BENSON'S LUMBER & HARDWARE INC

I have a large yard with a lot of slopes and Brian in the Derry store really took the time to explain the various options available to me and helped me choice the absolutely right machine. He is extremely knowledgeable and store is always well stocked with everything a homeowner might need.

We bought a 20K standby generator and some other products we needed for it. We spent over $4,600.00. Once the gas pipe fitter and electrician were done installing the product - we found out that 2 fuses had come with the product were did not work. I called Benson's Hardware and spoke to the manager, he said come down with them and he'd see if they had them - I drove down there and it turns out he didn't have them. He told me to go to an electrical supply store and buy them and he would reimuburse me the money. I went to an electrical supply store - they didn't have them so they ordered them. Two days later I went back to the electrical supply store to pick up the 2 fuses. Then, I went down to Benson's Hardware in Derry, NH and the manager had to call his boss (one of the owners) to okay the refund of $34.00 for the 2 fuses. His boss said NO, not unless Generac (the generator company) will give them the money back. The manager called Generac and they said NO they wouldn't give them the money back. The manager then called me at home and told me that they wouldn't refund me the $34.00 for the fuses even though he had told me earlier in the week to go pick them up and they'd pay me back for them. I can't believe that knowing we'd spent $4,600.00 at there store that they would lose a customers for life over $34.00. That really tells you how little they appreciate your business. I will never buy anything at this store again.
