Garage Service
$1,000
We utilized Definitive Construction this past winter for our
snow plowing needs. Let me start by saying this was one of the worse companies
of my 10 years as a multiple home owner. First the ?owner? Mr.Crossman came and
staked my yard and my neighbors. I informed Mr.Crossman my neighbor may also
interested in having their yard plowed a month prior to any snow dropping. So
he brought it on himself to just show up and start spiking their yard along
with mine no call or email he just showed up unannounced while we were not home.
Thankfully we have a very nice home surveillance with audio so I was able to
see to see who it was. Well, after my neighbor stated they had someone else he ?randomly?
showed up to take the stakes he put into the ground. This caused a minor confrontation
and most people would have just moved onto another company. I felt I would give
him another chance and so I did. First the problems began when he was not
showing up the agreed 4 inches of more snow. He would show up for small storms
and charge me extra $30 for every time he came out.
It was a long winter so I needed to keep him on. Well, it
became worse when they charged us for a plow job we know he didn?t do. He
stated they came out at 2a.m. to plow and even though the driveway was
untouched and we have multiple nighttime video cameras that showed other wise.
I sent an email to Jason Crossmans wife who is the actual business owner as she
sent me a bill. Well Jason reached out to me VIA phone and he became very infantile
with his behavior acting very odd and guilty. Stating ? I don?t have time for
games. Find someone else? I let the matter go and figured I would need a plow
guy since the winter was so harsh. Then to make matters worse he ?randomly?
showed up again and was putting dirt and salt down on our gravel driveway stating
that ?his truck would get stuck and it?s free or if wanted to pay him $35.00 we
could (which we did, as I would never ?take? something for free).
Now things became MUCH worse because apparently he was
purposefully plowing our neighbor (who we have a long shared driveway with) on
purpose after each plow. After some further investigation apparently he grew up
with my neighbors and didn?t like them. This made it very uneasy on my wife and
I as we wanted no part of his drama. Well, once again they made things WORSE.
We arrived home to find our entire rock walkway and front lawn plowed. I could
not for the life me figure out why they did this. I called Mr.Crossman and he
told me ?his truck? got stuck. I found this impossible as both my car ( a
luxury Infiniti and a Nissan Rogue) had NO issues getting In and out of the 2
inches of snow. This destroyed much of our front lawn and walk area and
Mr.Crossman said he would fix it this spring at no extra charge and that he apologize.
Mind you I kept him on because the snow was impossible this year and to mid-winter
without a plow was just a recipe for disaster. Well, to add more insanity to
the mix we would get snow drifts and I would call Mr.Crossman to come and plow
my driveway as he hadn?t done any clean up. He would come and stated that ? I
need to call sooner? because the snow drifts are so bad he got stuck (once
again our vehicles had no problem going through multiple times). This was frustrating
because we went from him showing up randomly to not showing up to telling us to
call him. I would send text messages with no replies for days along with phone
calls.

Well the end of winter came and our final charges didn?t
until randomly on the start of April (The 6th to be exact) with
INSANE charges! We were billed for normal plowing of $45.00 per plow plus an
additional cost of $60.00 per those plows for ?snow drifts?. We were also
charged for a plow which we told Mr.Crossman not to come out but because he ?lost?
his phone he never got the message. I couldn?t believe the charges and sent an
email to his wife and not a single reply from Mr.Crossman himself. So my wife
and I seeked legal counsel.
Well, after consulting with my lawyer we did not pay the
full amount but those agreed upon minus the charge of what it took to restore
our front lawn (which is struggling to return). I as a side note I did some
further investigation on this company through the NH Business Bureau and they?re
not in good standing. Lesson learned to do some research and no just take a
card off a board from a local Pizza joint and expect decent work. My advice
avoid them and us this website (which I should have done in the first place) to
do some research and hire someone much more qualified.
