Rohsler's Allendale Nursery & Florist

This place has some nice workers but the owner and the delivery people are looking to nickel and dime you with complete nonsense. They treated me like I was an idiot. I went to the location for a Christmas tree, paid to have it delivered and stood up. paid $275 for this. while in the store I bought the stand for $150 that they told me I needed for the tree. When the delivery people showed up, they told me the stand wouldn’t work for this tree and it would most likely fall and break my windows. but they had another stand for $300 in cash in the truck they can give me. with no other choice I did it. Then I just went back for some more items. Two heavy outdoor planter urns. Owner comes over and looks at the sweet lady who was helping and asks if this was on discount, yes- 25% she responds. He then tells me that the delivery charge for this will be $100 - normally it is $55 but he would need 3 guys to deliver it. when I questioned why 3 guys would be needed- he responded that he didn’t feel comfortable with 2 guys but would be happy to have someone help me put it in my car and have me carry it alone. Not only will I never come back to this place, I will continue to write my experience to try and save anyone time when looking for items. The owner will treat you like an idiot in front of his own staff and walk away when you don’t want to pay his surcharges because he doesn’t want to actually offer a discount. I would avoid this place if you are worried about being treated with respect.

We've never been disappointed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff at Rohsler's or the plants we've purchased from them, and all of the work their landscaping crews have done in our yard has been first rate.
For landscaping work we will generally call them to schedule a time for an estimate.  Someone will then come out to look at the yard, discuss what needs to be done, and prepare the estimate.  Once we receive the estimate and agree to it, a time for a crew to come out and do the work will be scheduled.  I generalize because they have done one job or another in our yard nearly every year since we've bought our house, and the process is always the same.  A few times I've had difficulties contacting someone to schedule the initial estimate, but once that is done they have always showed up when they said they would and performed all of the work exactly as agreed.
Their prices are, frankly, not the cheapest.  But I've come to rely on their advice and expertise, and I don't mind paying a little more for superior quality and service.

I went to Rohsler's and bought a number of plants (12?) and asked them to plant them for me on a hill on the side of my house that has been a weed infested embarrassment for years. I had the weeds cleared and let Rohsler's do their thing. I asked them to use their judgement as to the placement of the plants and if anything I bought wasn't appropriate I asked them to choose a plant or plants that they thought would do well in that area. The fellow I worked with, Matt, took the assignment. I told him that I would not be around and would trust his judgement as to both placement and the plants. He knew what I wanted and said he would work under those parameters.
He came with a crew and did the job beautifully. He really took his time and placed the plants beautifully. I am thrilled with the work that he and his crew did.
I am sure I am not expressing my appreciation properly for the pleasure I have gotten out of the work that Rohsler's, Matt and the crew did. But I assure you, they do great work. It is not cheap, but it is worth it. I am thrilled and would use them again.

Great source for shrubs, plants, etc

Rohsler's is always my and quot;go toand quot; destination for beautiful, healthy plants. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about gardening plants and customer concerns.
A few years ago we had them put in a hemlock tree for us. We had an exceptionally bad winter with drying winds and heavy snow. The tree did not survive. Rohsler replaced the tree, only charging for the actual installation. They recently landscaped our son's front yard and did a great job.
This is one of the only places that I can find Deer Scram. Our home backs up onto woodlands and we have herds of deer. The Deer Scram works for three months between applications so I depend on it, along with Liquid Fence, to stop the deer from eating all of our plants.

They are a little expensive, but I will continue to use them.

I made an appointment to get an estimate for some Landscaping. The person showed up and we spent about 20 minutes going through all the items I was trying to accomplish, there was a fairly large amount of plantings, clean up, mulch, maintenance, etc. I never received the quote for the services even after multiple follow-ups.Just a waste of my time dealing with them.

Do not use the florist at Roshlers! The arrangements use old flowers that are half dead when they arrive. I called them immediately and the woman who runs the florist is rude and defensive. I now use Allendale Florist on Allendale Ave.. They are wonderful!
