Our roof was leaking badly last Thanksgiving 2013, after we bought house.  Michael's crew came that weekend did emergency repair that weekend, then came back and recovered whole roof in less than one day. Reasonable price and very fast service.
After roof was done, Owner called and emailed several times after it rained to be sure that new roof was adequate and keeping us dry.  I would definitely use American Roofing again.

They were great and professional. They are a little hard to get a hold of but once I we do, the work and price is good.

I called on Monday, to schedule the estimate. The woman who answered didn't sound like she knew what she was doing. Though she told me that "he" would call me no later than that evening. I didn't get a call till the next day. I scheduled an estimate for Thursday. They were flexible, and the did show up on time for the estimate. My wife was home for the estimate, and she said the person seemed to know what he was doing, and said he couldn't give us an estimate there, but would call in a few hours. *Never received a call.* Instead, we got a letter today in the mail, which was the estimate. Not only that, but it wasn't what I asked for, but rather 6" gutters for everything.
They seem nice, and maybe they do good work, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone as they don't seem professional enough to do the simplest thing.

Left a message regarding a job. Nobody returned my call.

The work went phenomenal I could not make more positive comments, Professional , meticulous. To the owner, foreman, and workers. They were absolute professional and their work was impeccable. They went above and beyond the call of duty through out the entire job. He made himself available and above and beyond more than once.

Job fairly well done, the only thing not done was the ice shield on the edge of the roof as detailed in job description.  Ice shield was done after it was brought to their attention, but then it was not placed behind the gutters as it's supposed to be done. Contractor responsive to making good on what was contracted for.  Recommend that if you know what is supposed to be done, someone be home when the job is being done to make sure gutters are placed as aesthetically pleasing as possible, as long as, they can still properly work and just for overall oversight.
 Overall this was a good experience.  Further recommended contractor to friends who contracted American as well.

Mike is a true professional. He's clearly great at what he does and understands what quality means both in terms of product and customer service. Getting Mike booked was a little tough -- he's busy -- though I can see why. So that's probably what some of the lousier reviews are about. Scheduling him to actually do the work took a few months of emails back and forth. He's great, though, and his crew was thorough and meticulous about tending to both the job and cleanup. I'm so glad we waited and didn't go with anyone else.

Mike, the owner, was wonderful!  My roof was not easy to replace (steep and high).  Mike had the best price and he and his crew were professional and quick!  You can rely on Mike's integrity and honesty.  Part of the job was installing new gutters and leaders and I asked Mike if he could wait for that part until the house was painted, and he did.  I really appreciated that because he had to split his schedule up to accommodate me and come back to the house two times and he did it without thinking twice!  Please contact Mike before anyone else if you need work done at your house. You will not be disappointed.

Overall, we are pleased with our new roof.  Once they came, they were very quick in doing the work, and seemed to do a good job.  The roof looks good.  I did not give higher ratings because I felt there were time lags throughout the process.  I got a quote quickly enough, but then it took quite awhile to actually speak to Mike over the phone -- I never did meet him!  We got our quote in June, but the work was not completed until the end of August, because they were busy and delayed our start date a couple of times.  Mind you, this does not seem to be unusual when doing any sort of home improvement, at least as far as I can tell from talking to my friends, but it is still frustrating at the time.  
When I did speak with Mike, I always found him friendly and professional.  
Our biggest complaint about the actual work was that after they did the roof, my husband found lots and lots of nails left in our yard, and had to call them to come back and clean them up.  They did then return promptly to clean them up, but they should have done a better job the first time.

Please understand, my rating of an "F" is strictly for professionalism purposes only.  Here is why I feel this company is very unprofessional:
I contacted this company on 9/9 as I had a small leak in my roof that occurred a few days before.  I left all my information with the messaging service and was told I would receive a call from the owner of the company to schedule to have someone come out and look at my roof. 
What I did receive was an email a few days later from the owner, Mike.  The email read "Thanks for your request.  I'm sorry we are really backed up with roof work.  I can't help you at this moment.  Thanks...Mike"
Now as a customer....wait....a Paying Customer, if you're in the business to provide a service, then you should not be telling customers you are backed up with work and cannot help them and certainly not via email.  I deserved a phone call and again, if business is that great for you, that's great!  You must be doing something right.  As someone who has studied Business and Marketing, you never say you cannot help someone.  If in fact you are that busy, I am willing to wait until a spot opens up so that I can have my work done.  I was not even given that option as you already dismissed me as a customer. 
As a word of advice, this is a very bad way to conduct business.  While you may look at me as a small amount of revenue for a minor rook leak that you can make up with some other repairs on someone else's house, you lost the option of any future business I will have, which we all know eventually, you'll need a new roof put on a house and anyone else that I recommend not using your company. 

Mike and his team did an excellent job with our roof and gutters.  We had box gutters on our 93 yo house that were falling apart and causing damage to the facia boards.  Mike came in, assessed the situation, and suggested a plan to replace them with aluminum gutters.  We decided to re-roof at the same time since we were about due.  Mike's team completed the project in 3 days.  The work was solid and the team professional.  I would use them again, and I have already suggested American Roofing to a few neighbors who admired their work.

