Mike actually came to look at the roof in 2012 and provided me with the most competitive estimate back then.  We chose not to do the roof and waited one year.  So I emailed Mike my old quoted and he honored the price.  We were delayed a few days due to some rain but once we had two clear days, his crew came in and ripped the roof off all the way down to the rafters, applied new plywood, shingles and gutters.  Further, he also replaced two skylights and the power exhaust fan.  In total, the job took two days.  his crew cleaned up and left no trace of debris.  Job well done and I highly recommend his company for your roof work.

Very professional and experience crew performed the work.  It was a well-oiled production with each man knowing what to do and doing it. I would highly recommend the company and would do business with them again.

I emailed American Roofing back in February and received a quick response back from Mike the owner of American. I was given an estimate for a replacement of my house and garage roof. I was asked when I needed my work done and ended up scheduling for an installation for sometime in April. I was very satisfied with the quality of the work, I have two bay windows that were re-roofed making them look better than before. When i got home from work that day the roof and garage were completely done and the surrounding areas were left as clean as they were before the work was done. Later in the day of the installation, Mike called me to ask if I was happy with everything and if I thought the work went  as well as expected. If I had any questions about the installation Mike was more than happy to answer.

Received e-mail, sent phone number to Mike, proposed appointment date but but came and never followed up.

Called and emailed with Mike and he came out when I wasn't home and got back to me with a very fair quote to do a new roof and gutters.  Set up the appointment and his crew and foreman? (Peter) came out on time and completed the job in basically half a day. Everyone was professional, set up and clean up was good.  I emailed Mike the day before to ask how much extra to fix a piece of siding on a dormer that blew off from the past storm, install a chimney cap and gable vent - told me don't worry about it, he'd do it no extra charge.  Gutter guys couldn't make it the same day, but they were there the next morning and banged out the new gutters in just a couple of hours.  Def. good customer service, would highly recommend.

Mike was one of four contractors we had come by to give us a price. His punctuality, experience and very pleasant demeanor impressed us. He was more then happy to answer all of the questions we had, as well as offer helpful suggestions.
It took approximately 4 days to complete all the work. His crew did a great job in terms of working very efficiently and making sure all areas of work were done correctly. Mike was in and out during the job, but was in touch with me constantly while they were working to keep me abreast of their progress. The job was completed on time and within budget.
As it was a full tear-off, there was quite a lot of debris in the yard. Most of it was cleaned up, however there is still some remaining pieces of roof shingles and vinyl covering. 
All in all, Mike was a great person to work with. I would recommend him highly based on the quality of his workmanship and his attention to taking care of all of our needs. 

We noticed some water that leaked into the attic and a bedroom. We selected American Roofing based on Angie's list recommendations. They came promptly, even though they were extremely busy still replacing roofs from hurricane Sandy. The repairs were completed in about 30 minutes, and the cost was exactly what was proposed. They were very professional.

Michael estimated the job in early January, once I got approval form my insurance company. I got three estimates that were all pretty similar, but I felt the most assured of American Roofing after meeting with Michael. Once weather permitted, Michael and his team were out and completed the job in less than a day. They arrived after I left for work, and were done before I arrived home. Clean, efficient, and professional. Honored the original estimate. Superb work all around. Never would have known they were ever there, if it weren't for my beautiful new roof. There is no better feeling of security than to go through a rain/snow storm and not to have to worry about leaks. Would definitely recommend American Roofing.

I called them on 3/20/13 left a message with my information and address and was informed that someone would be calling me back to setup an appointment.
On 3/21/13 at approx 8pm I recieved a voicemail "Sorry we do not service your area." I'm located in Bergen County, NJ and they are literally located 30mins (next county over) from me.
Thats fine if you "dont service my area" but then why not inform your employees of that??? Instead of wasting everyones time. 
I did provide my address to her so wouldnt it make sense that she would know that I'm located in an area "you dont service"?

I called and a woman took my information but he never called back.  I believe when a person identifies themselves as a member of Angie's List and reports that they found a vendor on the list, common courtesy requires a response.  If the job is too small just say so.

The owner of the company promptly responded to my request for an estimate.  During every step of the process he answered ALL of my questions.  He worked with me to determine the best date to have the work done.  He did a great job managing the process and was able to  have the entire roof replacement done in one day.  His company did an excellent job including protecting the property while the work was being done and cleaning up afterwards.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have their roof done.

