The finished product came out excellent they covered everything on the house with tarps and the shrubs nothing got damaged at all I highly recommend.

Derek returned our call in less than 24 hours and came out to give us an estimate just as quickly. We already had an idea of cost and Derek's estimate was very reasonable. We were quite impressed that Derek did not require any upfront deposit. Derek gave us an approximate 3-week start date and sure enough, right on time. Derek's crew was fast and efficient. They carefully set up tarps to protect our shrubs and lawn. They worked from 8 am until the job was complete just around sunset. My husband and I were amazed at how fast they completed the roof. We were expecting a minimum of two days, not one. And just as quick as they came, they were gone. Cleaned up every nail and piece of roof scrap. Other than our beautiful new roof, you would never know they were there. We highly recommend Derek Cook's Roofing Specialists. We developed a leak in our roof at the end of August and had no idea who to call. After calling several roofers we received a call from Derek later in the day and to our surprise he was over later in the evening to assess the problem. (Still haven't heard from the other roofers). After locating the leak we decided it was time to replace our 28 yr. old roof. Derek promptly provided us with a quote the next morning which we accepted, signed that afternoon with NO money up front, and he temporarily sealed our leak to prevent further water damage with no charge. On Sept. 26th Derek promptly arrived at 7:15 am with a crew of six and began the job which was completed by the next day. These men work very hard, take few breaks, and take no short cuts.Derek remained on sight for most of the job constantly checking everyone's work, only to leave whe various materials were needed.Throughout this process Derek was polite, courteous, prompt, reassuring, and answered all of our questions. He also fixed things which were not part of the estimate: broken rafter and trim board and never charged us for it. Cleanup was unbelievable, the crew scanned the grounds at least six times and left it better than when they found it. Derek is a good man and runs a tight ship. He knows his stuff, backs up his work, is fair, honest, and trustworthy . This guy provides quality work and can run with the big dogs. Thanks Derek for giving us piece of mind. WB & PB

Derek responded very quickly to the inquiry I made through his website. He came out and checked out the house and provided information and a quote. He revised his quote slightly after some negotiation. He gave us a rough time estimate of when his crew would arrive, providing 48 hour notice of when the work would begin. It took about 2 weeks between agreeing to a contract and his crew to arrive, which was as good as could be expected. The first day onsite had a forecast of afternoon rain, so they limited themselves to the front half of the house. They completed that in about 3 hours, and came back the following day to complete the rest. The new roof looks great. They collected payment after the job was complete, so we were not worried about them skipping out before they were finished. He waited until we had come home from work and provided a walk-around to view the job to make sure we were happy. We are very satisfied with the job Derek and his crew did on the house. They were expedient and professional.

Derek and his crew were extremely professional from first contact. Derek did not try to "sell" me on product or services that were unnecessary for my project. He told me what he recommended and showed me his product line and that was it. We took a while to decide because he was the first estimate. The other 3 estimates we received left us feeling uncomfortable and somewhat perplexed as to why they would charge so much. Derek was quick to respond to our calls and told us exactly what his plan was. He was scheduled to start on a Tuesday but it was forecast to rain that day so he called in the morning to explain why he would start the next day with better weather. The product arrived before they started work and upon inspection by us it was exactly what he said he used. No hiding cheaper products. The crew arrived as scheduled and upon arriving home later that afternoon I saw that there were several workers on the roof and several on the ground cleaning as they worked. There was no debris strewn around the yard and the crew was extrememly friendly and professional. When they were done the first day the foreman explained to me what they had done up until that time and reassured me that the roof was covered (without a flimsy tarp) for the night. They arrived early the next day and finished before I came home from work. My neighbors were impressed with their diligence and cleanliness. Derek did not accept any payment until we were satisfied with the complete job. I would definitely recommend Derek Cook Roofing.

If you need a new roof, please STOP and read this review. This is a thorough, professional and quality company. I needed a small portion of my roof redone over a mud-room that was an addition to my original house. It was the kind of job that most companies would do on their schedule and only if they had a hole in their schedule. I left a message for Derek and was contacted back within 24 hours. The following day, Derek was at my house and produced a verbal estimate along with a written estimate of the costs of the job. His estimate was within 5% of two others that I had received and my wife and I decided to hire Derek. Since no deposit is required with him, I emailed back to accept the terms and schedule his team. The job was scheduled within two days of that email. Three workers came to do the job and arrived at 8am exactly, introduced themselves and got to work immediately. Three hours later, they were finished and proceeded to clean up my deck area to the point that it was cleaner than it had been before they came. They were courteous, friendly to my hyper-active dog, and very good at what what they did. By the time that another employee came to pick up the pallet, the only way that you could tell that they had been there was that I had a new, very handsome roof on my mudroom. Derek came to inspect the finished product and ONLY after it passed his inspection did he give me the final invoice. I strongly recommend this company to anyone looking for a new roof. They are competitively priced, but their SERVICE and finished product is what sets them apart from other places. They are true professionals.

Derek and his team did an excellent job with our roof and gutter replacement. Derek was very quick to return our call and come out to give us quote. He was incredibly friendly and very professional to deal with. Our roof was done in one day, and the crew did a fabulous job with the clean up. Derek did an awesome job of scheduling the gutters so they could go up after we had our house repainted. The crew who came to instal the gutters were great as well. The gutters look great and they did a wonderful job with the clean up. It was a pleasure working with Derek on this project. I would defiantly hire him again, and will absolutely recommend him to others.