I found this vendor on Angie's List.  They are outstanding.  Very responsive, sent someone to check what was needed.  They did an excellent job, cleaned up all trash, even little cut pieces, and removed it.  The owner is very responsible, very nice, and very responsive.  I am planning on using them again in the spring to have a rolled roof replaced as well as an additional solar fan installed.  You will be very pleased using this provider.

We suffered damages from Hurricane Sandy.  American Roofing and Siding did a superb job in tearing down the old roof and cleaned up the debris as much as possible.  The attic was is good shape and not too much for me to clean up.  The new roof and plywood looks terrific. 
The new siding looks great and the crew took great care in making sure seams were minimal and trims were placed properly.  We are very satisfied with the workmanship.  Mike's crew were professional and cleaned up after themselves everyday.  There were a few nails here and there but one can't expect everything to be found.
Mike the owner was very responsive to us and worked with us very well.  He explained things in plain language and did not ever make us feel rushed.  He even took care of something that the crew did above and beyond the scope of work. 
This review is long overdue but for sure we would use Mike and American Roofing again.

The job went extremely well.  Mike DeRosa came shortly after I called for an estimate.  He answered all questions I had and was very good at communicating with me during the time leading up to the job as well as during the job.  Any time I called or emailed him,
he contacted me in less than twenty-four hours.  A crew of 8 or 9 men arrived on time the day the job was to start.  They worked very
hard.  Mike checked on the job several times a day and had his representative, Paul, on the job each day.  If I needed anything or had
questions, Paul was very helpful.  The job was done in three days.  The job site was left clean, neat and free of all debris.  Also, during the job, it was noted that my chimney was in terrible shape.  Mike referred me to a chimney contractor who came, gave me a
price and replaced the chimney at the same time the roof was being done.  A job I had dreaded turned out to be quickly done.  The quality of the new roof is excellent.  I couldn't have asked for more.

American Roofing responded only to inform me that they had too much work and referred me to another firm who never followed up after I contacted them.

Excellent job.  Good professional quality work at a good price. 
The process was very professional from the quotation to the contract details to the job being done timely and professionally.  I received quite a few estimates and American Roofers by far gave me the best impression right off the bat.  Mike, was very courteous and professional and upfront with the cost and service.  I didn't get any fancy sales pitches like "..if you sign now we'll give you a discount, otherwise.... you know... how everything goes up....."  Also after the work began, I didnt get hit with anything unexpected.  My one neighbor afterwards remarked that this was a good company and he's been living there for 40 yrs.  Another elderly neighbor who's retired and has plenty of time on his hands, basically watched the entire work being done, he told me.  He said, "they did good work, put up the ice shields, etc., didn't take any shortcuts from what he observed." 
Also I saw their work around the town and from what I can tell, they do a good job.

I called Monday early in the morning and left my name with the receptionist. I was told that the owner would call me back since he was away on a job. Around noon, I called back to see when I could expect to hear from the owner and was told that I should expect a call within a couple of hours. It's now Friday and still haven't received a call. I have since hired another company in the interim.

We had a great experience with American Roofing.  After Hurricane Sandy, we lost a number of shingles and had pretty extensive roof damage on both our house roof and our garage.   Mike came out to look at the roof back in February and gave us a very reasonable estimate - in fact, he came out the same day we called to take a look.  Since the roof was pretty old anyway, we decided to replace it entirely, have an attic fan installed, and get gutter guards so we won't have to have them cleaned.  It took a while for Mike's team to get to us, but I attribute that to all the rainy weather we have been having, and I appreciate that Mike wanted to make sure we wouldn't get any leaks while there was only plywood up on the roof.  Also, Mike was responsive to my calls/emails and kept me in the loop about any weather-related delays.  Installation only took two days and Mike and his team were fast, efficient, friendly and removed all the roof debris from our yard when they left - except for the gorgeous new roof, it looks like they were never there!  They did a great job and I would definitely use them again if the need ever arises.

The quote amount was $10985.  The skylight was another $325.  They were mentioning about the gutters but we didn’t go that route.  The quote was a little higher than we had wanted.  They never mentioned about the chimney having the damage.  We had another company that went up there with their camera phone.  They took a picture to show us how the piece of the metal in the chimney was a mess and had to be repaired.  We liked that idea.  Our experience with them was good overall but the other company came back with a better quote.  Actually American Roofing’s quote came with a 10% discount but we don’t know why.  They were good and we had no problem with them.

The entire process began in Oct. 2012 after Sandy.  We called our insurance co. and they sent a rep. within a couple of days.  We got estimates from contractors on your list.  This part took about 3 weeks.  We got all the estimates before the end of November and our insurance co. thought that American Roofing was the most logical choice.  We signed a contract and then waited.  No response from the contractors so I called.  After the third call the owner of the company called saying that there was a death in the family and he was away for a while.  He then promised that when the  weather broke he would call to make an appointment.  No response for another month.  At the end of March I emailed the contractor to inform him that I was looking for another contractor to do the job since I was tired of waiting for him.  The owner then showed up and was so nice that I decided I would allow him to do the job.  By the way, there was still no credible excuse for the delay.  By the middle of April we had a date and within a couple of days the job was complete to my satisfaction.  I still don't understand the delay of services but the owner was so easy to deal with and flexible concerning payment that I could not help liking him.