Of the businesses that I contacted to provide an estimate on replacing my roof, American Roofing was by far the best. Mike returned my emails promptly, and someone was sent out to my house within the following days to provide a written estimate, as well as provide samples of shingles. I also received a follow-up phone call from the gentleman that came to do the estimate, as I was not home at the time the estimate was performed.  I received an email detailing all the work which would be performed. All of my questions were answered promptly. After I agreed to have the work performed, I was told that I would be contacted when all permits from the town were in order. My only comment is that I had to get back in touch several weeks later to see if permits were obtained, and when the work would be starting. After that it was fine. Mike contacted me to let me know they would start the work on the next "good" weather day. He called two days in a row when the weather was inclement(wind) to say they would not be coming. He called me on the morning they would start. Workers arrived promptly. Foreman was extremely professional and pleasant. They covered the neighbor's windows with plywood so as not to damage any of their property. Roof was completed in one day. Clean up was  great. Owner Mike also came by to check in and make sure all was running smoothly. Additionally, he called me that evening (Friday) to see if I was satisfied and let me know that the gutter work would be done the next day, which it was. All in all, smooth and pleasant experience with American Roofing. I would use this company again.

The company gave us an accurate estimate and walked us through the work they would have to do and the different types of shingles we could choose from.  They were responsive and finished the work in a timely manner.  They came back to address all of our concerns and answer our questions.  The roof has remained fully intact through hurricanes, high winds, and snow storms.  We recently emailed them to examine the roof given the recent weather and they came next day to do an inspection for free.  Everything was fine and they were very helpful again in answering our questions.  Overall we have been very pleased while working with them.

Lousy

The work that was done was fine and it was done promptly and I believe their price was actually fair. We tried to get in touch with him for other things and he never called us back and it was actually frustrating. So far the quality of everything has been great, but since he didn't get back to us I don't think I would try to continue to try to reach out to him.

Overall, I could not obtain an estimate because the company's rep/owner informed me that they were not available.

They were very punctual and professional. They didn't try to 'upsell' me on any services I didn't need.   All in all a wonderful experience working with this company.

Where to begin?  I know - Tropical Storm Sandy.   Although it was primarily a wind event in my area (and didn't affect my neighbors on the left or right) it took its wrath out on my house!   Numerous tiles littered the yard and an entire section of roof was missing.   So, I called the insurance and used Angie's list to find a reliable roofer as quickly as possible.
Mike DeRossa (American Roofing & Siding) responded quickly.  He arrived on the scene (with a small crew) to apply a Tarp to the damaged area in order to prevent further damage while we awaited the Insurance estimates.  He also began work on his own estimate to perform the repair.  But (as luck would have it) I rec'd both estimates at the same time.  And (as fate would have it...) they were miles apart.   The insurance estimate failed to account for several significant problems that needed to be addressed.  
Analysis:  Although I was willing (but not ecstatic) about paying the difference in cost,  Mike (the contractor) offered to talk to the insurance company on my behalf.  And (to my surprise ...) they agreed to discuss the details with the contractor.
End Result:  The Insurance company agreed with this contractor that the entire roof needed to be replaced.  And, they even sent me a supplemental check to cover the remaining balance!  Way to go Mike!
Bottom Line:   The work was done in a single day.   They arrived at my house (after I left for work) and completed the job before I returned home.   All debris (and there was a lot of it according to the pictures and my family) was completely removed by the end of the day.  I now have a new roof that will probably last me 50 years!  I would definitely use this company again!  Perhaps to replace a deck next time!

From the beginning to end this was a good an experience as we could have had especially considering we didn't know how much structural damage their would be or how to deal with the insurance company.  In all respects, Mike's experience, flexibility and responsibility made this job easier than we imagined.

You don't find companies like this very often anymore. What a pleasure
to deal with! Michael came immediately after we called to give us an
estimate...then kept in contact through emails and phone calls for any
questions or concerns we had. Really wanted our business, where other
estimates we received were not interested whether we were going to hire
them or not. Price was reasonable and they even gave us an angies list
coupon. Work was done quickly--4 hours for our entire roof--then the
next day, less than 2 hours for gutters. Very professional! Mike even
asked how we liked the roof. SO accommodating too! They didn't want us
to pay until after all work was complete and we were satisfied! This is
so rare nowadays! We were so impressed. He even sent a Thank You card,
thanking us for our business! Highly recommend! We will probably use
them again for siding.
