything else while he was here to fix the humidifier to make sure everything else appeared to be in order in which it was. I appreciated that and gave the guy a tip for it. So it was nice to see that they didn't take shortcuts or try to rush a warranty repair job.

They are dependable and nice. I called them up and I got them before the office was open and I left a call for help. Then I called back again right after the office opened and explained my problem. They responded with the next open slot. The technician came out and took care of my problem.

The repair man that came out was on time and polite and professional.   The problem was with the price of the part.   First  we have a Rheem rgra furnace. The part that they installed was a honeywell gas valve # VR8345m. which is the generic gas valve that is used  as a replacement for several heaters/furnaces brands. the part is listed retail from as low as $97.00.(ninety seven)  to as high as $160.00.(one hundred and sixty).  They charged me($258.25 + $18.06 tax) $276.31. labor was $155.00 grand total $431.31 . I call  TJ Eckardt spoke with receptionist who stated she could not make any adjustments, she would have to talk with owner who was not available. I said ok . Again I expressed my shock at the markup of the price of the part. She stated to me that there is always a markup. And I said I know they get them at wholesale. But when the price I had been charged was 200 to 300 percent more than the retail price. it took approx. 1/2 hour for the diagnostic ( we had already done all the trouble shooting and explained that the system was working but burner would not light. starter & igniters were fine. We explained that maybe fuel was not getting thru so we did not want to do that our-self.)     So we paid the price.!
    The receptionist stated she would get back to me. As of today I have not heard back from them. I gave a D for professionalism because the company never got back to me.

They come out twice a year and they have been doing it for years now. The unit still runs so I guess they are doing a good job. They charge $85 with tax. They charge me a special for $79 because I am regular customer. They always come on time and they are very efficient. They do a good job and they do not charge or do things that are not needed. They are very accurate and thorough.

 His crew arrived on time the day promised and the job was complete in two days as scheduled. The equipment was installed very professionally and the job site was swept clean. Harry and his crew were very pleasant, I enjoyed shooting the breeze at times with them.
