system pumped - which the vendor did do. The service was performed
several months ago and from time to time we smell something in the backyard. The weather this winter was very harsh and
thus we were not in our backyard very often due to ice and snow. My husband called and left several messages
over the winter but received no call back.
As the weather has improved recently, we
have been outside more and still have the smell in the area of the lid to the
septic system. After several more attempts to reach Delaware Valley
septic by phone, I finally reached Steve, Jr on April 22nd. He told me
that someone would stop out Thursday April 23rd or Friday April 24th in the
afternoon. He was not able to give a specific date or time. I asked that
they call prior to coming so I could meet with the technician. . I asked to be present so I could ask some
questions or dig off the 2? of dirt that cover the lid, which we had to do for
the original service. I was home
both days, all day and no one came to the house and no one called in advance.
I called again on April 29th and left a
message asking for a return call and an update on when someone could come by to
investigate. On April 30th Debbie called me back, provided no response,
or future date/time that a technician.
I played phone tag with Debbie until May 6th. Each time when leaving my message, I asked
her to provide information when she called back regarding my issue, but each
time there was nothing except her phone number.
On May6th I spoke with Steve Sr., who was
clear to say that I didn?t speak with him earlier and abruptly passed me to
Debbie without so much as a ?hold on please?.
The conversation I had with Debbie was inaccurate, unprofessional and in
my opinion unreasonable. Debbie stated that someone did come to our
house and he (the technician) thought the smell was coming from our neighbor?s
house. A comment so ridiculous based on
the location of the neighbors house and septic that it?s hardly worth repeating
but I guess that?s what her technician told her. I questioned what or how much he ?checked?
because the ground over the lid had not been disturbed. I asked if he knew where the lid was? Was he the same technician that performed the
service? No answers were provided. I was expecting that when the technician
checked that he would actually inspect the opening to the septic tank to see if
the lid was not on correctly.
She said someone was out ?last week? but
she wasn?t sure of the day. For
reference, last week the dates were April 27th ? May 2 the week
after Steve Jr. told me they would stop.
Then she asked me ?well when did we service your house?? This made me realize that she hadn?t really
taken my issue seriously as she didn?t even look up what they did or when the service
had occurred. For the next several
minutes all she did was say it?s not their issue and if I wanted them to come
back I had to pay $275 per hour. I have
to admit that the volume of the conversation was escalating and I told Debbie
that I didn?t call to get into a fight.
I simply wanted them to find out what was wrong and if it was as simple
as securing the lid to fix it.
The simple fact is the backyard didn?t
smell before they came and now it does.
There was no mention of any issues when the technician was here. At the time of service, the technician even
went so far as to say that everything ?looked very good?. I asked him if we should use something like
Rid-ex and he said ?no, keep doing what you are doing, everything here is good?. It has been a few months, but due to the
weather we haven?t been outside. For further clarification, we have had no
other work done, no landscaping, or anything to the area in question.
I would never recommend this vendor to
anyone. They clearly don?t care about
their customers, the level of service that they provide or their
reputation.
They showed up when they said they would, called when they got there, and went to work even though I was not home. The gentleman doing the work was courteous, and professional. I would use them again, and recommend to anyone needing a septic pumped.
