We signed a contract in June of 2008 with a "promise" that it would be done in approximately 9 months...12 months if we had bad weather. We did not put "time is of the essence" in our contract which was our fault--we went on good faith. Throughout the process we encountered delay after delay. We had a lien put on our home (and we are still being threatened with others!) for non-payment of supplies and services even though we had made all of our draws THE DAY they were asked for. We were lied to day after day about why we were delayed. We found out just last week (7 months after we moved in) that several other subcontractors have not been paid which has now made it very stressful again for us. We have no complaints about his employees, but the owner himself was very dishonest and we would never trust him again.
Description of Work: We signed a contract with Deep Creek Log Homes in June of 2008. We were told that our house would take approximately 9 months to build...12 months worst case scenerio in case of bad weather. Our home took 2 years to build. We incurred thousands of dollars in expenses due to this huge delay.
