C&C came out for to do an estimate for the ductwork. From the start the Rep said I should replace my furnace, A/C coil and water heater. I explained to him this equipment is working just fine and just want my ductwork done. He continued to hard sell me on different furnace and A/C options. He tried to find out what my budget is and what other companies quotes were. He really didn't ask any questions on the work I needed done. I felt he would sell me anything without real concern if those products are right for my house or not.

They were very good. The price was good. They put in two furnaces and one air conditioning. They were all very attentive, showed up on time and did everything within a day and a half. The tech who came out misdiagnosed the issue resulting in additional delays in getting the problem fixed. When we called him back to fix the issue he had a bad attitude and seemed annoyed the whole time. We then were told that the part we needed would be ordered immediately after our appointment. We were called more than a week later to ask if we still wanted them to order the part we thought had already been ordered.

C&C from the rep who came out and did the estimate to the techs who came in and did the replacement and installation were professional in every respect. The job was done within the time frame specified and at the estimated price. Not only would I recommend them, I had them replace the furnace in my mother's house a month after they completed the install at my home.

The installers who came were very professional and very friendly. Not only did they let me watch, but they also let me help just a bit (turn on/off the faucets in the kitchen and bathroom, mop up some of the gunk on the floor after the old heater was removed, help getting the new heater into the tight quarters). When they left, the place was cleaner than when they got there. I have never been dissatisfied with the service from C&C over the many years we have been having them install and service our equipment.

After the problem with the new system they send out an excellent tech named Jason. He looked for a leak and finally put dye in the system and got it working. Returned week and a half later to followup and found that the new coil was fault and needed replacement. After scheduling Jason to return to find the leak using the UV light, they had a different tech scheduled. I insisted on Jason and was glad I did. the replacement is scheduled and w ill be an aluminum coil that Lennox switched to due to many problems with copper coils and new refrigerant . will report after the installation.

All right overall. Sales and installations had big mistakes but the follow up service has been excellent to compensate for those issues. The sales guy could have been more careful and given better technical advice. I ordered 2 XC 16 units thinking that I was going to get 16 seer efficiency. The sales guys did not tell me I would only get 14 seer. Only saw that on the J load calculations after payment. Had I known that earlier, I would have just got an XC 14 because with the XC 16 we had to oversize to 4 ton as XC 16 does not come in a 3.5 ton. Secondly the sales guy should have known that the XC 16 and iComfort thermostat combo does not play well with non lennox furnaces because it requires an EIM (think of it as a controller adaptor) and more complex 2 stage wiring with the blower. The installers made a big mistake wiring the 2 stage XC 16 compressor to the EIM and the furnace blower. The first stage of the compressor was incorrectly wired to the high speed of the blower causing the AC to basically not cool for the first 20 minutes and instead just waste electricity and worse throw in so much wet air that I was having humidity levels rise to 65% when the AC was in first stage. That caused the 2nd stage to work harder and eat more electricity. The house was very uncomfortable and after a few weeks I realized that the AC stage 1 was causing high humidity issues. I was very disappointed by C&C at that point. Then came the turning point. A gentleman named Ron Rankel from C&C. The most technical HVAC person I have seen in the area. After an SOS call I made to him regarding the issues I had been having with the new AC, he quickly came in and recognized that the AC stage 1 was not not wired properly to a lower speed of the furnace blower. He spent 6 hours at my house making sure that the wiring was fixed and the humidity issues were completely resolved before he went back home. In conclusion, with the misleading sale of XC 16, I probably spent around $2K more than if I had gone with the XC 14/13 which would have been better for me. However, C&C made it somewhat fair by installing a new supply for me for free(about $300 value). The XC 16 also is oversized than what I needed (because it does not come in 1/2 ton increments) so I don't think I am getting much energy savings either. Being a little oversized, the upstairs unit seems to run only for short period of times under average temperatures, hopefully that will not reduce its life in the long run as the labor warranty is only 1 yr. Short cycling will be a worrying factor for me for the years to come. Overall I am still giving the install an A rating largely due to the excellent follow up service offered to me by Ron and his team. To be fair, the installers did an much above than average job with the extra drain overflow hookup and flue hookup but made 1 big mistake with wiring that messed up my experience. Had the sales person been more honest up front and had the installers not made the wiring mistake, it would have been a 5 star install. Ron not just saved C&Cs the day for C&C but actually built their reputation up. I am now happy enough with him that I might get a water heater installed by these guys and have given a recommendation for an AC install at one of my friends... For those of you ordering an AC make sure you ask the installers to measure the air flow across the evaporator coil after the install for all stages of the compressor to make sure it is unto the spec mentioned in the installation manual. That can be a big deal!

