I would not use them again. The work that they do is quality at a fair price, however, reaching out to them and getting a response in a timely manner proved a challenge too often to continue using them.

Would I hire Hick?s Landscape Contractors again?
I?ve had Hick?s Landscape Contractors remove the old lawn, wooden deck and plants, design and installed irrigation, Zoysia sod, new beds with plantings,  trees planted (1 over 20 foot tall), a large brick paver patio and circular stairs and outdoor lighting in 2013. The design and installation was modified, without complaint, during the installation which resulted in a better look. 
The mulch was refreshed in 2014.
The pavers were cleaned and sealed in 2015.
Today (2016), the guys just redefined the beddings, got rid of weeds and installed 20yards of mulch. The 2016 mulch installation looks great. As usual, Hicks goes the extra mile to make your yard look picture perfect ready.
Yes, there may be some delays due to weather and and design. Delays should be expected.  Two-way communication works well.
 
In summary, if you want landscaping done right by respectful and courteous employees then Hick?s Landscape Contractors is the way to go.

A horrid, horrible company and people to work with. They were so nice until the second I signed the contract then everything changed. My house burned down along with my checks, they said "Don't worrry about it" we'll start the work and when your bank send us the check online we will deposit it. Well the date came to start and of course they said "We can't start, we don't have the check". I signed the contract around January 7th, work was supposed to start the 11th, it didn't start until I believe the 14th and then it stopped. Two weeks later I start questioning them and they blame it all on permitting, I called the town of knightdale and the town said Hicks didn't even contact them until the 19th. 
 Long story short, I talked to one of the owner's today, a rude, cold person who blamed me and said I should be more appreciative because they moved someone else so they could "get to my job quicker". On top of that I told them NOT to contact my builder because I was embarrassed that all of this was happening and slowing my house build and I get an email later saying they contacted the builder. 
 Absolutely the worst, least professional company I have ever dealt with from the top to the bottom. I am seriously questioning even using Angie's list for reviews in the future since this is the place I found this horrible company.

Very professional, efficient and reasonably priced.  Removed trees without damaging grass or other landscape and cleaned up areas.  Exceeded expectations.

The crew did a good job.  But I would not use this company again.

Fantastic! From the initial phone call to completion of the work, they were responsive, courteous and professional.  The project was just as we had discussed.  They care that the job is done well and it shows.

Everything went great! Yard looks fabulous. One thing customers need to keep in mind is that with the rainy, snowy winter we have had all contractors that work outside will be running behind schedule. Don't get frustrated it is definitely worth the wait.

Hicks goes above and beyond. I've been using them for a number of years now to do my mulching. They can do the job better and more affordably than I can do it myself. They cleaned up all debris in the yard, and this year there was plenty due to the storms kicking stems off of the trees in the back yard. First they edged all of the garden beds, then they removed excess mulch, pine cones and even blew all the leaves off of my lawn.
The yard looks great. We're very satisfied and will continue to do business with them.

They are reliable and they do a good job. They get compliments from our home owners a lot.

We struggled to get a bid from them. I'm not very satisfied so I don't think I'm gonna go with them. It took them two weeks on the second try when we had them come out and do a walk-through. Again, it took them two more weeks before we can get a quote. The man who came out was fairly nice. I thought things were gonna go along. Unfortunately, the first time, he lost our information and I don't know what happened. The second time, the quote that he did give me was not complete with the amount of work that he was trying to quote. He missed some of the things. It looks like he put it all together in a big area that I wasn't really interested in. They were here when they're scheduled to come.

They provided a quote then when I had questions they never responded.

Work was done nicely. No complaints about the actual installation, everything actually looked quite nice but the company was so poorly responsive that the experience was very unpleasant. Initially they were slow to set up an estimate but were punctual for this. After we committed to work though, they would not return phone calls and it took multiple attempts to get a hold of anyone.

The quote process went good. They came out and they were punctual. They came when they said they would. They came out within a week and half. They emailed me a detailed plan. The pricing was in line with everybody else. They weren't the cheapest, nor very expensive

They were very nice. Their price was quite competitive.

We spent about $4000. They were very professional. I am very pleased with the work. They did a good job. They did what they said they would do and cleaned up well. They exceeded my expectations on cleaning at the site and all around the place. I will use them again.

Scott Hicks, the owner, came out an met with my husband within a few days of calling for the estimate. He was very professional and knowledgable. We received the estimate within a few days. The bid was actually higher than the other estimates that we got, but we were so impressed with their professionalism that we felt most confident that we would get a better result with them than some of the lower bidders. They were able to accomodate a very tight schedule (we were planning a big party) despite multiple rain delays. The crew, which numbered from 3-8 guys worked for 2 days to complete the job, leaving as late as 7pm. They cleaned up between days. We could not be happier with the result. It is beautiful! We plan on using them next year to landscape the front and side yard.