Estimate process was great. He was able to schedule the work right away. He was pleasant and professional and very responsive to questions. Our roof was completed in one day, his crew worked professionally and clean up was great. A walk around and post inspection was done the following day to make sure we were happy with the work and that clean up was thorough. We love our new roof!

Derek was amazing!! Very responsive, friendly and knowledgeable. He performed the work as quoted! The job was done in half a day. The crew cleaned up so well you would never know they were at my house except for the new roof!!! Will use again!! Highly recommend!

We had a serious ceiling leak that couldn't be detected from the roof (several people tried), and we finally decided to go ahead with a new roof. Derek spent a long time on the roof looking for the source of the leak and even after we signed the contract, he called and came over during a heavy rain to see if he could find the problem. The work was scheduled about a month ahead of time to accommodate our schedule. It was delayed two days, one day because a previous job ran into complications and one day because of rain. Derek kept us informed. On removal of the old roof, his crew found uncovered improperly removed skylight and several problem areas with water-damaged particle board. The damaged areas were replaced with new plywood, and the job was completed in less than a day. The crew worked really hard; they answered all our questions; clean up was thorough. Derek made sure to follow up with recommendations for interior ceiling repair.

After a recommendation from a friend, Derek Cook promptly gave me an estimate to have my roof replaced. The job was completed on time using top quality products. Very smooth and efficient operation. All was done within one day. Contractor very responsive, answered all questions and requests promptly. Almost all my plants were left intact and once the crew left, things looked as they did at the beginning of the day, except for the beautiful new roof.

Roof was done in 2 1/2 very long days and the deck was done in 2. Both crews cleaned the property after each day and there was not a bit of debris left on my property. The roof looks great and the deck is stunning in looks. No leaks in roof..... VERY HOT days but both crews worked straight through the heat knowing that my house was going on the market very soon. I have recommended Derek's company to some friends already, and would recommend him to anyone.

I contacted Derek Cook and a few others on Angie’s List for quotes after purchasing a new home (5/31), which I knew needed at least the south facing dormer roof replaced I decided to do both front and back dormers. Derek was able to come by, while I wasn’t home, get a look at the roof and quote me without all that typical roofer sales talk of instilling doubt that all roofers use cheap materials and only they use the best, which I find annoying. Couple back-and-forth e-mails, texts and phone calls and we were ready to move forward. I gave the go-a-head on a Sunday, had the work completed Tuesday. I met Derek for the first the day of the install, open honest guy, easy to talk to. His team (3-guys) showed up on time, got right to business of working up on the roof on a hot sunny day. Once the job was completed, the guys went around a cleaned up everything. The guys where nice and respectful, one even shared his lunch with my dog. When it comes time to do the rest of the roof, Derek and his guys will be at the top of my list.

From our initial contact through the final inspection, Derek and his team were very professional and easy to work with. The job was well planned and executed and lasted 5 days. Our roof is approximately 3,800 square ft in area with multiple peaks and valleys. Each day, the team arrived on time, worked hard and cleaned up debris continuously so that each evening our property never looked like a construction site. Every worker was courteous and respectful of us and our neighbors (e.g., no foul language) and our property - work tarps and sheeting covered plants, windows and siding to avoid any damage. When the job was completed, a small crew came back to perform a final policing of the area to be certain that no small bits of debris or nails remained. The dumpster that was used to haul debris was picked up the morning after the job was done. As for the quality of the work - excellent! The roof looks great with the crisp, even lines of shingles across the roof and valleys visible from all angles around the house. Our shed was also re-roofed and done with the same quality and attention to detail as the house. Most importantly, the roof was rain-tested this weekend and passed with flying colors (as expected). I would definitely use Derek Cook Construction again for any construction projects

Derek was a great person to work with. His communication was great, and his crew had a great work ethic. Installing in October 2014, they worked against the clock for several days to close everything up before the snow came. The last night the crew was on the roof until 8pm. We had some out of scope work when the existing shingles were removed and found the sheathing needed to be replaced entirely. Derek was quick to let us know, and gave us reasonable options to address the situation. It was a great experience.

Derek completed the repair competently. He pulled out the rotten materials and put in new materials and fixed the problem that had caused this problem area.

He worked with me on scheduling and showed up on time. He removed the PVC pipe and cowling, repaired the hole with a new section of plank and fixed the tar paper and put a new section of shingles matching my existing ones. This proved more difficult than he had expected due to the pipe's location near the crown of the roof but he didn't let that get in the way. He left me the remainder of the packs of shingles (regular and crown) in case I ever need them again. He fully cleaned up after himself. Excellent work done both quickly and properly.

Derek was on time, professional and did a great job! He and his crew worked all day, into the evening, to get the job done. Then he returned to put up heating cables to hopefully prevent future ice dams.

I thought Derek was very professional as was his crew.? They were very responsive with an estimate and completed the job in a very timely manner.? All the work area was cleaned up and the roof looks great!? I had a leak before in that area and it rained like crazy the day or two after the work was done and not a drop.