I will never use them again. I got a very efficient A/C and heating unit. It was Lennox. At the time Lennox was giving $750 for both units because they were so efficient. The electric and gas company in New Jersey was also giving me $750 for going with them. So we're talking $1500. Before the job, I had to sign papers saying, "Do I want the rebate to go to them or me?" If they go to me, then I had to pay the full price, which was about $5000. I had the $5000. So I figured, "You know what, I'll pay for the whole job. Let them come to me." You had to sign this form, so I signed it. I've got two families here, I've got a mother, daughter and my parents are in the upstairs apartment. The problem was, there was a 10°-15° difference. If it was 70 down here, it was 80 up there. So they had a return line to take the hot air out. The guy who was doing it, assured me that it was going to do it - if it's 70 here, it will be 70 there. He did the job and I turned it on, there was a 5° difference. We had it in writing that it would be the same. So he said I know what to do, "We're going to run a supply line to your parent's apartment and that's going to do it," and it did it. So now, when I give him the $5000, after the job, he says to me the owner wants $500 for adding the new supply and that wasn't part of the deal. So I say, "What do you mean?  It's in writing. The temperature was supposed to be the same in both apartments." He goes, "Yeah, but what can I tell you?' I say, "Listen, you've got to get the $5000. You tell him to call me. Maybe we could talk, negotiate, whatever, compromise." He never called me. Six months later, my wife said, "Well, aren't we supposed to get a rebate of $1500?" I forgot all about it. I said, "Yeah." I called Lennox and I called the electric company and I called the gas company and they said I signed the paper that said it goes to him. So this $1500 that I was supposed to get back went to him. I say, "That can't be. I signed a form. I've got a copy in front of me," and he goes, "Sir, your name is James Davis." I said, "No, my name is Jamie Davi." I say, "Could you fax them to me?" He faxed them and they were out and out forgeries. I called the Middletown Police Department. I say, "Well, what are you going to do?" He says, "Well, if you bring his ID with your signature, we're going to padlock his business and we're going to arrest him for that $1500. Do you think you might want to call him first?" So I called them. I say, "I'm supposed to get the rebates. Why did you get them?" He says, "Remember the $500 you didn't pay me?" I say, "Yes. We had a difference of opinion, right?" He says, "Well, I took it from that." I say, "No, you took $1500." He says, "Well, I did it to teach you a lesson." I say, "Oh, that's great. I just spoke to officer Donaldson and he is coming to lock you up and padlock your business. So how do you like that? You want a lesson?" I heard silence. He says, "What do you want to do about this?" I say, "Well, now you want to talk nice. I could have got the whole $5000 back, but then I would be no better. Listen, just bring in my $1500 in cash. I won't call the cops. I would love to have you arrested, but I like all your workers. I don't want to put them out of business." I moved here and I asked a lot of people and they said they are the worst. The one worker was a young guy. He was a great guy. I heard he passed away. He was a good man, an honest guy. I really liked him. The workmanship was great.

I had Brian come out to give me an estimate for a Lennox garage heater. While he was here, I told him about a problem I had with my home furnace.
The techs came out to install my garage heater. These guys were great. The installation is neat looking, they cleaned up everything, and even put up with all my questions.
Where C & C  won me over as a new customer, was when Brian showed up at 5pm to look at my furnace, which was installed in my new home by another Co. who came back 3 times and couldn't get it to operate correctly.
He stayed until 7pm chasing down the problem and finally fixed it No Charge.
As far was I'm concerned I don't have to look any further for my HVAC needs.

I found C&C to be very responsive and efficient. I look forward to receiving their additional estimate on replacing my damaged HVAC unit. I will say that I was surprised by their level of service- they actually charged me less than the current coupon on Angies List as they were working on a local promotion.. This ended up with my service bill coming to $79 versus $125.

Within two weeks of moving into our new home, the existing furnace stopped. It being February and in the midst of a cold spell, we had kind of an emergency situation. After reviewing Angie's List for recs, I called C & C and was greeted quickly and pleasantly by a young woman, who set us up with a same-day appointment with one of the sales guys, Paul. Paul arrived on time that afternoon, he was careful about wearing shoe protectors to avoid getting dirt on the floor, and he interacted with me in a very pleasant and professional way. He handled all the relevant paperwork (NJ energy rebate forms, permits etc.) and answered all my questions. To my delight, Paul scheduled us for installation of the new furnace the next morning at 8 am. The installers, Nick and Ray, arrived right on time. They were excellent: efficient, respectful, friendly and professional. They worked very hard non-stop from 8 am to 1 pm and had an extremely positive, helpful and kindly way of interacting with me. This made the experience relaxing and enjoyable for us as customers. They explained the basics of the machine to me, and advised me on basic maintenance procedures. We've had the furnace for six days now, and it works very well. It's a Lennox 96% efficiency, two-stage, variable unit with a remote control iComfort panel (I like this a lot; it's fun to use off my iPhone or computer). Based on their performance so far,  I intend to have C & C come out once a year for the annual maintenance, which will also guarantee us free labor on any service issues for the next ten years. If their maintenance service is as good as their installation, I'll consider all this a definitely good deal.

Today's visit was actually free but I listed the cost of the Heating & AC contract which was paid on a previous visit.  A few weeks ago our heat went in the middle of the night during an extreme cold spell.  We left a message at about 2AM and they were here by 9.  The problem was fixed for a reasonable price, and we decided to get a service contract with them.  Today the service provider arrived promptly, as scheduled.  He was polite and efficient, as was the previous workman and told us that everything seemed to be working quite efficiently for an old unit (he replaced a small part which could have caused a problem).  Unlike a previous well known local contractor he did not try to convince us that we should buy a new system.  I would highly recommend C&C.
